Forbidden love has always seemed like such a tempting topic in many peoples minds. There are worlds of literature based around that very conflict, some more famous than others. The idea of loving something to your very core, only to know it's something that is practically unobtainable has a melancholic drama about it that many seem to fantasize about. However, those fantasies go out the door once who experience this type of love for yourself.
For centuries, there has been a great divide over Angel and Demon kind. Angels are the children of God, the protectors of the Heavens, while the Demon are the children of Death, the beings of the underworld. A war broke out many years ago, and despite it coming to a lull, It's never truly ended- nor will it ever. The only hope for any sort of normalcy is the human world, a ground that has been used as neutral territory. Many Angel and Demon alike send to raise there children there, so they don't get caught in the bitter conflicts of each of their own worlds. This is where are story begins. Two boys of the Angel race and Two Girl and the Demon race were unlucky enough to cross paths. What seemed like an innocent enough love at first has ended quickly, each hiding who they are from the other.
One of the demon girls, however, is royalty in their realm, and when the angels parents find out about their relationship, they use it to their advantage and kidnap and torture them for the benefit of their people.
What will become of the pairs now?

A god damn bird, a blue jay, had landed on her head and she only wished she had a camera with her to take proof of it. She didnโt even want to move an inch, both because she kinda wanted it to stay there for the pure enjoyment of the peculiar situation, but also because she didnโt want it to sink itโs weird bird talons into her head as those birds were known too be a little aggressive; or worse, she didnโt want it to let out of some bodily function because sheโd spooked it.
Sheโd left her loft in the early evening, careful not to wake her snoring brother in the room next to hers who was taking one of his many popular naps. She took off on her motorcycle, but wasnโt really planning on going anywhere- just around. She did that a lot. It was nice living in the city of Chicago, sure once youโve lived their for awhile it loses some of itโs specialness, and its unique qualities blend in and become the โnormโ, but Jace always liked to just drive around, discovering new tucked away places and things to do. This time, she had discovered a new hiking trail, one that was obviously just naturally made by peoples foot steps who followed suite one after the other. She ended up in a small clearing area after following down it twenty minutes or so. It was surrounded by a bunch of wild flowers and trees, and she took spot on a fallen tree trunk, just to sit and stay awhile. Sheโd always felt comfortable around nature, simply content with being surrounded by it and not really doing anything. So there she sat, and thatโs when the bird flew down upon her head, and so decided to stay for a half an hour straight.
She really needed to be getting home before her brother woke up and freaked out at her for just leaving, especially without taking her phone with her. Dorian was always a little moreโฆ overprotective. He had actually disowned and left the family when he was very young- not wanting to live the life style Jaceโs parents had set up for him. The royal life style, especially of demons, was one with some serious responsibilities and expectations. This left their next of kin, their only daughter, in line for the title. That person was Jace. Her brother who was nearly six years her senior let her live with him in the human world when she turned eighteen, however. This was mostly because he felt bad dumping all the responsibilities on her. This let her live as normal of a life she could- if only for a little while. She was nineteen now, Dorian being twenty five, but he still treated her as a kid. Over protective brothers sound nice and all, until you actually have one.
Itโs probably why she hung out with her best friend Kelila so much and stayed over at her place a bunch.
Jace was getting a little anxious, now more then ever not knowing what to do with the bird. She was trying to come up with multiple ideas in her head, but the sound of a snapping twig had started it enough that it flew away without so much as giving Jace a scratch. She cheered a little bit in her head. Getting up from the log quickly, she ran down the trail and hopped onto her motorcycle, which she left tucked away behind some bush. Turning it on, she pulled back onto the road, and made her way back to her apartment.
Walking up the slightly more than creepy stone stair well, up to the ninth floor, she muttered a silent curse to the broken elevator which was supposed to be fixed more than two days ago. She was just glad she didnโt live on the twentieth floor. Opening the steel door to her floor, she twirled her keys in her fingers, humming softly to herself as she approached her door, swinging it open, only to be greeted by an agitated sounding brother. โWhere were you!โ He grumbled to her, stalking towards her with some serious bed head. โMaking an animal friend,โ she smiled teasingly, removing her leather jacket and dumping her helmet on the couch. โWell, your phone has been buzzing non-stop.โ He mumbled tiredly, before stalking back into his own bedroom. Jaceโs eyes shot open in surprise, as she went to check her phone which was filled with textโs from Kelila, double checking if she was still on for dinner which she was fifteen minutes late for at this point. Jace was always this forgetful, so she wouldnโt be surprised to hear that Kelila herself would have just gotten to the restaurant now, or if she waited for her conformation text.
Quickly unlocking the cell phone, she shot her a text saying, 'I didnโt forget, Iโm on my way now!'

Who in their right mind would even dream of writing a book about some silly sparkling vampire who basically calls a girl a hard core drug in order to get his feelings across. Who wants to be told โYeah, I really just want to kill you and suck your bloodโ romantically? Then again, Ezra was a twenty one year old male, and not a teenage girl obsessed with young adult fiction and these types of romances, but he couldnโt exactly see what the exact craze was. Maybe he could get past the odd family bond going on and the fact the dude was kind of a dick in his own way in order to see the dark and unknowing romance as a plus, but that was kind of it. In all honestly he was more emotionally invested to the background characters and their own stories rather then the two that were offered to him. He had spent the whole bloody day finishing the Twilight book, and he felt rotted to the core. The only reason he started reading it in the first place was because he met some girl in the book store who actually suggested it to him, tempting him with the fact it was about vampires. Ezra liked his old supernatural folkelore, but this was not at all what he had been suspecting it to be. As it turns out also, thereโs three more freaking books he was going to have to read because now he was curious and invested, and couldnโt just end the series without knowing what happens. They even made movies of the things, and he could only imagine the shuddering horror of viewing it. As it is, Ezra already hates televisions and movies, so it was just all too much for him.
