A thousand cherry blossom trees, a thousand wishes attached to each delicate, red ribbon. The City of Dreams, it has been called, due to the thousands of cherry blossom trees that have been covered in red ribbons, trust embed into them. It is upon this town in which a miracle occurred. However, that is not it's true name.
For hundreds and hundreds of years, family’s have been ‘blessed’ with something called a Spirit Animal. Spirit Animals all vary, from great, majestic animals to small and meek ones. They are woven into the hearts of humans in the family and those families quickly became nobles. Few of these families still remain; some have eyes rolled at their very name. However, the Spirit Animals are still used for fighting battles against their own kin. In many cases, they’d be injured beyond repair, and a lot died. And why? Simply to decide which family is stronger.
That is where this tale begins. Three of these Spirit Animals, or rather, their human forms, were to enter yet another battle in a stream of such fights. Scarred, injured and weak, they all were shocked when they were set not to battle themselves, but to battle a Witch of Curses. She didn’t fight the three, and instead cursed the three of them. They each received an individual curse, which could only be lifted under certain conditions.
There was the Curse of the Body, which rendered its victim meek and weary. The Spirit Animal under this curse is constantly ill, injured or tired and cannot do much, for their body is too weak for them to do so.
Then, there is the Curse of the Soul, whose victim is paranoid and non-trusting, always believing others to want to hurt them. The Spirit Animal becomes tainted, not wanting much to do which others and always doubts words said to them.
And lastly, the third curse was one of the Heart; one completely different from the other two. Worlds apart, in fact. This person trusts people too easily and lets their naïve self be pulled into awkward situations. They are often excitable and peppy, and when they feel sad, they don’t know what is going on and why their chest hurts, so they carry on being happy. This, naturally, leads to the heart breaking down, as it is so confused.
What the Spirit Animals do not know is that the Witch of Curses only amplified their original faults to make them realise what they were doing wrong. They were always weak, untrusting or too trusting. However, the Witch had a timer. They had to cure these curses, but only with one clue to guide the three.
Of course, the three had no idea what she was talking about. But as soon as she spoke those words, her Trick came and whisked her away. A Trick is a creature created to serve it’s master and can take any form, though they do have an ultimate form. But enough about Tricks. They aren’t important in the least. Or are they?
For this Trick is, for lack of a better word, tricking the Witch, and is instead attempting to rescue the cursed Spirit Animals. And so the Trick sends them towards a village, high in the mountains, where a village has settled down. Although it has been there for centuries, no person has ever left the warm refuge, though many have sought it.
Sentaku no Shinai (lit. City of Choices), often just called Sentaku or Sen by it’s residents, is generally a place without troubles. Although, like every other city, it’s residents are human so they may or may not like each other. Fights do occur, but there is one similarity with each resident; they all needed Sentaku to appear. They were running from someone, or their hearts were broken, whatever the case was, their souls needed rescue. They needed to make a choice. And that’s where they would take the fast track to Sentaku.
Of course, Sentaku is an ancient city full of temples and shrines. The children are raised well and some become priests or priestesses. They follow a rather carefree religion and are waiting for the arrival of the Spiritual Animals, something that happens once every five hundred years. And so, as the villagers celebrated with a weeklong festival, the four Spiritual Animals staggered into the village. Of course, the villagers could sense their auras. Hell, many of the priests and priestesses fainted on the spot.
But the Elder walked forwards and greeted the four with kindness, as she did to every visitor, before she assigned three of the young priest(esse)s to the Spiritual Animals. She charged them with lifting the heavy curses from their human bodies using whichever methods they wished. They were dubbed the Spiritual Guardians and had been chosen by fate, whether they liked it or not.
However, the Witch and the Trick had entered the village in disguises. Though they know the other is there, they cannot possibly fathom finding each other as the spells cast to hide their presence from the other are simply too strong. So they are simply mistrusting of everyone and perform life-threatening pranks on the villagers to see if the other will help from the goodness in their hearts.
Neither will cave in, of course, and it’s up to the Spiritual Animals and Guardians to protect the villagers from harm.

The Spiritual Animal of Myth is one not to be reckoned with. With powers beyond those of the usual, underestimating this spirit could easily cause you damage. Well, it would be so if the spirit weren’t cursed with sickness and a weak body.

This Spiritual Animal feels peaceful and relaxed when around nature, yet has an uncontrollable power that could bring devastating results if triggered. And that power is easily triggered, unfortunately, due to being cursed with no trust in people and an unsteady soul.

The Spiritual Animal itself is not a rash one. It thinks things through and comes to a tidy solution, unlike the other two. However, these thoughts often cause the spirit to end up trusting people too much and getting hurt when expectations are not met.

