Introduction
Ghouls; an evil spirit of phantom, esp. one supposed to rob graves and feed off dead bodies. Such a definition is very close to our definition of what a ghoul is. So then, if this definition isn't entirely correct, then what exactly is a ghoul?
Ghouls are creatures who eat humans to survive, whether those humans are living or dead. They also look like humans, but there are aspects to them that separate the two races, such as their inability to eat normal food, except coffee. If ghouls even take a small bite of any type of food, they'll hurl and throw up because they won't be able to digest the food. Not to mention, but it'll taste worst than they would imagine.
Ghouls also have something called a kagune. It is their own unique predatory organ that they use to hunt their food and kill with. When kagune's are present and can be seen on a ghoul, as they are usually hidden and kept detained, all their skills are enhanced further than any human's: strength, agility, and resilience. But there is more to a ghoul's kagune; they are made of special cells, and can also be known as 'liquid muscles' because of their ability to flow just as smoothly as blood, but also harden to be harder than teeth. The only way these cells can be released are when their kakuhou is pierced and opened, releasing these cells which becomes a ghoul's kagune. While there are four types of kagune, a child of two ghouls, seeing how a human cannot give birth with a ghoul, can be a hybrid of two types of kagune. Because they also have incredibly healing abilities, no normal weapon can actually damage them but quinques, specialized weapons to kill ghouls.

Of course, they cannot live off of human food, so they will, occasionally, find dead human bodies to feed on once a month to keep themselves alive. Ukaku - shining feather
Ghouls with an ukaku kagune have their kagune spread out from their shoulder blades on their back like feathers on a wing. This can vary if an ukaku-ghoul is an hybrid of two different ghouls and their 'wings' may not appear to look like feathers, but will still remain wings regardless. This kagune is able to swiftly attack because of it's light weight. It has a wide variety of what it can do, as it can attack from close up, or even from a distance, making an ukaku-type ghoul able to fight many opponents. Just as long as the fight doesn't carry on too long.
They are able to finish fights quick because of the way they are, but they are very low on stamina and cannot last in any long fight. Ukaku-type ghouls have little to no endurance, and are at a huge disadvantage if a battle lasts too long. They are capable of defeating bikaku-type ghouls with their speed and agility, but when it comes to fighting a a kokaku-type ghoul, they will most likely be drained of their energy quickly and lose.
A koukaku kagune is a metallic and the most firm kagune out of the four and
kagune is the exact opposite of an ukaku because they are more suited for
heavy guarding. Unlike the others, this kagune can take on various appearances.
While it is able to fend off the other types of kagune, the one type of ghoul that can pierce through this kagune would be the rinkaku kagune.
Rinkaku - shining scale
The third type of kagune is the rinkaku kagune, which is released at the back of the waist. They look similar to scaled tentacles and can range from two to six sprouting from behind. Rinkaku kagunes specialize in striking power and have regenerative abilities beyond the other three ghouls. They excel in pure and brute strength, but their kagune itself is quite brittle and could easily be cut off a ghoul by a strong force. But that isn't stopping them from breaking others.
A ghoul who possesses a rinkaku kagune can deliver severe strikes against a slow koukaku. While a koukaku's defense is strong, a rinkaku-type ghoul can penetrate their kagune and reach the ghoul within no time. But this isn't the case with a bikaku-type ghoul. A bikaku kagune is similar to a rinkaku kagune, except the bikaku has shear strength, not brute force. With a rinkaku kagune's brittleness and a bikaku kagune's power, it can easily cut off the kagune, leaving it at a huge disadvantage.
Our final kagune is the bikaku kagune, the kagune that comes from the around
the tailbone area, and even appears to look like a tail itself. To summarize this
That said, while a bikaku-type ghoul is strong, quick, and metallic, it is most likely to lose to an ukaku-type ghoul because it surpasses a bikaku kagune in speed along with being able to attack from a further distance. A bikaku kagune is most efficiently used against a rinkaku-type ghoul, as it is able to cut off the brittle kagune with its strength.
Anteiku - peaceful neighborhood cafe for ghouls and humans
Anteiku is one of the only peaceful places in Tokyo where ghouls and humans can go safely. Now, humans see Anteiku as any other normal cafe, even though it's ran entirely by ghouls, but regardless, enter the cafe for a good snack and cup of coffee. Ghouls occasionally go there too, even some violent ones who eat humans when it's unnecessary. However, under the roof of Anteiku, no ghoul, no matter how much of a binge eater they may be, cannot hunt any human customers. Anteiku doesn't allow kakuja either, finding their habits of eating sickly.
Anteiku is also a sort of refuge, last resort, sort of place for ghouls who do not want to hunt humans, or for ghouls who are incapable of hunting humans. They store all their human meat in a fridge on the lower, underground floor, from humans who've committed suicide. Anteiku doesn't take human lives. Kakujas are the new villain in this plot. They are ghouls who cannibalize on their own kind, eating other ghouls. A while ago, the number of kakujas were low because cannibalizing was looking down upon by everyone. Plus, ghouls figured out that cannibalizing tasted almost as disgusting as eating human food, and that human meat tasted so much better than ghoul. This was in peaceful areas in Japan. Cannibalism was big in the more violent territories since there were either too many ghouls, or not enough 'food.' It was still a horrible and disgusting thing though, even back then in those areas.
Now, however, cannibalism has become a new source of power, but only for those that are capable of controlling it. When a ghoul eats another ghoul, that ghoul and their kagune undergo a transformation. They become stronger than any other ghoul beyond and the transformation diversities their abilities, making them an exceptionally difficult opponent. Not only that, but they also gain a new kagune that clads their body like armor, functioning just like one.
But the only risks for ghouls who decided to cannibalize is that that they tend to go insane and lose control of their independent thoughts while fighting. The reason for this is unknown, although ghouls like to believe (and investigators do believe) that the stronger a ghoul is, whether it be physically or mentally, the less of a chance that they have to go insane.

