Yellow Fox

"Fantasy. Lunacy. All revolutions are, until they happen, then they are historical inevitabilities.”

a character in “Weapons”, as played by VitaminHeart

Description

(Image pending.)

Full Name: Jael, no parents evident led to lack of surname. Occasionally goes by Jael Fox, but rarely has need for the surname.

Nicknames/Aliases: Yellow Fox

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Occupation: 'Fox' class operative for The Pack, specializing in infiltration and acting as a saboteur.

Description:
Jael is a wiry young woman in her early twenties, of unremarkable height at about 5'5. Her pseudonym's namesake is her hair, which is a yellow blond-hue, and is mid length, generally tied back rather loosely and hidden for the most part.

Her features seem surprisingly grounded in innocence for a 'deadly assassin', not stunning, but fairly pleasing. Her nose is short, eyes wide and expressive.

Upon 'working' she dons dark clothing with a distinct, long, hooded jacket, and a scarf folded inside to obscure her nose and mouth. Gloves reach up to her elbows so as not to reveal any skin or leave prints, and she wears light shoes to make little sound. A small canvas bag and a belt accompany her with her things, including lock picks, fake card keys, tools, a first aid kit, knives...and a handgun.

Personality: Yellow Fox is considered by the majority of the citizens of Vega to be a vicious, sneaky, even feral creature that preys upon people. People speak of her as being like a wild animal in her movement and actions. In reality, these wild stories of the killer fox-woman are somewhat... exaggerated.
Jael is extremely dedicated to her cause, and has grown up to be a cunning, quick operative that strikes with force and conviction, but she is no brute. She is actually a highly intelligent and quite caring individual, she just has no tolerance for civilization. She associates it with the evils of mankind and feels happier out in the wilds.

When not wrapped up in her work for the Pack, Jael tends to live a far more balanced lifestyle, out in the overgrown ruins of the old town, where nature has overcome the trappings of humanity. There she lives without technology and knows the way of the wild, that one has to hunt for food and take care of oneself.

Despite this, she had inherited compassion and hates to see things suffer. While she hunts in order to live she feels that respect is extremely important and does her best to minimize any suffering she causes.

People are often somewhat put off by Jael's rather... feral behaviour. That fact that she sees nothing wrong with gutting fish or skinning rabbits on a desk, or that she tracks mud on a floor without apology, or that she has paid no attention to social graces for some time. She can come across as rather charmless in that respect, but it is more of a result of the upbringing she received than an intentional desire to offend.

She is extremely dedicated to The Pack and believes the Archangel people to be singularly evil. Little can sway he from this fact, and she sees the prospect of giving her own life to the cause as being simply an occupational hazard.

Skills:
- Jael is quite athletic, capable of running, jumping, climbing, and fighting when she is required to, her lifestyle making her a lot more capable than the average person. She has trained to be stong and quick, and practised self-defence.

-Growing up in the wild and overgrown ruins that make up the old city with her mentor and fellow foundlings, she gained a strong knowledge of plants and can use different species to counteract illness or injury in most cases. She can equally use these to harm, and potentially to lethal effect.

- After a severe illness at a young age, Jael's lungs have a low tolerance for things. Toxins and pollution effect her quite badly.

Weaknesses:

-Jael is a bit of a glass cannon. She cannot take hits terribly well, and lacks resilience of some of the heavier classes in the Pack. She cannot take a lot of damage before she ceases to function effectively.

- Her loyalty to The Pack, often blinds her to the truth of matters, as her mentor will doctor the truth in order to suit their cause as much as Archangel do the same.

Brief History: Jael has little memory of her early life. Sleeping in doorways in the slums of the city, begging for money, taking food from trash cans. It was a terrible way for a child to live, that much she could recall. She survived for a few years scraping by, but it was at age five her luck ran out. She started with a cough, a cough that became worse and worse. It was a harsh winter, and she contracted pneumonia.

She could recall it vaguely, being curled up in a sidestreet, sheltering in an upturned fruit crate against icy rain, struggling for any breath. She had been terrified, but lacked the strength to do a thing. Then she recalled someone approaching, several people. A man picked her up and wrapped her in a blanket. Something had left her convinced that she must have not survived.

Several days later, she had awoken in a bed, being tended to by a doctor. The doctor was one employed by The Pack, and the man who had collected her off the street had been one of the operatives, known by his pseudonym Silver Lion. He had saved her, and he became a father figure to the young girl. He raised her and taught her many skills. In the ruins where they lived, she came to know many of the foundlings that were brought in, and began to help the Doctor, White Crane, with some of the cases. Eventually however,as she became old enough to fend for herself, Jael took up took up the name Yellow Fox, and began work for the organization.

