Ok guys, so, I'm still super jazzed about this RP. I will NOT let it die. Therefore, let's get the ball rolling here! This RP has SOOOO much potential to be amazing, and I can't ignore the silence any longer.

@Kokia, where you at buddy? If you don't want to play here anymore, could you at least let us know so we can move on?

@Amy, wanna toss up a first day kinda post? That might inspire some activity from the others as well.

@Ever, I completely agree. I'll bet there's a mandate that the two of them have to sit next to each other so their temperatures cancel each other out the ambient room temperature remains mostly stable. XP

As for the heart-warming gooey stuff, @Amy and @Ever, we'll just have to see. Kayden doesn't believe that love, of any kind, exists. He's never really known true friendship or romantic love before because he's spent his whole life experiencing nothing but aloofness, fear, or hatred from the Institute's workers during his brief interactions with them. Whatever love he might have experienced vanished from his life the day he first used his powers. There has never been anything even close to love in his life for twelve years, only physical pain, and the disdain directed at him by the RIST workers. The only thing that's come remotely close, is the respect he receives from the Doctor character, but even then, that's more of a begrudging admiration than anything. To the Doctor, Kayden is a particularly interesting and powerful experiment. Unless something huge happens to change that dynamic, all Kayden will ever feel from the Doctor character is respect. He will never trust, or even like the Doctor character. After all, that person is responsible for Kayden's imprisonment in the first place. The best Kayden could ever do for that person, outside of a life-changing, world-shaking event, would be the feeling one might have with a rival. Kayden would respect, and begrudgingly admire, the Doctor character's proficiency in keeping him locked up within the RIST, but only in the same way as one would amire the skill of a worthy opponent. There is respect, but there is also hatred. There can be no love or friendship there unless the Doctor character does something BIG for Kayden. Coming to terms with what Kayden is feeling for the other Subjects, on the other hand, will be really weird and hard for Kayden, even if trust and mutual friendship is all that comes of it. It will take him a while, if it ever even happens, for Kayden to believe that he is capable, and worthy, of loving someone else and feeling loved in return.

All that being said, let's get this thing rolling again! Should be fun, eh?

@Amy, you're the smartest person I know. I had been thinking about the dream walking and had been meaning to ask you about it. That seems like it would be a super good idea and I'm really interested in playing that out.

I had an idea for this really touching moment between the pair of them, that would have happened the first time Roman encountered Kayden's dreams. It would probably happen during one of Kayden's nightmares. He often dreams about his parents, and how they abandoned him at the RIST. I had this thought that at the end of his nightmare, after the other visions are gone, and it's just him, that's when she meets him. Kayden as Roman would still be dreaming, and when she enters the dream, it's nothing but darkness. Roman would hear the sound of a crying little boy. He's not sobbing loudly, or screaming, just crying quietly. She would, knowing Roman, probably approach the little boy and ask him what's wrong. The clichéd scene ensues and the little boy tells him that he wasn't crying, and all that jazz. Roman cheers the little boy up, and he asks if she wants to play, causing the scene to change to the layout of the RIST. Perhaps it's just a simple game of hide-and-seek, but the little boy asks her to catch him, and runs off into the RIST. Roman would go looking for the little boy, following the sound of his laughter to the Deep-Cold Solitary, where the real Kayden is. At that, Kayden would start to wake up, and this begins to sever their connection. At the end of the dream, right before they both wake up, the little boy tells her his name is Kayden, and that he hopes to see her again soon, so they can play some more.

My guess is, after that, Roman would do some digging and find out that Kayden is a real person, who still lives in the RIST. The next night, she might find him again, but instead of the little boy, this time it's the 18 year-old Kayden who's dream she entered the first time. They probably talk for a little bit, and before they both wake up again, Kayden asks if she'll bring a book for him next time. This results in the sort of, "regular," meetings between Kayden and Roman, which are responsible for their close relationship, even though they haven't seen each other in real life.

That was just how I imagined it happening in my head anyway. If you wanted to actually play out the night before the first, "day," of the game first, that would give the others a way to introduce themselves with a first post. Then, Kayden and Roman can have their last meeting before Kayden gets freed from Deep-Cold, I think it might be a great way to start the RP! :D

Otherwise, I agree 100% with your other statements. Their romantic relationship wouldn't happen right away, if at all, and I really just see them sharing a deep bond of friendship and respect. I too also see their relationship being very strong, regardless of where we decide to go with it, though I think platonic is the way to go here. I feel like they might just be beyond words, that they don't even need to speak with each other to get the point across. This would only be strengthened by their dream interactions.

Those are my thoughts on the matter anyway. Thanks for the earlier encouragement! As I said, it should be fun. It's very out of character for me, so I hope I do alright. :P

@Amy, I'm all done now. So, after re-reading the intro, I realized that Kayden's history was WAAAAAY more involved with the RIST than it had to be. I've had him there since he was three years old. Oops. XP I hope that's ok? If not, I can change it.

After making this character, I kinda realized why I don't play peeps like him anymore. Kayden's an @$$hole and I'm, generally, not.

That being said, I do like his character, and I am excited to begin play! I look forward to our character interactions! That is, if Kayden ever manages to be well-behaved enough to get out of Deep-Cold Solitary Confinement. (His permanent quarters in the basement.) Or get his muzzle removed.... No promises there. XP

This brings me to my next point! Getting Kayden out of the basement.

