"One, two, three? Screw it, fifty-two should do the trick!"
Personality: Always seems to have a bit of a cocky side about him and sure of his skills. Very intelligent and often referred to as more of a tactician than brawler. Never really a fan of, but always drawn to, trouble. He would generally use words to diffuse a situation on the verge of growing out of hand, but sees the necessity of a fight in most cases.
Nationality: American
He carries a ever-present playing card deck that he normally uses as the target of his mutant abilities, charging them to explode with the same result as a grenade (the larger the object the bigger the blast. He also carries a set of two steel batons that he uses in conjunction to his martial arts talent.
History: Was born in southern Louisiana, but never enjoyed the state's backwoods charm like his father did. In fact, he claimed the only state worse than his birth state was Alabama. His powers were rare in the mutant world as he didn't gain a random skill or power by possessing the X gene. Instead, he inherited his father's gifts and his learning was accelerated due to his father's understanding of the powers. Under his father, he also studied various martial arts including the French Kickboxing style. His father also tried to drill the art of the staff into him as well, but he much preferred the fluidity of the dual weapon style of the double baton over the dying staff style. When he was in his teens, the headmaster of a school for mutants came to visit his father as they were old acquaintances. Jesse's growing need to get out of his 'cursed' birth state lead him to strike out of his home and join the school to further refine his skills. Shortly before his graduation, he received news of his father's death. Although he is technically graduated from the school as a student, he hangs around as this is the only other place he had been accepted as a mutant other than at his father's side.