Tucking the book under his arm, he stood up from his lawn chair which he had put on his buildings roof top, his favourite place to be, only to notice it was going dark outside. He had been up here since the late morning reading all 498 pages, and it looks like the time past right bye him.
Making his way back into his tiny apartment, he threw the book on the coffee table where a bunch of others where scattered, before moving into his tiny kitchenette area. Filling his growing old kettle with water, he turned it on, hopping onto his counter as he waited for it it boil. Pulling his phone out his back pocket, he noticed a few notifications but ignored them, just simply checking the time. Ezra wasnโt the biggest fan of technology. He barley ever used his phone unless needed, and even if he did, he wasnโt exactly tech savvy. He often had to ask his best friend Nathan about what some of the more weird features where.
The kettle started whistling, and he moved off the counter to turn it off. Reaching into his dishwasher, the boy grabbed a mug and filled it with the hot water afterwards putting a cheap branded earl grey tea bag in it. He took a sip of the scolding hot cup and was satisfied. It was around time for dinner, and he knew a tea wasnโt quite going to satisfy his cravings, so he moved swiftly around to all his cupboards, checking for things to eat. Most of it was soup cans or kraft dinner, as he really needed to go shopping, but he wasnโt feeling it. He could pop over to the grocery store quick and pick up some ingredients, as he was a fairly good cook, but it just seemed like too much effort. So, there was a third plan. Grabbing his jacket from the coat rack by the door, he left the house, cup of tea in hand, making sure to lock the door behind him. He sometimes wanted to test out if someone would break into his house, thinking it be funny for someone to actually steal from an Angel. Wouldnโt that be the story to tell.
As soon as he stepped onto the concrete side walk, he opened a new carton of cigarettes and stuck one in his mouth, doing so all one handed. He then lit it up with his almost empty lighter, and he slightly wish he could manipulate fire instead of being able to dream walk. However, that was a pretty well known Demon trait and not at all an Angel one, so he pushed the thought to the back of his head. Making his way southward, he got a couple of looks as he kept drinking from his mug, but he was used to it. This really was just a normal Ezra thing to do.
About ten minutes later, he arrived at another building, and stood outside the locked glass doors. He would have needed to buzz Nathanโs number in order for him to let him up, but an elderly lady walked out the doors and Ezra held it open for her. After she walked away, he stomped out the cigarette, and strolled right inside and into the elevator, taking him up to his best friends floor, and ultimately to his door.
Knocking on it, he called, โItโs the man of your dreams!โ after chugging down the rest of his tea. He knew the boy inside would know exactly who it was, however, a woman walked by just as he said it, and despite the odd glance she gave him, he simply winked back in her direction before turning his attention back to the door in front of him.

XXXKelila may have or may have not drank a little bit too much the night before. It wasn't her fault - she swears. Growing up practically in a club, made changing to a lifestyle different a lot harder than she believed. She was pretty sure she ended up dancing on some bar last night. She couldn't really remember. There wasn't much for her to worry about when trying to think back on the event, as she probably looked damn good doing so. She knew the part scene like the back of her hand, and even if she didn't look that great, she doubted anyone would remember anyway.
XXThe alarm on her phone woke her up in the mid afternoon, and her head throbbed - the aftermath of a long night. "Girls Night With Bae" was the alert on her phone, and she groaned when she had almost forgotten that it was today. Either this meant another night of drinking, or a night to hit every store and salon in the city - doing dumb shit afterwards. Kelila loved her best friend for the fact that no matter what they did, they had a good time. Honestly she had no bitter memories with her friend. Every so often they would bicker about something small, but at the ends of those nights they'd be talking on the phone about hot guys they passed on the street.
XXShe drug herself out of bed, throwing up the covers in a failed attempt to remake the bedding. Kelila only slept in a large T-Shirt with some weird phrase on it from some place they had visited oh so long ago. She peaked through dark curtains that took up an entire wall, exposing a view of the city. The sun still shined, though it was getting later. Their dinner reservation, wasn't too far off - as in a few hours. Kelila took that time to take a shower and get dressed, making herself look not so hung over, and actually presentable to the world. Her naturally curly hair driving a lot of trouble and groans of frustration. She readied a makeup bag for her purse on her bathroom counter and she looked at herself one last time, grabbing the large bag and taking the keys from the key rack on the table near her door.
XXKelila took the elevator from her penthouse down to the garage to get her car. She owned two cars. A more practical one, and a sports car. Judging by the weather, she chose her sports car, being able to drive with the top down being a favorite of hers.
XXIt didn't take her long at all to get into the heart of downtown, as that was where she lived. But it did take her longer to find a place to park her car. In the end she pulled into the front of the restaurant and got vallet parking. The option wasn't ideal. The girl didn't exactly trust anyone with her precious car. While many dressed terribly nice for such a place, Kelila was almost a regular. They didn't dare say anything about her flannel. The interior of the restaurant was as she remembered. A perfect view of the city. They informed her that the table was ready, and she nodded to them.
"We'll be there in a second, I'm going to wait in the front for her" she told the host, earning a smile before she walked back out, leaning against the glass for Jace. She took off the leather jacket, only because for once Chicago wasn't cloudy. It was actually warm.
XXShe figured because of the nice weather, Jace would be riding her motorcycle. Thinking on it, she was never not riding her motorcycle. It was one of these days that she feared something would happen with the vehicle. Kelila liked Jace's motorcycle, but not the fact that it took one stupid person for her friend to be killed. Even demons could die, not easily, but it was always a possibility. They had gone through far too much for anything to happen to either one of them. Kelila would do anything for the girl. She was the closest thing she's ever had to a family.
XXWhile waiting she sat down on the pavement, resting her head in her hand. Feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket she rolled her eyes at the text before sending her own.

