Biography: Growing up on in far western New Mexico, Rita was raised to be a tough outdoors person. Although her mother ingrained the notion of a proper, feminine lady into her, Rita was heavily influenced by her male relatives and thier camping/hunting trips into the mountains. Eventually, she was drawn to the glitter of the big city. She moved to Albuquerque for college, where she settled and took a job in a dynamically growing company. She quickly garnered a small fortune. However, the demands of her job took a toll on her sanity. Soon, not even her trips to the country were enough to calm her nerves. She needed to get as far away from her job as possible before she went insane. This cruise was to be her chance to finally relax a little before returning to the hell that was work.

Personality: Though she may appear soft and delicate, Rita is tough and hard. She is a woman of strong convictions - often to the point of stubbornness. She is very proud: proud of her job, money, body, social status, heritage, religion, and intelligence. Speaking of which, she is very intelligent, graduating college at a young age with honors. Sometimes, she can come across as being a smartass, or bossy. Other times, she may appear arrogant, though this is just an expression of her independence and self-reliance, as there were few Hispanic children in her hometown and she often had only herself for company. She can also be patronizing in a "motherly" sort of way, though she has no kids of her own to speak of.

Rita was dressed in a black skirt, a light green sleeveless shirt with a low-cut neckline, and a black coat. She was wearing stiletto heals that somehow stayed on her feet during the whole ordeal. Her hair was done up in a high ponytail. She had just returned to cabin from one of the lounges at the time of the shipwreck. She managed to grab her life vest and put it on. Around her neck she has a silver crucifix and a medal depicting the Virgin of Guadalupe. These were tucked between her breasts, and the chain somehow remained around her neck. She has a pair of reading glasses in her pocket.
