Due to a lack of contact with strangers during his childhood, Sam seems to have two completely different personalities. He is cold and distant when interacting with strangers, but is cheerful and open to friends and family. This odd social behavior has made Sam look like a cold douche bag to strangers and an overly hyper active crack head to his associates. Nevertheless, Sam can be befriended easily if the right approach is taken. He can also be soften up by soda and sugary sweets. Sometimes he speaks in a mix of dialects without realizing it.
For a melee weapon he has a aluminum base ball bat. He also has a light brown notebook bag. In it he has an LED flashlight, two extra AA batteries, a roll of duck tape, two MRE packages, a lighter, and four glow sticks.
Sam was born in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. His mother, an immigrant from the Philippines, was working in the United States Navy as an electric engineer and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Sam's father was an unemployed conspiracy theorist that frequently worked on making a perpetual motion machine that was similar to John Bedini's motor wheel. The two parents' views on reality greatly differed, and they divorced while Sam was only eight years old. Sam was taken by his mother, who eventually became stationed at Norfolk, Virginia at the Navy Base. While living with his mother, Sam had to deal with her cultural lifestyle and total control, which caused Sam to despise his mother.
At the age of 14, Sam was finally allowed to live with his father in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There he became influenced by his father's conspiracy theories about the government, aliens, and other ideas that affected Sam. Sam's father trained Sam how to shoot guns and how to be resourceful with anything that could be used as a weapon. His cultural differences and the color of his skin made him stand out in school and a frequent target of bullies. He eventually taught himself how to counter attack his persecutors, and was suspended more than once as a result of his actions.
Sam became dedicated to learn what his father offered to teach him, and as a result his grades in school drastically dropped. Soon his mother became worried about him and took him away by court order while he was 16 years old. They both moved to Alameda, California where they lived in a condo. During his enrollment in Alameda High School, Sam avoided to partake in school activities and instead worked at an Asian grocery store at a nearby Chinatown. There he sometimes became involved in gang disputes, so he became even more experienced in self defense combat.
Sam's mother was once again worried about his well being, so she decided to have Sam moved to Zombeh-Town where her younger brother would take care of him. There Sam completed high school but decided to stay in Zombeh-Town because he wanted to stay near his uncle.