XXXPlaying the piano always calmed him down. After the air conditioning in his apartment broke he wasn't in the best of moods. The one time Chicago wasn't cold, it was hot as hell. All the pun intended. He wasn't amused by the gross temperature in his apartment. Sleeping wasn't something he could do when he felt like turning into a puddle. He loved bright skies and beautiful weather, but not - this.
XXXThe day was spent trying to cool down. He even ended up laying on the tile floor of his bathroom in an attempt to be cool. From that he took a morning run to only find it didn't help a damn thing. Instead he took a shower afterwards. It helped until he stepped back out. To the typical person this weather was nothing bad, but to him, it felt terrible. He was burning alive it felt like.
XXXEven the plants in his window were suffering because of the heat. He watered them all slowly, but felt the life of them seep away. With the touch of his finger tips upon the leaves, the color surged back into the plant, it going to it's healthiest state once more. That was the only reason Nathan was an exceptional gardener. He could heal anything that went wrong. Plants weren't complicated to fix, unlike people. People took time, and patience. It took sessions of healing, layers of fixing. Nathan actually looked into nursing, just to help people. The human world, it took far too long to do such a thing though. He didn't want to spend 8 years in school. So he volunteered instead. That way, he could help people. Not having tons of money was sometimes a downside - but he wasn't for material things. Nathan found life itself much more valuable.
XXXWith no food in the pantry, he was starving. But with no motivation to leave his apartment to go grocery shopping, he played the piano instead. Nathan had grown to the ability of making beautiful songs of his own. He memorized pieces he made himself. His job around town was playing piano for money. Whether it be for restaurants, shows, or shopping centers. It made him enough to maintain his lifestyle. Which wasn't that expensive either way. All he needed was his apartment, his instruments, and right at the moment - air conditioning. It was the little things that made him happy.
XXXHe had drank at least four glasses of water when he heard a knock on the door, and a familiar voice ring cheerfully on the other side. Of course, there was only one person he ever expected to visit him. The voice was a dead give away. Together the two friends always ended up being loud, in which he had gotten in trouble once before for the volume of their voices. The walls of his apartment being paper thin.
"Wait a second hunny bunny" he joked, walking over to the door to unlock it, removing the chain there. Seeing Ezra he looked at the mug in his hands, and then back up at him in disbelief.
"How are you drinking that. It's 800 degrees out" he exclaimed, taking the cup out of his hands and putting in into the sink. He leaned against the counter, looking at his friend. "What's up. You only find me when you need something. I'm like your booty call. We can't do this anymore" he said dramatically.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
He just shrugged at his comment, saying, โwell, I think itโs actually hotter in here then it is outside. Anyways, Itโs never a bad time for tea. I feel wounded, as a friend, that you donโt know that,โ he scoffed, glancing over as he tossed the mug into the sink. In all honestly, that cup wasnโt even Ezraโs. It was actually Nathans. Maybe. It really could be someone elseโs entirely. He had a habit of helping himself to tea in other peoples houses and just kind of leaving with their mugs in hand, or leaving his own mugs at other peoples houses. He barley had any cups that matched in his apartment anymore. He wouldnโt be surprised if he had left his mugs- well actually, at this point other peoples mugs- scattered around the whole city.
Ezra practically summersaulted over the back of his couch and he landed upside down, head hanging off of the edge. โAnd your right, I do need you for something, Iโm hungry,โ he complained twisting himself so he sat upright on the couch, putting his feet up on the coffee table. โI was honestly going to ransack through your cupboards, but I canโt be in your apartment right now, Itโs like hell,โ He droned on, giving a snort for the pure ironicalness of his use of hell. โLike seriously, you must be satan to be able to live in here,โ he continued on with the now running joke.
Popping back off the couch, he looked around the apartment and grabbed a random coat her found, tossing it at his friend so it landed on his head. โCome on then, we donโt have all damn day, we're going out to eat,โ he said loudly, making his way to the door and stepping outside in the hall, waiting for his friend to follow suite.
As they made their way outside of the building and now into the darkened evening streets of Chicago, Ezra began walking no where in particular. He really had no idea where he was going, but was sure heโd run into a good looking reasonably priced restaurant soon enough. He span around every fourth-or-so lamp post and sang some annoying song lyric every time, ignoring every odd stare he got, yet he couldnโt continue ignoring for long. He went to spin around a lamppost of the corner of the street, but as he did, he outstretched to far, almost smacking into an on going motorcyclist. He would have too, except the person swerved out of the way and the bike fell over, the person coming off along with it.
Well, shit, he thought.

XXXShe couldn't a remember a time she had been so bored. Other than the times she was scolded by her family for being too charitable. If anyone knew Kelila, charitable wouldn't be a word chosen by anyone else. Sitting on her bottom on the side of the most renowned restaurant in Chicago was surely a sight to be seen. It was when a host came out with crystal wine glass of water.
XXXKelila watched the people walk by. Some eyeing her strangely, some even checking her out. She only rolled her eyes at those people, grabbing her phone from her pocket and seeing there was no text from Jace. That mean she had to be near, or close. The girl could only hope. She was hungry, hungover, and terribly bored. She spotted two men walking along the sidewalk opposite of her, one swinging around the lamppost, singing loudly for all the hear. She couldn't help but raise a brow at the sight. At least someone, somewhere was having fun.
XXXSpeaking of the devil, the thought only making her snicker, a familiar motorcycle and rider came around the corner. She was about to make a face at Jace until she saw the motorcycle swerve with an uncontrollable movement that she knew Jace wasn't in charge of. Her friend may have drove recklessly, but not like that. That's when she knew something was very wrong. Everything happened quickly after. Kelila watched, her feet already moving towards her friend, cars close to hitting her as she crossed the road without even looking. She only stuck a middle finger up in response as her friend nearly flew into the one that was swinging around the pole, instead barreling into the man next to him, who looked almost embarrassed by his friend's behavior, unable to see his face once Jace rammed into him.
