Pvt. Ramsey Smith [0] Ramsey was a chef before all this. During the initial assault, aliens busted into his resteraunt. He slaughtered Sectoids with a few cleavers, but they killed his wife. He went to XCOM after that, and stated serving, hatred fueling him.

Sectiod Laboratory
6 Months after initial alien invasion
343 crawled among the raided laboratory, twelve gammas following closely behind. It looked around the silver walled room that was once an organized cloning lab with carts that held carts filled with stabilizing agent and clone food. Now the room it had been commanded to clean was a mess where carts were strewn about to form places to hide with green and blue puddles covering patches of the once white floor. Tools covered the sections of floor the puddles did not, no longer able to serve their functions of opening, closing, implanting to, and removing from clone tubes.
343's skull glowed for only a few seconds and the group that was following it spread out to clean up the ruined room. All this damage from a single raid where its tube mates where startled by the sudden insurgency of the humans. Fear was destructive, but it saved lives when it came down to it. Hopefully they wouldn't be coming back, but something made 343 doubt that.