The rest are violent ghouls who purposely cause trouble for others, be it ghoul or human, good or bad, peaceful or threatening. They're not helpless either; it's why they're called solo players. These ghouls are entirely capable of protecting themselves, living with themselves, and feeding themselves. Many of these ghouls actually used to belong to a group. Maybe it's the kakuja, Anteiku, or smaller group that's been unheard of, but many of them belonged to something. At least 70% of them had something tragic happen to them that made them leave that group, which thus explains their lifestyle today.

╞ The ranks between ghoul investigators are to create a student-teacher sort of feeling (although it doesn't have to be that way) and the higher ranked investigator has a bit more experience with ghouls. They get more respect from their fellow CCG members, and get more access to top secret files and areas. A first class ghoul investigator will be paired with one of lower rank, and when paired, the two share the same responsibilities and gain the same privileges.
╞ Ghouls belonging to Anteiku can either live on the second floor (do not mistake with secret underground floor) or in their own home/apartment.
╞ Solo playing ghouls should start out as such, but can make visits to Anteiku, or whatever group they used to belong to (recommended Anteiku), and maybe join back with their group later in the roleplay.

✄ 1. Reservation - To reserve, please find the rule hidden somewhere here (it's not really even hidden anymore..). Afterwards, you have 48 hours to get up a wip, and then a few days to finish it unless you talk to me explaining why you can't. Sometimes I'll bend this rule, but don't count on it all the time. If you don't have a wip of your character up in the time given, I'll have to send you a PM warning you that your role could be taken. Any wip can be submitted in 48 hours, that is plenty of time, and it doesn't even need to be a good-looking wip. As long as it's there, it tells me that you're active and can/wants to rp. The character should be finished ASAP within the free time you have to complete them, and I'll send out warnings to those who don't have their character finished if it's a few days away from the start of the rp.
✄ 2. Rules - No, this isn't the hidden rule, but basically, stick to RPGway's rules and my rules. Three strikes and you're out, right?

