The town of Yukkuri; a sleepy town where not much ever happens. However, unbeknownst to most, the town harbors a dark secret. Underneath the feet of those who walk these grounds is a legendary and infinitely powerful demon; Jörmungandr, the world-eater!

In order to protect the seals and the townspeople from those who wish to harness the demon's power, witches, those who harness the power of magic for battle, have set up workshops all around the city. Witches, and their male counterparts, magicians, are people with the power to use magic. To use said magic, they undergo a transformation into witch form, which usually dons them a hat and cape, along with any weapon that is used in there magic theme.

In Yukkuri highschool, three groups of witches reside: A group of rogue witches who are unaware of the presence of the tower witches, but know about the Studio witches, a group of studio witches who are aware of the tower witches, but not the rogue witches and a group of tower witches, who are aware of both other groups, and are trying to capture the leaders of both groups, as they unknowingly hold the key to unsealing Jörmungandr.





"Workshop Witches" or "Studio Witches" are the witches that try to protect the world. They build several workshops in cities where many people gather and reside and keep watch to make sure that no magic users are using their magic for evil. There are workshops in every major city that do the monitoring of the witches activities. Every workshop has a commander and it's a custom to get the permission of the commander when a studio witch decides to take an apprentice.



Tower witches are witches that use magic for their own reasons. They have very little care for the world and people and use their magic for evil purposes. A group of four have come to Yukkuri under orders from their mysterious master in order to unseal Jörmungandr and wreak havoc on the human world.




Rouge witches are unusual witches that belong to neither the Studio witches nor the tower witches and tend to keep to themselves, neither helping nor harming civilians. They are often self-taught magic, and don't usually associate with witches other than themselves. Also, more rouge witches seem to be male, as compared to the tower and workshop witches who are mostly female.
