Personality:
Stoic and monotonous are common words that are used to sum up Von's personality. Lazy and sarcastic are also some other words. Shadow Keeper or not, Von likes to keep his distance from most people. He's the kind of person who will do what he's told, but only the bare minimum. Unless he does it unknowingly, he will never do more than is asked. He prefers the quiet and relaxing areas over the loud commonplace areas. On the contrary, when he feels like there is danger, no matter where he is, his instinct is to immediately pull out his handgun and point it at the source of the threat. Oftentimes this will get him in trouble, but he immediately puts his stone-face mask when he realizes that he did something unnecessary. When confronted about his past, he either says absolutely nothing or vanishes into the shadows. Naturally, he loves nighttime more than daytime as he has more access to his abilities at that time and there are less people out and about. It is during nighttime when he enjoys doing most of his wandering around.

- Marksmanship || After much practice with firearms, Von's accuracy with a gun is nearly accurate, but favors his handgun.
- Negotiation || If there's ever an instance where he comes to crossroads with someone else, Von does his best to meet the person half-way and come up with some sort of answer that will benefit both parties.
- Weapon Maintenance || Due to his background, Von has had many encounters with weapons of various sorts. He's been taught how to clean and maintain many kinds of them.
- Valorous || Von is ready and willing to be someone else's shield if the need arises. However, if sacrificing a person will serve the greater good, he will give that person up, no questions asked.
- Stealth || Using his ability to blend into the shadows as an advantage, Von is adept at sneaking and spying.

- Trauma || Due to his past, there are certain events, such as a sudden loud bang, that will send him into PTSD mode, which isn't that bad. However, when he witnesses something that is more closely related to his past, his judgment can become clouded.
- Judgement || Von's approach to most situations is, "Shoot now, Plan next". While this is good for some situations, it can very well get him killed one day.

Powers:
- Darkness' Cloak || The user blends themselves into shadows and darkness, almost entirely removing their presence.
- Shadow Blade || The user materializes a one-handed sword to be used alongside a small firearm.
- Hope's Demise || The user infuses a single shot with dark energy and fires, the bullet exploding upon impact.
- Huntsman's Snare || If the opponent is in a shadow, or if it is a dark area, the user is able to create a snare out of the shadow. This ability does not work on the shadow of a person.
- Shadow's Doorway || The user is able to use shadows as a gateway from one place to another, so long as the destination is a shadow or covered in darkness. The range is limited to150 meters and can be used consecutively, but consecutive use puts emense amounts of strain on the user.
- Wall of Darkness || The user is able to materialize shadows into a temporary shield.
- Shadow Thread Bindings || The user creates thin, sharp wires from shadows and surrounds the enemy with them. While the wires can be cut, they are effective in slowly the enemy down.
Shadow's Gambit || The user draws energy from their shadow into their firearm which is then discharged into the air. The discharge will then split into numerous shadowy bullets that rain down on a 200 meter radius. This ability is recommended for strict last option usage as not only the enemy, but the user and comrades can be hit by the barrage.

Von is most often seen wearing his black dress suit with a blue tie. He prefers to wear dark colored clothes as it matches his affinity. However, if the situation requires it, he will wear other clothes.

History:
Von was never always a quiet person. Originally, he had been an average child who was filled with joy and innocence. He lived in Iceland with his Japanese mother and Icelandic father. They were both police officers stationed with each other and they lived in a humble apartment. It was around his tenth birthday when Von started showing signs of being a Shadow Keeper. This surprised his parents and they told him to never show those abilities in public. It was also around that time when Von began to see Rune. He got along quite well with her, often being called crazy as mundane people could not see her. Occasionally, Von's dad would take him to the precinct and give him lessons on self-defense of firing small weapons. Rune had also been learning as she watched, but since she wasn't the center of attention, her skills are a lot less developed. Von's father also taught him how to maintain and clean weapons. Von was very happy and content with his life.
Five years later, he hit a turning point in his life. While out shopping, there was a disturbance. Weapons were being discharged and the sound of glass being shattered filled the air. Von's father took cover and returned fire as his mom quickly brought him to a nearby alley. She left him with her spare handgun and gave the last words he'd ever hear her say, "Don't move, stay safe." She ran back out into the firefight to join his father. Von was using his abilities to blend into the shadows of the alleyway as he watched, frozen with fear, as the firefight continued. This wasn't some random occurrence. It was a premeditated riot. It wasn't until after the next event unfolded that he understood that. First, his father got shot and fell to the ground. His mother ran over to him to help, but ended up getting shot in the process. In the end, both bodies lay lifeless as pools of blood began to form around them.
Von watched the bodies. Waited for his parents to stand back up. They never did. Shaking, he began to raise the gun in his hands when he felt familiar arms embrace him from behind, Rune. She whispered the exact same words that his mom had said earlier, "Don't move, stay safe." As if sapped of all energy, Von's hands dropped to his knees as he slumped to the floor. Both he and Rune sat in silence, utter silence. That's when a person appeared before them, claiming to be a part of a guild called Lone sin, he asked if he could bring them in. Whether it was because he was already empty, or because he just didn't care anymore, he took Rune's hand and stood up. He followed the older male to a new life that awaited him.

In contrast to Von's normally stoic and monotonous attitude, Rune is very energetic and highly excitable. However, despite her carefree and optimistic attitude, she lacks some common sense and is somewhat clumsy. This is because Rune's personality developed around the past Von; she adopted his personality from back when he was still a child. She enjoys loud places and social events and will always try to cheer people up. She's very caring and will always stop to help others. Oftentimes, she is seen arguing with Von about how to go about certain situations as their personalities clash. Despite that, she just wants Von to be happy and tries to get him more involved in things. She's very trustworthy and is always on task. More often than not, she's doing more work to pick up for the work that Von does not do.

- Cooking || Rune is does exceptionally well in cooking, despite her normally clumsy demeanor. However, her ability to bake is not as good.

- Energy || Almost as though she never gets tired, Rune displays tremendous amounts of energy.
- Swordsmanship || Receiving different training from Von's father than he did, Rune is quite adept with blades.
- Work || In order to pick up for Von's lacking, Rune developed her skills to do the jobs that he never really did, such as house chores and paper work. She doesn't really mind, though she still tries to get him to do some.
- Clumsy || Despite being quite agile and peppy, Rune is a klutz. Often times tripping over nothing.
- Height Complex || Due to her being somewhat of a smaller person in comparison to most others, she developed quite the height complex and is very touchy about it.