XXXShe ran to where they were now on the concrete, practically pushing past the guy who was nearly hit, and moving Jace off of the guy that she fell into. Quickly she examined over her best friend, watching her chest to ensure it was rising up and down.
"Jace, holy fuck. Are you alright?" she asked frantically, kneeling down next to her, not as concerned for the man who made for her friends landing pad.

XXXWhen Ezra walked into his apartment, he could only laugh at his words. Nathan rolled his eyes at his friend, going to sitting down on the couch.
"It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it. Something that you haven't figured out yet. It's a wonder why the girls never call you back" Nathan quipped back, watching Ezra flip over his couch like a small kid. Any joke made about heaven or hell had him laughing. Though, he had a harder time smiling about heaven. Heaven was as corrupt as any place. He was familiar on the customs of hell, but he thought that many should have been sent there instead.
XXLearning of Ezra's true intentions to his arrival, he was glad. Not only was he starving as well, but with Ezra it was bound to be far more fun going into the city than by himself. He'd most likely end up giving his money away to someone who looked like they needed it more, resulting in the lack of food for the day.
XXAs they walked down the streets of the notorious city, his best friend was only well...being Ezra. Wild, random, quirky. He didn't really know how to describe the man to anyone they encountered. Nathan liked to joke that Ezra's only redeeming quality was his hair. In which Nathan was rather jealous of. He'd never been fond of the curls in his hair.
XXTurning the corner, with hands in his pocket, he looked around. A rather exclusive restaurant it seemed. A girl was sitting on the outside, and if he didn't know better, he would of thought she needed help. He was looking at the entrance, and then the host who seemed to give her a glass before he was knocked back - hard - onto the grey concrete below.
XXNathan could only hear yelling as his ears rang, the wind being knocked straight out of him. He saw doubles, and groaned as he moved his arm up to cradle his head on the concrete floor, someone, he didn't recognize who, running to the girl's aid who had seemed to knock straight into him. Quickly the girl was pushed off of him, allowing him to breath, but at the same time, feeling too dazed to get up from off the ground.
XXThankfully the recovery of an angel was quick. Even quicker with the fact that healing was what he did best. He slowly got to his feet, leaning against the brick wall of a shop behind them. He looked at the girl who seemed to be in the same state of shock as he. Nathan stepped a bit closer, looking to Ezra before down back at the girl. The angel didn't sense any immediate danger, and he only knelt as well.
"Do you think you can get up? There should be somewhere we can get you to get checked up" he spoke calmly despite the rasp in his voice as he tried to get air back into his body.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Turning back around, she leaned against the wall as her tired and disheveled brother came stalking back in front of her, scratching his curly locks. In all honesty, she couldnโt exactly see the resemblance between them. When they were kids, yeah the resemblance was there, but since respectively growing up, they grew out of the features that they once shared. One big thing people brought up was that her brother was quite freckled, whereas Jace barley had any noticeable markings on her body. He also had dark eyes like the rest of her family, where she had insanely light green ones. She didnโt know where she got them from actually, as far as she knew all her family had either brown or dark hazel. Most demons had dark eyes, it was a shared trait amongst them, and it was a rarity for such light eyes to be found amongst their kind. So far, the only light eyed demons sheโd ever met other then herself was Kelila and an elderly man when she was very young.
โWhere you goinโ?โ He questioned, going over to lounge on one of the many couches in the all too big loft. โOut for dinner,โ she stated back, trying to make a b-line for the door again, to no prevail. โCan I come?โ He questioned again, which only got a quirked eyebrow raise in response from Jace. She knew what he was doing. Lately Jace had the habit of going out and not coming back till late morning or afternoon the next day. Mostly she stayed over at Kelilaโs, but sometimes it wasnโt even that, sheโd just go around the city on her bike and before she knew it the day had come and gone in an instant. Dorian probably just wanted to make sure she was safe and that she actually did come home. She was thankful, really, but no way in hell was she going to let him come. He had a tendency to argue with Kelila, him always being the one to start it. And once he started on an argument, and once he made up his mind, no way in hell was someone going to stop him.
โNot this time, but weโll go out tomorrow, okay?โ She compromised back, a hopeful tone in her voice. He gave her a long stare, one that said he was contemplating but was not happy he had to do so. โFine, but bring me back something to eat okay? Iโm staaaarving.โ He groaned, in which earned a role of the girls eyes. โYeah yeah, your highness,โ she huffed with a small giggle. He hated it when she called him that, and she knew very well of that fact. Before he could shoot back an insult at her, however, she raced out the door.
Going down into the tenants only garage, she opened the gate to her lofts personal area. There sat her motorcycle, two of her brothers cars, and her own car her parents had bought her on her eighteenth. They actually tried to buy her more, but she outrightly refused. She didnโt like spending money on things she knew was useless spending money on, however she did tend to splurge on things she loved a little shamelessly. And example being the no-scratch paint on her motorcycle. She figured one car was good if it put her parents and her brothers mind at ease that she wasnโt always on the bike, but one was more than enough as is. She really only took it out if it was raining, and put itโs top up. That or if she was taking a trip somewhere with more then just herself. Pushing all that back, she made her way over to the custom red bike and hopped on. Fastening on her helmet, she turned on the bikes ignition and raced away, off to meet her friend.
She was maybe fifteen or so minutes from the restaurant, and was dreading having to face Kelila after being so late. She wouldnโt be surprised if sheโd gotten there and learned her friend had bought some silly new toy, only to punish her by saying, โand theres no way your using it!โ
That, however, turned out to be the least of her worries in the end.
Turning onto the road the restaurant lay on, she was glad she was almost there, but a sudden jolt sent her in worry. Right in front of her, out of seemingly nowhere, a curly headed boy swung around one of the many lamp posts, almost smacking right into her as he belted out some lyrics to โSomewhere Over the Rainbow.โ One thing led to another, and her bike started skidding out from under her. So, she did the one thing she knew how to do; jump off, tuck and roll, and hope for the best.
