By utilizing character development, Moderated Storyline with summary, and regular advertising to its fullest potential.
Character Development
Throughout the roleplay characters will have many opportunities to develop, learn new abilities, spells, gain new equipment and etc. Characters attributes and abilities will also play a major role in effecting the direction of the storyline, which has been loosely mapped out prior to the creation of the roleplay. When other roleplayers look over existing characters and read the summary they will see the impact particular players have had on the thread and in turn want to impact it as well. This factor reveals the thread truly does evolve around the characters and others may see ways they in-turn may effect the thread.
Moderated Storyline with summary
The storyline is heavily moderated, meaning players do not have to consistently worry about coming up with what to do next. A scenario is always presented for characters to react to. When roleplayers witness a moderated situation in which the environment responds to them rather than them coming up with how it responds, it accelerates the element of variety which is key to a progressive roleplay. In addition as the adventure unfolds there will be a summarized entry of the progression of the thread on the introduction of the homepage. Meaning those interested in joining will not have to read through numerous posts to determine what is going on and can pick a opportune time when they feel would be ideal for them to bring in there character.
Advertising
Once the first narrative post is up advertising will commence. Sequentially the summary of whats going on in the thread will be posted in the roleplayers wanted area. In addition with brief summaries of the suggested types of characters that the roleplay could use. For instance, if the roleplay possesses a large number of individuals with similar attributes, abilities and personalities. It will be suggested what types of characters, drastically different from the existing, would make interesting additions.
Very thoughtful question! I appreciate these types of questions as the often bring about elements I may have not included or thought of when creating the roleplay, I save these sort of questions so that they can serve as a foundation for future roleplays.
