What if I knew your name?
What if we had the same home room?
What if the things that tie us are stronger than we knew?
What if weâd shared a pint?
What if we cheered the same team?
What if these moments between us mean more than we could dream?
Would I have grace for you and you for me?
|{Reason for attending Blackwood Prep}|
It is Jace's fault she's been sent to Blackwood Prep. Although, it is somewhat Tristan's fault as well because she's always willing to tag along on his reckless adventures that usually did not end well. Until one day his adventure ended with them both being sent to Blackwood Prep.

|{History}|
Being the eldest child of four other siblings has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantage: You can boss your younger siblings around. Disadvantage: They hardly ever listen, and did I forget mention youâre stuck watching them all the time? Tristan is the eldest daughter of Richard, known as âRichie,â and Tamara Jones. Due to being the oldest, seemed to slip through the cracks when it came to attention. Plus, by the time her parents got home from work (never before ten) they both seemed too tired and aggravated to give any of their children much attention. By the age of eleven Tristan was to watch a five and nine year old brother, and two six year old twin sisters after school. She wasn't given much of a âsocial life,â but she didn't really complain too much about it. Her mother worked at a salon and her father worked in a bottling factory. Both were, in all actuality, dead-end jobs. When Tristan got older she found it ironic that her dadâs name was Richie since they were practically poor. Every day she was to cook for her siblings (breakfast and dinner), help with their homework, and of course, whatever else they needed. If you asked them, Tristan was their mom. She doctored âboo-boos,â she read bedtime stories, and she listened to their complaints and crying. Somehow, she always managed to have time for her schoolwork which was done in the wee morning hours. Tristan, along with having a soft spot for her siblings that she held dear, had a soft spot for animals. Every time a stray would come to the house, sheâd feed it, and you know what happens when you start feeding one. . They usually stick around. This really annoyed her parents, especially when they started finding hurt rabbits in her room that she claimed to be âhelping feel better,â and toads, and lizards; Have was fearless when it came to things other young girls were squeamish of.
When Tristan got into high school a lot of things went wrong. Her motherâs salon burnt down which left her at home and angry all the time. Her father started coming home later and later, staying after work to âdrink with the guys.â Tristan had to get a job to help pay the bills that seemed to be piling up, which left her brothers and sisters home alone with an âangry mama bear.â Then, when she finally got home in the late evenings and tried getting school work done, her mother would belittle and take things out on Haven that she should have her husband. âYouâre not going to amount to anything! What makes you think you will do any better than me and your deadbeat father? Youâll be here with us forever. Youâre stupid. Dumb. The only chance you have is to marry a rich man. But wait, who would want stupid Tristan Jones? Hah! Just face it now. You are nothing.â This, along with other things, was told to Tristan on the daily. At these comments, an emotionally beat Tristan would stow away to the woods behind their home, dragging her school bag and journal that she'd often wrote down her personal thoughts in along with her. The remarks wore on her though, to the point she started believing them herself. Nonetheless, she continued her studies, putting schoolwork before friends and other things, but never her siblings.
Her junior year is when things started to end up like hell. Her youngest brother, Charlie, died with pneumonia and her parents didn't even do anything about it, infact, things never changed after his funeral. Tristan was still expected to take care of her siblings while her parents stayed out late and did whatever it was they did. It went on for another month or two until Tristan had enough. She told her parents that she was done dealing with their bullshit, and how they need to get up and take care of their children. "Charlie is dead, and it's like you guys don't even care. You're fucking pieces of shit." she told them. Neither of her parents took her words at heart, her mother only went to her daughter and slapped her; hard, and left her there crying on the cold floor. This was also the year when she met Jace. The two had been inseparable. He'd bring her on his reckless adventures that usually left Tristan in trouble with authority. At first she didn't think it was bad, she just wanted to go out and have fun for a living. Until one day she and Jace did something that was beyond against the law that eventually ended them at Blackwell Prep.