She landed as best she could for falling off her bike, only feeling herself smash her left knee onto some pavement, but her heart stopped the moment she realized sheโd also rammed right into something, or better yet, someone. Everything happened so quickly. In an instant she felt herself being pulled off the thing sheโd smashed right into, and muffled voices could be heard from the ringing in her ears, but she couldnโt exactly make out who. Taking off her helmet, her hair fell in a pool around her shoulders, and she rubbed the corner of her eyes, before glancing over at her best friend right in the face.
She started giggling.
โDid you see that!โ She exclaimed, looking down at her custom helmet, noticing one of the wings clipped in half as the other piece lay in the middle of the road. โItโs a good thing Dorian didnโt come,โ she snorted on, looking down at her skinned knee. In all honestly, a more normal human being would have been more banged up by the fall, but all she had was ripped tights and a badly road burned leg. She was about to get up off the pavement, before another voice, a boys, rang out in all the commotion.
Looking over at the guy, who she so clearly had taken down with her, her big eyes opened larger in shock and concern as she scrambled over to him, taking his face in both of her hands as she examined him in worry. โOh god, I am so sorry, are you okay? Did yo-โ she cut herself off as she went rigged on the spot, hand still clutching the boys face, as she noticed the blood under his nose.
Blood. Freaked. Her. Out.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Only a second later after the girl had come crashing into his best friend, another girl came over and without a care in the world about Nathan, went to check on the motorcyclist. Ezra actually thought that she was a he upon first reaction until she took her helmet off and started laughing. He didnโt even notice she had been wearing shorts on the bike, which she was probably now regretting considering how scuffed up her legs looked.
This whole situation was just odd, and it had all started with him singing. He wasnโt that bad, was he?
Stepping over to the girl who was giggles friend, his now appointed nickname for the motorcyclist, he leaned over and said to her, โyou should get a camera, this would make one hell of a memory.โ It was a habit of his, yes, to take photos of weird situations. He liked to take photoโs. He could actually take one right now if he wanted to, he was pretty sure his phone had a camera on it, but heโd have to get Nathan to teach him how to use it, and he seemed rather busy at the moment with the girl who now had her hands clutched to each side of his face, ignoring his own questioned about her wellbeing and shooting the same things back to him as if she didnโt even hear him in the first place.
However, she soon stopped rambling, which gave Ezra a feeling of utter confusion. โWhatโs up with giggles?โ He asked, glancing back over at her friend. โLooks as if sheโs seen a ghost,โ he comment with a bit of a sigh, looking back over his shoulder as passer-bys looked over at the odd situation with equally as odd stares. Ezra was quick to notice how the girls bike was toppled over, and as common curtsy, as he actually was the one who caused the incident in the first place, picked it up and propped it on the kick stand, moving it unto the side walk so no cars came crashing into it. It was one hell of a nice bike, and he felt so bad about her crashing it, but on further inspection, it seemed relativelyโฆ fine. It had no scratches on the body of it, so he began studying it with a closer eye. Turns out one of the handles bars was slightly crooked, but maybe it wasnโt the best time to bring it up, so instead he stepped back beside giggles friend, who also upon further inspection, was pretty cute.
Score one for Ezra.

Her mouth was open in disbelief. The gall of her best friend, giggling after scaring the hell out of her. Literally. She narrowed her eyes at Jace and frowned.
XXX"No. If you would have not had a human landing pad, you would've been smashed into lil' bitty pieces, that I would need to clean" she huffed before a sly smile broke her lips. "It was kinda cool though". The admittance of the fact made her sigh inwardly. She really ought to be a tad more mature about such matters. If something were to happen to her friend she wouldn't have been able to live with herself.
Kelila could only snicker about Dorian. She wasn't as fond of her uptight brother. They constantly battled. Whether it be because Kelila was the reason that Jace was often not home, or because Kelila was no so called "angel" she didn't know. Just because of their battle of wits, Kelila constantly made fun of Dorian. The relationship was an interesting one to say the least.
She took a look over her friend who hadn't had much damage done to her at all. Besides a few scrapes and the rip in her tights, she was fine.
XXX"Hmm, now you can pass as a grungy hipster" she teased, looking to her side where a taller guy spoke to her of taking a picture. "I don't know if I want more photos of her doing stupid shit...alone anyway" Her friend scrambled to look at her human body shield, and when the life drained from her face - she knew why. The guy that stood next to her was having a harder time putting the pieces together. The nickname he gave Jace only made her smile slightly. "Blood" she mouthed.
With an overly dramatic sigh she took a step towards where Jace was examining the guy. Peeling Jace's hands from his face, she spun her around to face the other direction. Giving her friend the beautiful view of a brick wall and an ashtray.
XXX"As Jace was saying, she sincerely apologizes for swan diving into you and hopes you are not dead, only risen to life for this brief moment to heroically check if she was alright" her words to the human shield spoken quickly as she pulled tissues from her purse. Kelila practically shoved them at the guy.
XXX"Enough blood and she'll flip out worse. I don't want your day getting any shittier" . It was strange that she was being the responsible one, or so, she felt. A real change from her times at the club. She'd have to mention to Jace that they would need to take turns with such behavior.

The laughter coming from the girl who had flung straight into him honestly caught him off guard. Out of all the reactions, that wasn't one that he would have expected. Tears were something that seemed more logical. Groaning, fear, anything but laughter. The sound was contagious, and he couldn't help but laugh along, even if the words that followed weren't directed to him.
It was a continuous surprise when he felt hands smooth across his luckily cleanly shaven face. The worry in what Ezra called the girl, Giggles, was present despite her just laughing. It didn't take long at all before that mood was shifted once again into something he didn't really know how to describe. If anything, she looked like she saw someone from the past or a ghost if he wanted to think in a less deep manner.
