Wise-Man Survivor of the Wasteland
Personality: Chuck has an extremely short temper with everyone and anyone. If he has an opinion, odds are you are going to hear it. He grew up working hard, physical labor with his father and has no patience for laziness. He is very old-fashioned and believes in chivalry and doesn't like to accept new technologies. He doesn't like to make jokes or play around except for his rare, very dry humor. He looks at everything realistically but that wouldn't stop him from going on a near-suicide mission for the betterment of people he cares about. It takes a while to earn his trust and respect, but if you ever do, it's an accomplishment to talk about.
Unique Traits: Is old-fashioned, will die for someone he respects or cares about, is extremely adapt at making things out of raw materials.

Chuck signed up for the army and went into WW3 when he was young, going into service for the United States for a while before being forced to retire due to getting shot in his right thigh in a skirmish. He then went back to his Oklahoma home and made a living being a working man, doing more physical labor than most people those days. When the bombs were launched Chuck did not flee to a UVB, but instead just holed up in the cellar of his home with his dog Rusty. During the bombing his house collapsed on top of the cellar, but luckily he survived down there with only a few scrapes and bruises. After a few days he managed to dig through the wreckage and emerge onto the surface, met with a devastating display. The radiation then was still extremely bad, and Chuck quickly got sick. For days he could do nothing but sit amongst the wreckage of his home with his dog and pray he doesn't die. He did recover, but the radiation permanently changed him. Now, instead of aging normally, he ages much, much slower than most humans. That was what enabled him to survive for so long after the bombs dropped. He manages to live more easily than others, however, because of his work ethic, and being a more 'out-doorsey' than most people of his time. Now he roams the land, alone for the most part except for his trusty pet, making temporary shelters and moving on after a couple of days.