✄ 4. Gore and Romance - 'Course this is all appreciated, and wanted, and loved, but lets not go into '30 Shades of Grey' romance or 'Elfen Lied' gore. Let's just not. Either PM it with whoever you're doing the do with, or fade to black,and for violence, let's not put blood in every single post possible. I'm a little more lenient on it since, in my opinion, I don't mind reading any gore. Just, don't describe the injury in full, complete, detail. That'd be gross. Keep the romance rules, but this is Tokyo Ghoul. It's more violent than Attack on Titan. I don't how bloody it is. It's meant to be. Which comes as a warning! Too all younger role-players who are interested, please be ready to read some very bloody and gory replies, as this will be just as violent as the manga/anime.
✄ 5. Story and Theme - Please relate to this theme and story! It'd be great if your characters looked as if they were of the era, and if your bio ties in with the plot, I swear. I will love you forever.Please accept my love.
✄ 6. Other - Any Tokyo Ghoul lovers out there? No? No. Ok... Yes? Well look at that! I spend 28 hours on this damn thing and I'm pretty proud with it! For those who don't know, this rp is entirely based off of Tokyo Ghoul, a mange, and new anime. Please watch it (be warned of gore!) but reading it would be much better because the anime it rushed and doesn't include all of the manga, so please read it instead, actually! (Also be wary of gore. Younger watchers should be warned that this anime/manga is just as bloodier, if not just as bloody, as Attack on Titan. Now then, who is your favorite charatcer(s) from Tokyo Ghoul? If you have no clue what Tokyo Ghoul is and just like this rp idea, thenREAD IT tell me which one of the role you, yourself, the role-player, would like to be. The drive from her small apartment to Anteiku was a mere ten minutes, fifteen if the stoplights decided to turn red on every turn. Today, all the lights were green, so she made it to work early. Rhiannon's stomach wasn't feeling very well when she began to walk through the doors though. She had some time to go down to the fridge to get her 'meal' before working. If she went to work while hungry, who knew what would happen to the costumers...
That's right, Rhiannon was a ghoul, but unlike some, she didn't crave the killing of humans nor the wanting to create chaos. She was peaceful, and actually envied humans more than anything. However, a ghoul was a ghoul. Nothing would change that. Rhiannon's attempts to digest human food had, overtime, ruined her health as a ghoul, and her fighting capabilities. Her rinkaku could hardly be called a way of selfdefense. It couldn't be used as a weapon either. All that human food and lack of actual human meat made her too weak to hunt for herself, therefore making a job at Anteiku hitting two birds with one stone; she had a source of food (although only when she desperately needed it) and a source of money.
Rhiannon didn't wave to anyone inside the cafe since she really began to feel the hunger. Thankfully, Anteiku wouldn't actually open for human customers for another 15 minutes, because if there were any humans in the room, they'd see a girl with ghoulish red eyes stumbling to the back of the cafe. 'I-I need to eat...' She thought, trying her hardest to contain the monstrous hunger. She found herself disgusting, ugly, and horrifying when she was truly hungry.
Once she made her way towards the secret fridge, the one that stored all the meat specifically and only for ghouls, she opened it up immediately. She could feel that urge to feast on something living nearby. No matter how human she wanted to act, a ghoul would always hunger for human flesh. Rhiannon grabbed a package and tore it open as quickly as possible before grabbing the piece of red meat and stuff it in her mouth. A satisfying feeling came over her.
The heavy breathing slowed down, the red in her eyes faded away to their usual hazel color. The girl had an urge to cry as she chewed the food, and then swallowed, but it was something that had to be done. She wasn't going to cry over something that silly. After heading to the bathroom afterwards, to clean up her face, fix her hair, and try to look normal again, she cleared her throat, and headed back to the cafe floor, where they would open shortly.
Rhiannon put on her usual normal-looking smile. At first glance, or maybe even second or third, Rhiannon looked just like a normal person. "Sorry about that sight." The waitress apologized to those who were in the room. She was about to recommend opening the shop early before the news on the TV caught her eye.
"-and yet another attack by a ghoul had happened, despite CCG assuming that they'd take care of the situation." On the TV, a man holding a microphone was speaking into the camera in front of what looked like a crime scene, but nothing could be seen due to the angle the cameraman chose. "The body appears to have been opened, and with the condition the rest of it is in, it appears to be the work of a ghoul, but not just any ghoul, a kakuja. The woman who was murdered this very morning has been confirmed to be a ghoul, and it has been known that only cannibalistic ghouls, or kakuja, eat their own kind. Lately...-"
"Huh..." Rhiannona murmured. "It looks like they're becoming more active lately. I didn't expect the population of cannibals to be so high though..." Rhiannon sighed with a shake of her head and had a seat at one of the vacant tables. The rising population of kakuja was a concern nowadays, but it wasn't only for humans. The lives of ghouls were at stake too.
The morning breeze was chilly, and water hit hit skin like the tips of feathers, pecking at him. It was sprinkling outside. Not enough to make your hair wet, or enough to leave the dark dots in your clothing, but the water could be felt on your skin. Ukyo Akihito looked up at the sky. It was cloudy, the clouds light grey, but it wasn't dark. The white morning sun hiding behind the clouds made the sky glow brilliantly.
Ukyo sighed. He normally slept during the day, but he didn't feel like sleeping right now. The weather was nice. It wouldn't hurt him to forfeit one night, or day, of sleep. And so he walked along the sidewalk, hands in his pockets, counting the sections in it aloud as he went.
"Ichi...ni...san...yon...go...roku...nana...hachi...kyū." He whispered. He spent his days like this now, being bored, doing trivial things just to keep his attention for a short amount of time, hoping the time would pass a little quicker. He tried getting jobs, but he could never seem to hold onto them. He came to a stop and lifted his head. In front of him was Anteiku, a coffee shop mostly aimed towards ghoul customers. About a third of the customers that came and went weren't human. He'd been inside a few times, himself.
He opened the door and walked in, sitting at a table by the windows. He didn't look at anybody, but he wondered if they were looking at him. Ukyo was known to be one of the ghouls that still hunted for food in the peaceful 20th Ward, so it would be strange for him to come into Anteiku.
