Mythardian Myths & Legends

Timeline
Chronology of Mythardia

Clockwork and Calendar:
TIMELINE - The current year is 860 C.E. now one month after the death of King Estvikt and Prince Relbregh, the month of the Council Massacre.

Ashendale uses a common lunasolar calendar with perfect calculations. Every lunar month has 5 weeks, each with 5 days. Every twelfth night is a full moon. Every sixth night is a half moon. Every first of the month is a blue moon. Every last of the month is a red moon. Every 150 days, no moon appears at all and darkness covers the land. There are 25 days in each lunar month. There are 12 months equalling 300 days per solar year. There are 12 solar hours per day, and exactly 12 lunar hours per night equalling 24 hours altogether.

Time is not linear in-game, and fluctuates with intros at the top of each player's posts stating the time, date and location with intros such as "Previously," "Meanwhile," and "Later that day," etc. The actual clock started when Rayne started advertising the RP, est. March 1st, (860 C.E. in this case) and since then notable events have occurred in-game. March 1st therefore marks the first day of the first month - the day of King Estvikt's death. The current time in-game is April 30ish, 860 CE the month of the Council Massacre.

I updated the timeline, again. The timeline now includes lore from 3 different RP groups: the Castle of Dragons roleplay, the Battlefields of Barrendor roleplay, and the Kingdom of Ashes roleplay.

The current year is 860ce.

Side Note - the death of Fendinn the Unsatiable marks the extinction of all arcane dragons on the continent of Barrendor; while Ssylvidian is the last of the blood dragons in Mythardia; the Order of the Night Watchers was founded by Kellindil the Blood Elf; the Order of the Savage Knights was founded by King Tyler Nyghtfallen in honor of Wylfrec the Savage.

Re: Mythardian Myths & Legends

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Sigurd on Wed May 02, 2018 8:56 pm

Alheimyr Universe has just about every single species, sub-species, race, sub-race, class and sub-class you can think of. There are even many hybrid races or half-blood species which exist in this universe, but those will be discussed in more detail later on, as we haven't actually finished 100% designing Alheimyr Universe yet. But we're working on it. Check back for updates.

Ashendale (the Ashdown Kingdom) is located on the super-continent of Lorendor (aka Vellusia), on the medieval epic high fantasy/magical planet of Mythardia, located in Troas Arm; one of two swirling wings (the other being Minos Arm) of the Melkeve spiral galaxy. Melkeve Galaxy is considered strictly a strictly fantasy/magical galaxy for the purposes of this roleplay. There are many, many medieval species in this galaxy. However, there are no futuristic (sci-fi), pre-industrial (steam), or modern (mecha) races within the Melkeve Galaxy; as such technologies do not magically exist in this distant deepest part of timespace.

I can not give you a list of all the species that exist on Mythardia, as there are too many to list and many more yet to be discovered. But here are some of the more common/standard playable races which do exist on Mythardia:

1. Humans: there are at least four major playable human races that exist on Mythardia; the most popular being the pinkish skinned commonfolk or western race called Heidinnir, whose language (Heidinnirian or Mythardian Anglesh) is closest to Tolkien Westron or Old English, and who are well suited for temperate climates; next are the Blaumir or bluefolk, a dark-skinned wholly haired race of southern desert people who closely resemble African cultures, and are well suited for hotter climates; then there are the Skraelir or reddish skinned eastern peoples, who closely resemble Asiatic races, and who are suited for more tropical climates; and finally the Nordir are a northern pale skinned race adapted to the oceans and cold icey regions of the world. These four races constitute roughly 50% of all races found on the planet Mythardia, a predominantly human world, and there are also many sub-races among them; one sub-race of Skraelir are of a northern Asiatic ethnicity similar to eskimos (Chukchir), those of Buddha-esque cultures (Chinir), the honorary Asiatic islanders (Japir), and Asiatic water people (Korir), just to name some; while Heidinnirian sub-races include pre-Old English/proto-Westronian commonfolk (Anglesh), the woads and highlanders (Scotsir), the native druids (Irishir), and the castle-building westfolk (Welsir), the artistic and open-minded curly haired fairfolk (Grecoir), warring copper skinned fairfolk (Spartar), the inventive islanders (Minoir), and inklings or purple robed nobles (Thracir), who some believe are the oldest of Heidinnirian sub-races; some Blaumirian sub-races include native southern desert tribes (Ethioir), native southern cave tribes (Blombir), the dark-skinned alchemists (Khemir), and jungle dwelling Blaumirian tribes (Congir); more common Nordirian sub-races include an islandic tribe (Gothir), extreme northern reindeer tribe (Polar), a native farming tribe (Nordir proper; and Svedirians), a sea-faring tribe (Denmar), southwestern pirate-types (Vinlanir), and great axe tribes (Frankir).