I thought that a good way to get Kayden out of the basement would be to have Kokia's character, the Parapsychologist, introduce some kind of, "deal," to Kayden. Kayden gets to take off his muzzle and live with the others like he used to, but, he has to behave himself and give willing participation in the tests. He has to, not only, refrain from maiming/killing the attendants, guardsmen, and other staff, but he has to give his all in the tests administered by the RIST officials. Obviously, Kayden would accept, but he would still have to be very closely monitored.

This would allow Kayden to be an active part in the RP, which brings me to another point! Kayden's thoughts on the others!

Kayden is, sort of, a Veteran at the RIST. Therefore, by the time the others arrived, or so I imagine, Kayden would have already been at the RIST for some time. The would have had a good amount of time to already form some kind of rapport between himself and the others. That being said, according to Kayden's history section, which is in literal shambles, he's been spending increasingly longer amounts of time in his chambers, the Deep-Cold Solitary Confinement. As such, he'd be generally a lot more apathetic with the others, and may not even like them as much as he used to before. That being said, what follows depends on Kayden's history being approved or in need of change. Obviously, I'll post again to re-define my points based on possible changes, if and when they happen.

For now, however, let's proceed as if my history section IS ok. Before I start, it should be noted that Kayden doesn't do friendly things very well. He would definitely respect the others, and be calm and mildly apathetic around them, but he would definitely NOT be trying his hardest to piss the others off or become instant best friends with them either. While he'd like to be friendly with the others again, he's not quite sure how, so to speak. Kayden's been treated pretty horribly during his time at the RIST. This isn't anyone's fault per say, but the RIST itself is just full of bad memories for him. Therefore, it'll take some time before he can fully trust people. That being said, I shall now create specific reactions to each character!

@Amy, I think Kayden and Roman would have a sort of unspoken agreement to be pleasant around each other. Kayden would definitely respect her fiery personality and her willingness to put up with the harsher tests in order to save the others from them. Kayden's not that noble, and he would really respect that about her. There's a strong possibility for romantic love here, but it would take a good bit of time and effort on Roman's part, if she even wanted to. Obviously, Kayden's open to love from anyone, but I really see him truly loving and admiring Roman as a person.

@Makenna, I think Kayden and Varius would get along rather well. Both of them aren't big talkers, but I think that they would tacitly come to some sort of agreement to be pleasant with each other. I don't think that Kayden would enjoy the flowery kind of way that Varius talks, but I don't think that it would make Kayden dislike him either. Rather, I think it would serve more as a way to initiate a friendly sort of rapport, opposites attract and all that. They'd be like... pretty much every paring of best friends in Shounen Manga ever: Naruto and Sasuke, Ichigo and Uryuu, Toriko and Sunny, Natsu and Grey, Zoro and Sanji... The list goes on and on. This relationship lends itself well to romance, if Varius is homo/bi/pan-sexual, but that, once again, depends on Varius. Kayden's not the type to be romantically attached all that easily.

@Kokia, I wrote some biz about Kayden, my character, being sort of friendly with the Parapsychologist in my CS, and I think that still stands, even though I haven't seen your CS yet. Obviously, if your character is a total psychopath, then Kayden won't like him, but I believe, from the intro, that the Parapsychologist is supposed to, at the very least, feel some sort of sympathy for the kids in the Raven Institute for Specialty Teens. Therefore, I don't think Kayden's hatred will be an issue here. If you read Kayden's Personality Section, you'll notice that he treats the Parapsychologist like a parental-figure, but their relationship isn't very close. Kayden respects him/her, but doesn't trust them. This gives us a little bit of rapport, but allows us to become closer or more distant over the course of the RP. A neutral starting point, if you will. Unfortunately, within love, there must be equality, and at the end of the day, the Parapsychologist is still higher on the ladder than Kayden is. Kayden won't be anyone's servant or anyone's second-choice. I don't see romance being established here. Sad day. D:

@Ever, I feel that a possibility exists, between Alice and Kayden, to form a hilarious, comical rapport. He's so stoic and relaxed, and he barely even talks, and Alice is, kind of, all over the place. I don't think that Kayden would hate Alice, but she would definitely be able to get him flustered, and out of his own pace quite easily with a well-placed question or two. I see some real hilarity growing here, and I think that it should be explored. As with the others, I can see Kayden becoming attached to Alice, and developing romantic attachment to her, but it would take some effort on her part. However, given her flirty and curious personality, I can definitely see that romantic attachment happening much quicker than in the other cases, as such violent... stirrings within Kayden's heart would get him out of his doldrums much quicker that the slower burn that would be established in the other cases.

Would you allow me to take the last male role?

I'm thinking that I won't use a beast-like power, as my other characters in your games always were, and I would like to be different from Makenna's character. I know that it says not to double up on powers in the Rules, but I, personally, don't like seeing stuff that's too similar.

Instead, I was thinking of using something akin to the Fire Dragon Slayer Magic that exists in the Fairy Tail universe. In short, he would be a pyrokinetic of sorts, with a basis in physical combat.

Would that be ok? If not, I can think of something else.

Could I snatch up resident two, with human shape-shifting and mimicry?
It's a set of abilities I often use, and his eyes will be an unchangeable purple, his tell-tale sign.