Perhaps it was the man in him that made him pause his attention on anything else when the girl was so close to him. It was no lie that she was gorgeous. Bright eyed, dark haired, seemingly positive. He gave credit to anyone who was able to smile after being shot from a motorcycle.
Only a moment passed as he gazed, trying to find words. The hands were removed from his face, and he remembered the look that the girl wore. Had he had something on his face? Did Ezra do something to him that he was unaware of? He soon saw the back of the girls head, and then felt something running down his nose. With a fingertip, it confirmed what he was initially thinking. Of course he had a bloody nose.
He took the tissue that was shoved at him by what seemed like to be a close friend of the girl. Only judging by the quick response. The way she phrased her words reminded him of Ezra, and he let out a short laugh, dabbing the blood, then pinching his nose.
XXX"Don't worry about it. It could have been worse. I'm just glad she wasn't hurt, motorcycle accidents are really no joke" he said, trying to wave off the small injury. He'd keep the fact that now his whole body ached to himself. Hearing her friend speak of the phobia, he only nodded, trying his best to get the blood to stop. Nathan may have cheated by using his powers on himself. Seconds passed and the blood was gone. The only sign it ever happened was the blood on the tissue, in which he crumbled. He'd throw it away as soon as he could.
XXX"Mind if I ask what you were rushing for" he asked, the question tossed at either girl. Looking at Ezra, he only caught his friend checking out the shorter friend. He couldn't really be talking though.

Leaning her head against the cool brick of the building, she didn't feel as if she wanted to turn around at all. She didnโt know what to do, sheโd just made a complete ass of herself, and to make things worse, Kelila was being the responsible one. That never happened. Tonight was just off balance, like the world had shifted in some weird turn of events. However, she was going to face it, head on like she did everything else that was presented in her wake. Bracing herself, she whipped back around when she figured the blood must have been gone from underneath the boys nose.
After he asked her, or Kelila as she really didnโt know who it was directed to, why she was in such a rush, she cocked her head slightly to the side. She didnโt think she was speeding or anything of that matter, she was usually pretty careful. No, she just swerved so she didnโt ram right into the curly locked kid singing about singing in the rain. โIโve been in worse accidents than that,โ she admitted with a small, โyou caught meโ smile. There was actually a pretty prominent scar on her right forearm that reminded her of the nastiest spill she took to date. She had been driving down some country rode when she was seventeen and a deer appeared out of nowhere, so she took a tumble and completely fell into a ditch head first. It was a different bike at that point in time, and it had got totalled to a point of no return. In reality, no normal human would have survived, or at least, survived with a single gash scar fresh and pink on their forearm. However, Jace did knock her head back and forth in the helmet enough that she got a concussion as well, which went away a little quicker then normal. Her right wrist was also fractured. She remember her parents being positively furious, but she wasnโt completely sure their reasonings behind it. She didnโt know if it was because they genuinely cared about her well being as her parents, or if because she was giving a bad and reckless image to the royal family. How, if she wasnโt careful, she would mess everything up leaving no successor in her place.
She remembered that more then the scar.
However, she did remember Dorians reaction. He was positively furious, yet not at her, not for what she did. He had been mad at himself that he didnโt come along, he was mad at himself for somehow not stopping her form going despite there being no way he could have known what was going to happen. He tried to stop her from riding a bike till then, and as her legal guardian as he acted on this earth, he could. At last until she was turned eighteen, when she bought the bike she had now.
Shaking that off however, she glanced back over at the boy who was resting up her bike. โI only swerved because his singing was off pitch,โ she smirked, which got what was hopefully a playful scoff back from him. Turning towards Kelila now, she said, โsorry for frightening you, but Iโm still starved if you are?โ she offered, before turning back around the the boys behind. โAnd you guys as well, come join us, Iโll pay as an apology for knocking you down.โ
And sheโd get to stare at him a bit more.

"Actually, I have a motorcycle accident joke," he announced, referring to Nathan's previous comment, before carrying on before either one of the three would interject. Clearing his throat, he said it loud and proud.โOkay, so thereโs a sad story of a poor guy who was in a terrible motorcycle accident,โ he started off, scanning his eyes over the three people there. โActually, lets say it's girl because of giggles over there,โ he corrected, pointing over to the motorcyclist. โAnyways, so when he came out from under the anaesthetic, the doctor came in all anxious and leaned over her,โ he stopped for a second to light up his cigarette. Both for dramatic effect and because he just wanted one. โThe doctor says, โkid, Iโve got some good news and some bad news.โ and she just looks at him all confused and he carries on to say, โthe bad news is that you were in a very bad accident, and Iโm afraid we had to amputate both of your feet just above the ankle,โ so naturally the girl is in shock and she gasps, โJesus,โโ Ezra stopped himself for a second. โWait let me change that, so the patient gasps โWell shit!โ" He paused. "I dunno, you guys might not want to take the lords name in vain and I feel like a more natural response would be oh shit,โ he pointed out quickly, before continuing on. โSo then she asked, โwell, whats the good news?โ to which the doctor replied, โthe fellow over there in the next bed will give you a good price for your boots.'โ
He stopped, waiting for anyone of them to react to the clearly terrible joke.
Giggles was the first, who stood there wide eyed and gaped mouth the whole time. "That.." she started off, before another giggle fit seemed to erupt out of her, "that was so bad!" She exclaimed, clearly entertained until the fit of laughter quickly ceased, "wait, am I giggles?" She questioned, almost self consciously. Ezra simply pushed back her question however, answering her later offer. "I think dinner is a wonderful idea, however I would prefer to pay as it was, as you say, my off pitched singing that threw you off," he sighed dramatically as he took another drag of his cigarette, lazily throwing his arm over the shorter girls shoulders. "Besides, I'm sure my boy Nathan here would be happy to take you out, you probably knocked him off his feet in more ways then one. Just make sure he doesn't knock you back up," he smirked throwing a wink at his friends way.
