Elizabeth crinkled up her nose when Talila squished her face. She smiled when Talila called her beautiful, though, blinking when the girl leaned in close to whisper in her ear. The kiss on her ear sent a bit of a shiver down her spine and she smiled towards her. "You just might be more beautiful than the sea," she murmured, leaning in and resting her forehead back on Talila's. "And we both know just how spectacular the sea is..."
Elizabeth felt a bit strange heading to the orchard, especially with the large bouquet she had in her hands. She hadn't been sure which one to buy, but this one had been big and quite colourful and she'd thought it looked nice, so she hoped Talila would think the same thing. She wasn't certain where she would find Talila, so she decided to just head for the girl's tiny house and if she wasn't there, she'd poke around a bit more. She was walking when she spotted Talila and her father and she immediately tensed up a bit. Could she even approach her when her father was there? Her father would probably want to kick her ass for hurting his daughter - not that he could, of course, but Elizabeth really didn't think that being forced to beat up Talila's dad would be a good first step to reconciliation.
Talila's brother, Morsar, was the one to stop her. "You think flowers and an apology is going to make Tali want or trust you again? She told you something, even when knowing it was going to upset you and you proved her wrong. Go back to your sister and leave Tali alone. She has had enough shit in her life without you waltzing back in it." He glared. His father was the one to come and smacked him behind the head. "Go finish your chores, Fig." He said and the boy looked up at him and nodded before glaring back at her. "Human." He spat before walking away. Talila's father sighed, "I can't say I am too happy to see you here either, but by the look of the flowers you are sorry enough." He said before walking away. Talila was looking over now, a small frown on her face before going back to picking fruit, disappearing into their branches.
Elizabeth blinked when Talila's brother stopped her, flinching a bit at his words. She blinked when their father came and smacked him, not entirely sure why he'd do that, especially when he said he wasn't happy to see her, either. When he walked away, she spotted Talila before she disappeared further into the tree she was harvesting. Maybe they were right. Maybe she'd caused enough damage and Talila didn't want her back. She hung her head, turning away and letting the bouquet fall to her side. Talila deserved someone closer to her own age, someone who hadn't hurt her so much her family hated them. She began to walk away, the bouquet dangling at her side from her fingers.
An elf lady who looked just like Talila stepped out in front of her and smiled, "They say you are a knight, no, child?" She said, her accent as clear as day. "Should knights not have strong wills, aye?" She asked. "So are you a knight or no? Shoo. Go on girl and go talk to my daughter. She may be upset with you... a good deal, but she was always a forgiver. But my son is right... flowers and an apology won't gain her trust back. You are gonna have to work hard for that. If you think you are too weak for such a thing though, you know where the front gate is." She smiled and walked off.
Elizabeth blinked when an elven woman emerged and addressed her. She could only assume this was Talila's mother, and the woman confirmed it when she referred to Talila as her daughter. She was going to point out that Talila deserved to start over and to find someone closer to her own age, but then the woman's last sentence just about set her off. No one called her weak. She blinked, a little surprised, and then turned around. She took a breath and held the flowers up again, walking towards where she'd seen the little elf. "Talila?" she asked when she got there. "I...want to talk to you."
Talila had been picking fruit when Elizabeth came over. She looked down, contemplating whether she should drop the fruit of her head but decided against it before climbing down and facing her. "Yeah, how can I help you today?" She asked in a professional way. "Fruits are at its highest today." She smiled, as she would any customer.
Elizabeth blinked when Talila spoke to her in a professional voice, as if she was here to buy fruit and not to apologize. She bit her lip, almost turning around to leave again, but decided against it. She may not win Talila back, but she was going to at least try. She wasn't weak. "Look, Talila... you know I'm not so good with words, but I came to say sorry," she said, and then rather awkwardly held out the flowers. "I overreacted and I've been so miserable with missing you. If you can forgive me...or give me a second chance...or something...I promise I'll do better," she said.
Talila looked up at her, a frown coming to replace the smile and looked at the flowers before smiling just a bit. She took them and looked back up at her. "Isla says my timing sucks." She said softly. "Which... it probably was a horrible time to tell you... but I really didn't see an opening for it before... and it wasn't like I planned to sleep with you." She said. "And I understand you were concerned about your sister, but at the same time who I chose to sleep with beforehand isn't really any of your concern. I mean... besides your sister. Should he have turned me down? Yeah... probably... but he didn't... It was hard enough to tell you... without you having to prove my worries right." She said softly and placed the flowers into her basket.
Elizabeth listened while Talila talked, nodding a bit. "You're right. Who you slept with before me isn't any of my business," she said. "I... well, I mean, I'd never slept with anyone before you, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. I know I shouldn't have reacted the way I did, though," she said. She paused, and her gaze shifted downwards to look at her feet. "I've just never really felt anything like I feel when I'm with you and I'd never forgive myself if I didn't at least try. If you're not willing to give me a second chance, that's okay... but I really hope you will, because I want to make you happy and show you that I can do better," she said.
Talila listened and nodded. When the woman looked down at her feet she smirked. Elizabeth was a gorgeous and adorable woman. No matter how tough she was. She had strong feelings for her too, it just sucked that she did what she did but she wanted to give her another chance. "I... would love that." She said softly. "For the second chance thing." She said softly.
Elizabeth blinked when Talila said she would love to give her a second chance, lifting her gaze to look at her in surprise. "I... really?" she asked, a smile slowly creeping across her face. "Thank you, Tali. I promise I'm not gonna let you down again," she said, and then paused, recalling Talila's brother's harsh words. "I just... I hope that your family won't be upset with me? Your brother... he was right, but he wasn't too pleased to see me here," she said nervously.
Talila nodded when she asked really. She didn't hold her to her word about letting her down. People let others down all the time, even when they didn't mean it. She laughed a bit when she talked about Fig, since he would be the only one to out right of off on Elizabeth about it. "Ah... pay no mind to Fig. He has a temper. Doesn't take too kindly to humans... especially the ones who hurt his family. Personal reasons I guess. He had been teased by some jerks for the longest, then he shot up and kicked their butts. Never cared for humans since. Hence why he never goes to the market." She smirked.
Elizabeth smiled when she heard Talila's sweet little laugh, nodding a bit. "Well, okay," she replied softly, and then she stepped forward, gently lifting both hands and cupping Talila's cheeks. "I've missed this sweet face," she said softly before leaning in and kissing Talila's nose. "Everyone kept giving me shit about moping around, but I don't really do the whole... you know, feelings thing very well," she said.
Talila looked up at her when she stepped closer before smiling as she cupped her face. She giggled and shook her head. "You just missed my darn nose." She said and smirked. "I... stole Isla's kid and stayed here." She said softly. "Isla came here last night with a man... I think they are going to date. He is a giant elf and James is in love with him." She smiled.
Elizabeth smiled a bit and shook her head. "Nope. Not just the nose. I missed every little bit of the whole face," she said. She nodded when Talila said that she'd stolen Isla's kid, blinking when she said her friend had come over with a man. "Well, that's cute," she said. "Priscilla said that her friend Zelipia works with Isla," she said. She paused, glancing around, and then she looked back down at Talila. "Did you wanna go do something? Even if we just... go lie down and cuddle and talk or something? Maybe we can talk about... I dunno, life and stuff, and we can figure out if there are any more things we need to share so we don't end up with any... you know, unexpected surprises..."