2. Elves: there are many different sub-races of elves; light elves (Ljosalfar) in the snowy tundra, and dark elves or drow (Dokkalfar) in the marshes, there are woodland elves (Skogalfar) in the forest, and nocturnal grey elves (Myrkalfar) who only live in caves; the dreadful green skinned urukai or orcs (Orknir on Lorendor aka Orcenir on Barrendor) who live in muddy swamps and dead forests; the more common half-elves (Halfalfar) who live among humans; and the lesser common water elves (Sjosalfar) who dwell near misty lakes and waterfalls. Elves are one of the most diverse species besides humans, but they all have pointy ears. The land of the light elves is called Varadycia, located far west of Ashendale on the continent of Lorendor; the land of the dark elves is called Estvikt Swamp, located in Kulrydale; there are also many sub-races of faefolk, related to the elves; woodland faeries (Skogvaettir), pixies or fire fae (Eldvaettir), river faeries or sprites (Vatnavaettir), and many others. The faefolk in Mythardia are the smallest of creatures, ant-sized insect riders.

3. Dwarves: there are a few sub-races of these stouty folks; the friendly dwarves (Svartalfar) of Quadoria in Lorendor live close to Varadycia near their elvish cousins; the more malevolent black dwarves (Dvergir) are nocturnal and live in the darkness of caves underground; also in relation to dwarves but somewhat smaller are the red-capped friendly gnomes (Nissir) who live in gardens, and blue-capped mischievous gnomes (Tomtir) who live in houses or tree hollows; and let's not forget the half-gnome dwarvish halflings or hobbits (Smafolkir), who live in the peaceful hills and shires. There are also leprechauns (Hamingjar) who live near rainbows and waterfalls; even deeper in the ground are the half-gnomes or half-trollish gnolls (Gnollir), and wicked goblins (Rissir) among other things. A dwarvish kingdom called Aglarond once existed on the small island-continent of Barrendor.

4. Anthros: there are literally dozens of anthropomorphic sentient races on Mythardia; friendly werewolves (Verulfir) live in Lycendale on the continent of Lorendor, while a darker race of werewolves (Lycarians) inhabits Barrendor; along with good werecats (Hreysir), evil werecats (Felirians), good foxfolk (Melrakkir) or evil kitsunes (Vulpeskir), werebats or friendly vampires (Upir) and evil vampires (Draugir), wererats (Skavens or Skaevir), were-hyenas (Hyenar), were-jackals (Jakkar); the less common bearfolk (Berserkir), and wolf-men (Ulfhethnir) who some believe are just animalistic humans of the Nordirian sub-type: there are also beetlefolk (Vifillir), lizardfolk (Argonir or Reptilir), frogfolk (Salarir or Amphibir), rhinofolk (Kabalnir), kobolds or shroomfolk (Phungusir), birdfolk or taurians (Aviair), mermaids or sea people (Merfolkir), including evil merfolk (Lorelir), friendly treefolk or ents (Eiknar) and mischievous treefolk (Skogrisir); witches (Volvair) and warlocks (Godir), satyrs (Goatir), centaurs (Centar), minotaurs (Minar), drink-stealing ombastjaelers (Rombasjir), man-eating megapisces or nabaros (Nabar), balrogs or borases (Borasir), even Pruvian hounds called moungrels (Moungir) demonic mole-like tundaleers (Tundalir), golems (Golemir), gargoilles (Gargylir), giant snapping turtle-like curtars (Kyrtar), burning skeletons and asheaters (Asheir), and pig-like oinkers (Oinkir); and many other human-like anthropomorphic races inhabit the magical world of Mythardia; these anthros should not be confused with sentient spirit animals and companions. Anthros are more human-like than large sentient animals.

