Kuru doesn't have any powers, at least, not the mystical sort, but that doesn't mean that she's totally useless.
From a young age, she was raised near the ocean by her parents, her mom being an oceanographer and her father being a wilderness expert. They both enjoyed sharing what they knew with their daughter. So, she's very intelligent when it comes to animals, plants, and survival.
She's also very good at solving problems and working out situations.
Kuru is also a talented cook, and she's a gymnast, so she's speedy and flexible. She took a few martial arts courses as well, so she'd like to think that she can hold her own against most threats.