"However, I think a McDonalds or a Chinese buffet is in more in our price ranges," he pointed out, before something dawned on him completely. "Also, I was so rude to not ask earlier, what are your names?"

She gave Jace a look when she spoke of the other accident. Kelila had a reason she feared Jace's motorcycle. That was it. She didn't see why she just couldn't drive a damn car. Kelila's car was pretty sexy. Her favorite was the Cadillac in her garage, but the one she drove today got a few stares.
XXX"Our reservation is still waiting. They're probably pissed by now" she told her, cocking her head in the direction of the restaurant.
Jace's suggestion was one she was going to give herself if she was given a few more moments. Though the blonde hair guy may have not known that Jace had been ogling over him, Kelila could read her best friend far too easily. Dinner would be more like a desert to Jace. Kelila smirked at her own thoughts, until her attention went to the darker haired guy that was beginning to start some joke.
It didn't take long until she was shaking her head, hiding behind her hands. She was embarrassed for the guy. The pause he took to light a cigarette she narrowed her eyes at the small stick of death. Kelila may be a party kind of girl, but the smell of cigarette's is really what killed her. Vodka, whiskey, sweat of the club. That was all familiar, and things she didn't mind.
Covering her mouth as she let out a small laugh, she shook her head at the lame joke. She rolled her eyes at Jace.
XXX"If you haven't been paying attention, yes, you're fucking giggles" Kelila jumped when she felt an arm going around her shoulder. Quickly she realized it was the smoking guy. Ever so casually she brought a hand up, flicking the cigarette out of his fingers. A small 'oops' escaped her.
Kelila shrugged out from under his arm, shaking her head at his suggestion of him paying. His words made her face go into a knowing grin, eyeing Jace, before she laughed slightly covering her mouth once more. "She wouldn't mind either way I don't think" Kelila teased. There was no way in hell she was going to let either of them pay for dinner. Call her vain, but at the moment, Mcdonalds didn't sound like a good time. Maybe it was because of the groggy head she still had.
Answering his question she pointed to Jace. "Motorcycle lady is Jace, I'm Kelila, though Jace prefers calling me other colorful things". It took a second before she asked the same thing back at the guys before adding "our reservation is literally right now. They can get more chairs at our table, but I'm hungry". Doubling taking across the road she dashed across it, dodging a car by a few steps.

He smiled at he girl that was only crashed straight into him moments ago. The smile faded when Ezra began his joke. He honestly didn't know how they were friends for so long. Since as long as he could remember really. He could only tolerate heaven with his best friend at his side. When they left he had never been so happy. Away from the pretenders and fakers. Heaven was nothing people would think. It was as full of corruption and greed as he figured hell was. At least hell was honest like that.
"That was worse than you're singing" he said plainly, looking to Ezra when the joke was done. It must have been decent enough to make the motorcycle girl laugh in the cutest way. A small tinge of jealousy at his friend, he was all the entertainer. Nathan was just the nice guy. Which worked sometimes, but other times, being himself was just boring. Either way - he couldn't will himself to change.
Dinner was something he had almost completely forgotten. It was the growl of his stomach that caught him by surprise, and the mention of Ezra paying. A grin appeared on his face when his friend said it.
"Are you paying for me too, or just you're new heart throb?" he spoke before Ezra made a crude joke about Nathan and the motorcycle girl. He coughed awkwardly, trying to hide the slight pink in his cheeks.
When Kelila finally introduced them both he nodded at both of them. Jace was a pretty name. Definitely different. Kelila was also an uncommon name. The two were friends, he wondered where they could possibly be from. When the question was returned he grinned widely, cutting whatever Ezra was going to say off.
"I'm Nathan, and stripper Mary Poppins is Ezra" he introduced, watching as Kelila practically got hit when going across the road. He didn't see it to be terrible to follow, if they already had reservations. He pressed the button to cross the street, waiting for the sign to walk.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
In reality, Jace loves nicknames though. Her name, which many actually mistook for her legal name, was a nickname she's had ever since she was young and stumbling around. Her real name is actually Jasper. She always laughs when people shorten Jace into another nickname, like how Dorian calls her J.J. Its like name inception. But, traditionally, it's simply just Jace. Her parents never even call her Jasper. Not even when they were yelling and mad. She had a feeling they hated her real name, but liked the idea of calling her Jace. In the royal family one had to be named after other royals, and it looked like Jasper was the closest to what her parents really wanted her name to be so they went with that. She didn't know why actually, both names were traditionally boy names but then again, there were really barley any female royals born to the blood line, she was the first in centuries. She actually wasn't supposed to be born at all, but, accidents happen human or not. The royals usually have one child in order to stop conflict for succeeding the throne, and thats all, but she was the single accidental exception.
Shooting a look that said 'I am seriously going to hit you' at Kelila, her face went fairly red at Stripper Mary Poppins comment. She could choose to ignore it, but no, she was too awkward for that. She had to make a comment to push it off as if she didn't give a damn at all.
"If someone knocked me up, I'm sure I'd knock them out," she stated, now hating the way the word 'knocked' came out of her mouth. There were to many uses for that word and it didn't do anyone good. Clearing her throat the slightest bit, she watch as Kel made a mad dash across the street, shaking her head in disappointment. Cupping her hands around her mouth, as if to amplify her next words over to her, she said, "you're a bloody Dare Devil!" To the boys, it probably didn't seem all the funny, but to them, the use of the term devil was one that was fairly hysterical.
Turning back to the two boys, she stood up a little straighter, and flashed a smile. "It's nice to meet you guys, but yeah, come join us. I'm just going to go park my bike somewhere were it won't get hit, but meet us inside. The reservations under the name Ponzio, and believe me when I say Kelila's pride will not allow you to pay." Kel was probably going to get them to find a table they could push into their small two seater one, and if not, she had enough money to not only pay someone to leave their table, but to pay the whole restaurant to leave and rent it out for the rest of them. She honestly would not be surprised at all if that happened, but hoped she wouldn't.