5. Thropes: these are less human-like sentient creatures, spirit animals and companions; giant venomous land snakes (Lindvyrmir), giant poisonous sea snakes (Ormungir), unicorns (Naffir), griffins (Gamir), water horse spirits (Narvatir), giant squid with talons (Krakkir), giant whale-like leviathans (Lyngbakir), giant hawks (Heidir, not to be confused with Heidinnir) and giant eagles (Ornir), giant crows or ravens (Hrafnir), sentient horses (Hrossnir), reindeer (Hreinnir), giant boar (Galtir), dire wolves (Fenrir), and many others. There are also black arcane dragons (Dokdrekkir) originating from the Lunarian underworld; there are white air dragons (Vindormir) living in the snowy mountains; there are firey red dragons (Eldormir), greyish rock dragons (Bergdrekkir), green forest dragons (Skogdrekkir), and the rainbow colored silvery bluegreen gilled sea dragons (Sjodrekkir) which inhabit the Ocean; manticores (Manticar), drink-stealing ombastjaelers (Rombasjir), powerful shamamakats (Shamkatir), man-eating megapisces or nabaros (Nabar), dark omits (Omitir), bottom-feeding razor fish (Muddir), chimaeras or makabores (Makabir), even Pruvian hounds called moungrels (Moungir) and dark Lunarian hellhounds called greers (Greir), megapisces (Megalir), eddas or water spirits (Eddar), plus Mythardian fly-traps and gorbas (Gorbir), and there numerous other thropes and sentient spirit animals on Mythardia.

6. Giants: there are many kinds of giants on Mythardia: ocean giants (Sjothir), trolls (Trollir), frost giants (Hrimthir), lava giants (Eldjotnir), rock giants (Bergrisir); and some treefolk or giant elks are called tree giants (Skogrisir); not to mention golems (Golemir) and balrogs (Borasir) are often categorized as giant types; sub-races of giants and half-giants (Halfrisir) also appear rarely.

The 7 clans/tribes (animal cults practicing hunting magic) affiliated with Nordir:

Kronhjortir- red deer (deer-skins)
specialize in felling trees and raiding villages; moon and wind tactics; the smallest Nordir being usually only 5'0"-5'5" tall; the least aggressive or warring; good crafters, builders and toolmakers; knowledge of trees/forestry; pitch-forks and rakes; fast dashers; overall weak.

Gyrfalconir- white falcon (feathered-cloaks)
specialize in falconry, archery and knowledge of wind; fast dashers; overall weak.

Hrafgeitir- billy goat (goats-fleece)
specialize in rock climbing and seiging castles; strong and fury; war hammers; smiths and swordmakers; tire easily and are weak from behind cuz slow to turn around, but dangerous and powerful headlong; bone breakers; strong teeth.

Skogkattir- forest cat (lynx-coats)
specialize in swimming, stealth and sneak tactics; ninja-esque but viking-like; good with ingelred sword, ulfberht sword, seax dagger; more women than men; balance, in speed and strength; graceful; best if solo.

Svinfylkir- battle swine (boars-hides)
specialize in shield wall; wedge formation or boars-tusk formation; throwing axes, javelins and spears; knowledge of terrain; balanced speed and strength; best in groups; weaker without shield wall.