She was an effective, prolific, and dedicated individual. She had never failed a mission nor questioned the orders given to her.It was due to her success that she was called one day, early, before the regular meetings, by Grey Wolf, and given a special mission. She was to infiltrate a transport and destroy the cargo. Yellow Fox found the cloak and dagger attitude peculiar, but went ahead as instructed, and that night, she put on her disguise, and set out for the traintrack, not realizing the fateful nature of this assignment.

So begins...

"Containment breach! Containment breach! All authorized personnel ordered to evacuate and prepare for decontaminiation." A computerized voice spoke as alarms blared and the cargo crate opened letting fumes of gas and filtered amounts of sunlight into the metal cargo crate. "Mom, I don't want to go to testing today." Andrew muttered as the fumes went into his lungs and were changed from a harmful chemical to a combination of oxygen and nitrogen atoms.

The sedatives stopped pumping into him and the chains loosened on his body. After coming out of his nap Andrew felt the sun on his face and opened his eyes to see a person wearing a gas mask trying to get a better look at him. This is my chance to escape, I could take one of these chains and choke this person to death if I wanted to... No, I wouldn't get any information if I did that... I got it! Andrew thought and soaked in as much energy as he could and focused it into a black energy ball in his right hand.

"Incinerating decontamination in 10... 9.... 8... 7..." The computer spoke again as the massive vents in the cargo train sealed up and pure gaseous hydrogen poured into the train. Andrew touched the black energy ball to the persons head which caused the energy from his hand to paralyze their brain knocking them out. "I hate doing black slumber to random strangers." Andrew muttered as he caught the person and smashed the side of the train open thrusting himself out of the moving cargo vehicle. After a few seconds of moving away from the train, the air pressure changed and behind him a massive shock wave was produced followed by a huge explosion sending him and the person in his arms flying. A few moments later the dust started to settle and Andrew lied on the ground still clutching on for dear life to the person he had just saved.

After a few dazed moments from the massive explosion, Andrew's eyes opened and he realized he was holding on to the person that opened the crate back on the train. "I trust your not one of my doctors, due to the lack of protocol back on the train. Wow! Look at the mess you made." Andrew noticed the massive smoke clouds and the flaming debris that were falling from the sky. "They should have tried harder to keep me in that crate. Well anyway, I guess I have you to thank for my rescue from Archangels. My name is SERAPH #1, but I like to be called Andrew. Judging by your confusion of the situation, I would say you don't know what I am. I am Archangels dirty little secret, a child born from genetic engineering and infused with bio-weaponry. " Andrew held out a hand to help his liberator up.

When he held his hand out, Andrew could hear a low flying gunship flying directly toward them. "Break time's over girl. Get to some cover before that gunship sees you!" Andrew pointed the spikes on his back toward the sky and two red balls of energy were sucking in energy from the surrounding sunlight. Suddenly an almost foghorn like trumpeting came from Andrew's mouth and a concentrated energy blast fired from him slicing the gunship in half. "Hey we might want to leave before they send more of those things. Are you alright." Andrew said in between breaths and stumbled as the plane crashed into the ground.

After a few moments of awkward silence from the person Andrew looked behind him to see that the person in the mask had left him alone in the smoldering wreckage of the downed gunship. Well that was very rude. now I have a moral conundrum, save the people that I just shot down or go after this person that saved my life. With no blood sample to track with and no obvious trail to follow, that person left me with no way of thanking them for their rescue. Andrew thought and walked toward the wreckage of the plane and tore open the side hatch to reveal a destroyed armory and a few dead bodies.

The primary pilot sat contorted in the cockpit of the gunship and the co-pilot was kneeling weakly in his chair clutching onto the yoke with a hacking dry cough. "Come on big guy, lets get you out of here." Andrew whispered softly to him and picked him up out of his destroyed chair. "I'm actually surprised anyone survived a crash like tha-." Andrew paused when a perfectly preserved prototype rifle caught his eye. I know that weapon, I saw it years ago back at the research facility. He strained his brain trying to remember the weapon. Andrew left the plane and set the pilot down on the ground as he started to wake up.

"Captain did we survive?" The pilot asked with a weakened voice. "Technically no." Andrew responded while retrieving the weapon that he was marveling at earlier. "What's this weapon's purpose?" Andrew asked calmly already knowing the pilot's answer. "It's a prototype railgun designed to destroy the SERAPH before it destroyed the payload that we were carrying." The pilot confessed as Andrew took his radio away. "There's a town in that direction. Your lucky I still show mercy to you grunts." Andrew said calmly and crushed the radio in his hands and walked toward the city known as Vega.