This guardian has been tasked with the feeble Animal of Myth. Being one who has been bedridden much as a child, he/she finds ways to help in any way he/she can. He/She also knows a lot about folklore and myths; he/she has always been in awe of the heroes and heroines.
~ Spiritual Guardian of Earth ~ Tsukiakari
Rather hot-headed, this guardian will not take no for an answer; which in turn shocks the Animal of Earth. Having a personality rather like that of his/her Spirit Animal, he/she thinks that perhaps they will get used to each other easily. Boy, was he/she wrong. He/She somehow calms him/herself by singing, which is, surprisingly, something the Spirit Animal does too.
~ Spiritual Guardian of Seas ~ LazuliMetempsychosis
This one has to be the only one who is easily the complete opposite of his/her Spirit Animal, and isn’t really that enthusiastic to be on the job either. In fact, he/she has decided not to bother much with his/her task, but ends up feeling worried whenever the Spirit Animal puts him/herself in danger.

If your character is literally going from the frying pan into the fire while everyone is resting on the counter (to explain the metaphor, your character is going from drama to drama while everyone is really calm and nothing is happening, I’m going to have to ask you to calm it down. However, there are injured people and people with broken hearts or whatever, so the drama count will probably be higher than the word count…)
The Spirit Animals and Guardians will reside in a temple-house-shrine-thing literally just outside the village center
Random stuff I've added while creating my character- As you probably noticed, I sorta kinda added a Spirit marking thing. It can be anywhere and any color and is basically like a tattoo, but it glows when you used powers. Yay~
- I also said that all spirit animals kill their hosts when they're born (mothers, basically). I'm changing that to "a few".
- Eeh, did I mention that the spirit animal can partially transform into their animal, and only fully into the animal when the spirit gains control? I can't be bothered to go through my strange, terrible writing to find out, aha. (-__- ;)
- Which is a bad thing and should be avoided.

Eh, I did but then I have no idea what the password was like, a week after not using it, really. But since I have a new computer (Woohoo, birthdays!) and it has Windows 8 (where it's all like "Sync every application you have, including Skype), I'm planning on getting it again. Uhhh, well, it's good to hear that you're good now. O_O;; But, I'm sorry to hear that you even got hurt in the first place, that just sucks. Although, your crash is just really funny to imagine, I can envision in in an anime-oriented fashion perfectly.... XD Aahhhh...anywho....

Sorry I haven't replied in a while. I kind of dislocated my shoulder. My dad made the terrible mistake of letting me try out his motorbike on a motorcross circuit and I kinda went up a hill-thing too fast and managed to sing "We're soaring, flying!" before realising I had taken my hands of the handles to throw them in the air while I sang High School Musical (-__-) and I landed badly. My dad couldn't even help since he was just laughing too hard to even care so his friend Monkey had to take care of me instead.

I was back to Jakuri, so continue to call me that, but I managed to pull a stupid yesterday night, and I accidentally managed to lock myself out of my Jakuri-chan account, and until I can get assistance on that, I'm stuck with Lucid. I went to change my password and my e-mail on the account at the same time...but I gave the wrong e-mail address due to a typo, and the reactivation e-mail was sent to an invalid e-mail address. Yay....
Anywho, I'm looking forward to the relationships that Ouka will establish with the other characters, and Joker, I swear the fact that I made her a Nekomata was completely unintentional.... XD I read up on the mythos behind them, and it just clicked for me that Ouka would be a Nekomata! Anywho, I'm looking forward to the relationships that Ouka will establish with the other characters, and Joker, I swear the fact that I made her a Nekomata was completely unintentional.... XD I read up on the mythos behind them, and it just clicked for me that Ouka would be a Nekomata! But then when I remembered Wade's phobia and dislike of cats, it just made it that much more fun to keep. Ahah.

Man, did she have to be a cat? Wade is going to be tripping a little when he sees her (once again, that eye of his really does blow xP). It should make for some interesting scenarios.

I think Ran and Ouka will definitely have some interesting interactions. Our dear cynical priestess will probably end up serving a sort of snarky, jaded big sister role to Ouka's more outgoing idealism, since it seems to me like they're opposite sides of the same coin. They both want to reach out and interact with other people, but Ran assumes a self-destructive pattern of isolation, while Ouka assumes a self-destructive pattern of reaching out, only to get hurt in the end. =/

Considering how insane I've gotten in the past before with some of my character profiles, Ouka might wind up looking kind of tame for me. XD

Well, okay, so Ouka's gotten an update on her profile...you can approve her as a WiP for now Chro so the others can see her so far.... I got a good chunk of her history knocked out I think so far, her personality and yada yada oughta be easier to handle than it's been.
EDIT: So, it turns out that I got most of Ouka's personality done too...she's almost 5,200 words.... XD I think her profile will wind up above 6,000 words very easy at this rate.

Considering I'm a Tales of freak as far as games go, if I didn't recognize her, there would be something very wrong with me I assume. Ahaha, well, Ouka is still giving me the roundabout. v.v I'm thinking about making her a technical princess by birth or something, given the lifestyle I envision her having lived prior to the roleplay, it would fit rather well.