Ulfhednir- dire wolf (wolfs-pelts)
specialize in spying, scouting; sneak attacks; knowledge of terrain and weather; good with ulfberht swords, ingelred swords, seax daggers and spears; work best in packs; strong frenzy; fast dashers; fight barefoot and barechest; howl like wolves; attack simultaneously from different angles or flanks; cause confusion and chaos; immune to pain; one of the more savage tribes, being cannibalistic; use scare tactics; weaker if fighting alone.

Bersirkir- cave bear (bear-coats)
specialize in raw power and strength; strong frenzy; good with great war axes and heavy weapons; immune to fire and steel; cannot speak, growl or groan instead; require space; work best alone, or as champions forming "rani" (boars-tusks) in svinfylkir formations; slower than others; the largest of all Nordir being 6'2" to 6'7" on average; head-hunters, cannibals.

It’s lords charging highest of taxes all the while palace guards pillage the towns for its limited resources beating down anyone who dares voice their opposition. At the center of the Mareshoe Mountains sits the large castle of the king and his many sons. All brutish in nature ruling with iron fists power hungry determined to conquer anyone and everyone. Burning the world so long as they rule the ashes, recently the king has slaughtered out to other countries for their most fierce of warriors as attendants and possibly tutors for his one daughter in hopes to harden her soft nature. But now the king is bedridden, the king's heir and all the king's council have been assassinated, and war is brewing on the horizon. Will the kingdom fall, or will this new servant help crown the rose in this mountain of ashes and save the people? Play to find out.

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Sigurd on Mon May 07, 2018 5:50 pm

This is a summary of the current written map in effect as of 05-05-18.

Mythardia is one of 32 all-original fictional Planets in the Alheimyr Universe designed by Aldafar the Creator, the supreme god of gods and ruler of the realm, having created it through special magic using his own flesh and blood.

Mythardia is located in the Solsken/Muneon System, itself located on Troas Arm (one of two spiral arms, the other being Minos Arm), in the Melkeve Galaxy, a strictly magical spiral galaxy within the Closed Group, inside the Argoni Sector, located in the Chronikea Supercluster, one of only two superclusters in the Alheimyr Universe.

Far far away in the distant Solsken/Muneon System is the ancient magical planet of Mythardia, a world of medieval high dark fantasy. It is a giant semi-hollow blueish green planet the size of Jupiter, orbiting a golden blue-ringed sun called Solsken, and orbited by a silvery white moon called Muneon which effects Mythardia's weather and Oceaia tides. Mythardia has a surface area of 75% water and features many geographical landscapes.

Mythardia has one large super-continent called Lorendor, one smaller tiny island-continent called Barrendor, and a subterranean underworld called Narandor which exists at the planet's core. Lorendor and Barrendor exist on opposite sides of the planet, so that sunrise on Lorendor is equivalent to sunset on Barrendor, while the underworld, a lava-flowing cavernous realm called Narandor, is constantly evinced in darkness and shade.

Narandor is a realm of ghosts and goblins, orcs, trolls, dark elves, vampires, wererats, gnolls and dragons. All characters go to Narandor when they die. Narandor is the Mythardian netherworld, the land of the dead and undead. Narandor is a place of smoke and flames, of monsters, demons and zombies. Luckily, it is far beneath the Mythardian surface, while the cave tunnels leading to Narandor have all been caved in to prevent the inhabitants of the deep from resurfacing. The main entrance to Narandor is a large jaw-shaped cave face on the Battlefields of Barrendor.

Barrendor is a small island-continent, and home to the oldest aboriginal races on the planet. This includes some half-giants, lycans, werecats, wizards, humans, elves, dwarves, hobbits, gnomes and faeries. Barrendor is also the location of Aglarond, a huge dwarvish stronghold in the Horsehead Mountains where lies a legendary gateway carved in the shape of two giant dwarvish guardians. East of the Horsehead Mountains is the Oaknut Forest, where many magical creatures live. Within the forest is Greenleaf Village, a multi-racial town center known for its famous Greenleaf Tavern and its local brew. West of Aglarond is the Land of Falling Mists, home of the elves and river faefolk. West of that is Grimshaw Village, known for its powerful medicines. The village overlooks the fabled ruins of the legendary Castle Nyghtfallen (more popularly known as the Castle of Dragons), the oldest citadel on the planet. The entire continent of Barrendor is full of historical landmarks from ancient wars and kingdoms. Two famous places are the hundreds of burial mounds at the Battlegrounds of Darkness, and the scorched rocks and blood-stained soil at the Battlefields of Barrendor.

Lorendor is a younger but much larger continent with many lands and kingdoms. To the west is Quadoria, the land of the dwarves up in the Mareshoe Mountains, a large range. Just south of Quadoria are the woodlands of Varadycia, the homeland of the elves. In the far northern end of Narandor is a frozen tundra. In the far southern end of Narandor is a dry hot desert. East of Varadycia is the Mareshoe Mountains, which leads to Gullred Village in a silver rock quarry known for it's precious stones and metals. Mareshoe Mountains winds around Castle Ashdown in the land of Ashendale, inhabited predominantly by humans. Castle Ashdown points east taking Kings Pass for fifty miles to Relbreghs Palace, where there's a watch tower on the river. Northeast of the famous Castle Ashdown is Wynter Haven, a blacksmith and craftshop village overlooking Relbreghs Forest, which surrounds a large lake north of the palace. South of Castle Ashdown is wilderness. South of that is Heidinnia of the fairfolk. South of that is Blaumia, just before the desert. East of Blaumia is Serfia, also in the desert. Just east of Relbreghs Palace is the land of Kulrydale and Castle Estvikt, located just Northwest of Estvikt Swamp on the other side of the river, where the drow or dark elves and curtars live. In the center of Kulrydale are the nutritious Goldynn Plains, in which is located the Goldynn Village known for it's merchants and traders. East of Kulrydale is Skraelia, the easternmost coast of the continent. North of Goldynn Village is a bridge going across the river to Tovia, a land of short statured peaceful people who value trading and farming. West of Tovia is the northern kingdom of Pruvia, a warring nation with strong livers known for their local Pruvian oyster vodka. West of Pruvia is Nordia, a land of berserkers and sea-faring vikings who live among the frost giants and icey dragons.

Re: Mythardian Myths & Legends

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Sigurd on Wed May 16, 2018 7:07 pm

The Kingdom of Ashes RP is slowly coming to an end. Thus begins a new chapter, the Battlefields of Lorendor RP which is part of the overall storyline for Mythardian myths and legends, a continuation or sequel. A summary of the events foretold in the last story are as follows. These events may change as time unfolds.

Faedkyn Hylorra conquers Castle Estvikt in Kulrydale and Relbreghs Palace in Ashendale, seizing control of the area and establishing the new Drowish Kingdom in the east. Princess Carmen is engaged to marry the Pruvian Hrak Vladimir Oakheart and thus Carmen becomes queen. Faedkyn Hylorra and his army march towards the heart of Ashendale while Queen Carmen Oakheart sends her own army to meet them in a great battle. The earth trembles from the wars on the surface. This causes Ssylvidian to awaken in Narandor, a mighty red dragon who lives underground. Thus begins the Dragon Age, and soon Faedkyn Hylorra and the Night Watchers are defeated by the combined forces of Ashendale and Pruvia, only then to be visited by Ssylvidian on the Mythardian surface. Ssylvidian and his minions, including the Night Watchers, begin their terrorizing attacks on Lorendor, scorching much of the country. Darkness consumes the whole land, until it is said that a hero will come along and slay the dragon.