"I'm just going to go park my bike, but I'll meet you guys in there!" She stated, slipping back on her wing-cracked helmet, and getting onto her bike. She started it up and revved the engine, before saying one last thing. "And Mary, please don't jump out at me again," with a teasing smile. If Era was going to keep calling her bubbles, well, he was going to get called Mary.
Going off to find one of the near by garages, as she didnโt necessarily like the idea of anyone else riding her bike like the valet, she took a moment to take a clear breather. A lot literally just happened, with no processing time. It was always funny how quickly people appeared in her life, yet also disappeared. She always liked to guess how and where things were going to go, despite never even being remotely right. When she first met Kel, she couldnโt even dream that the girl would become such a strong person she centred her own self around. Thereโs no preparing for that.
There was no truly preparing yourself for anything.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
As his arm was pushed off the girl name Kel, he watched as she simply ran off into the street before his pride could object to getting his dinner payed for. He shrugged it off, however. Despite not liking too much that it really was his fault they got themselves into this mess, and that he did need to repay in someway for the trouble caused, he would be grateful for the meal none the less. As long as he could get tea. Anything was alright with tea.
Ezra always seemed like a joking guy who couldn't give a damn flip about the world, but he really did. He'd go out of his way to help absolutely anyone in need, despite Nathan always beating him to the punch. Ezra helped in his own ways though, like with laughter. That's something he always knew what to do, if it only helped the sadness for a short while. He could also make nightmares go away, change them to happy dreams and ones filled with happy memories. He found himself doing that sometimes when waiting for his friend to get off work at the hospital, he'd come an hour early and curl up in waiting room chairs and let peoples dreams drag him into his own sleep. There, he'd make them a little less restless. It, however, also led him to see some pretty disturbing things he would then have nightmares about later on in the night. He'd experienced pain that was indescribable.
He snorted at Jace's comment, giving a look Nathan's way. Kelila did seem a little devilish to him, and he'd be entirely lying to say he wasn't intrigued. Cause he swore on the devil himself, he sure was.
Glancing back at Nathan, he said, "hey, if you want to see me strip, all you gotta do is ask. You know I'd do anything for you, sweet cheeks." That was a lie. He would do anything for his friend but strip for him.
Waving the girl off as she rode off onto her bike, he skipped his way over to his friend who chose to cross the street like a well-mannered pedestrian rather then dog cars and play a game of parkour. Giving a knowing smirk his way, he asked, "Aren't you glad I dragged you out of your apartment tonight?"

See, Kelila was meant to be far more from birth. She was raised to be someone that can manipulate, twist people, and get her way. She needed to be able to keep the family business alive. While she certainly learned the bad habits, and was forced to practice them - she never felt good after. Whenever she asked about the feeling, her parents told her to shake the thoughts.
Finally they realized that despite the expertise Kelila had in using people, and benefiting the family business, she was too soft.
That's when Kelila learned her Mother was pregnant once again. It was a few years after he was born she decided to leave. While she certainty wasn't as outwardly nice as Jace, and perhaps, more calm of a personality, she did have a heart of gold for the people she held dear.
She looked up from the pavement outside the resturant when she heard Jace yell "you're a bloody Dare Devil!". The demon girl could only snicker. With her black manicured nails she made a heart with her hands back at her best friend before walking inside the restaurant. The host looking upset with her for making them wait.
"So, a table for 4 now actually" she spoke casually, the host looking over their reservation list and shaking their head.
"We only have the table for two available Ms.Ponzio" he said back to her before Kelila raised a brow.
"Are you telling me, you cannot put two extra chairs at a table, in a restaurant in which I pay good money to be at" Kelila crossed her arms across her chest before the man ran off, probably to find some sort of manager to deal with her. Only a moment later menus were taken in the man's hand and he was escorting her to the back room. The manager was waiting at the table with a smile upon his face.
"I apologize for the misunderstanding Ms.Ponzio" he said before Kelila sat down on the purple sofa of a seat. She only smiled warmly and nodded. Taking the drink menu off the table she examined it while waiting on the others to join her.

He did let out a laugh when Jace announced that she was going to park her bike. Telling Mary or Ezra to stop popping out places. It was a good name for Ezra. While Nathan was just always the nice guy, Ezra was able to make people laugh. Nathan wasn't a bad joke teller, but never as good as Ezra.
Rude jokes only got scolds from his parents when he lived within heaven. He was raised in a strict household. Formalities, gentleman manners, and kindness was taught above all else. His Mother often told him that even the nicest of jokes could be taken the wrong way, so to avoid the conflict, avoid the humor at all cost. Then again, his Mother was a boring housewife who took his Father's abuse. Everyone in the family did.
Nathan's father was supposed to be a holy, devout man. But behind closed doors he was anything butt. A drunkard, a wife beater, son beater. Gladly Nathan was the only child his Mother ever had the chance to have. The family he was raised in, he wouldn't want anyone else to suffer through.
He rolled his eyes at Ezra before clutching his heart. "You caught me Ez. The only reason I stick around is to find a way to make you shimmy out of your clothes" he dramatically said before falling to straight face, walking across the street when the white man came onto the sign. For once Ezra was right, he was glad to be out. He couldn't give him that satisfaction though.
"Still need time to figure that out. I'm sore now. I'm pretty sure you're glad to be out though" he grinned back at his friend before opening the door to the lavish restaurant. He was greeted by an annoyed host, and when he spoke the last name of one of the girls, he was escorted back into a heavily decorated room. Nathan was clearly impressed.
"Hey again" he greeted the jaywalker as he sat across awkwardly, the place far more fancy than either of the guys probably expected.
Waiting at the light for it to turn, he heard Ezra sneak behind him.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Following suite behind Nathan as they crossed the street, he chuckled lightly. "I'm always glad to be out. I'm just giddy now because cute girls are involved, learn the difference," he chastised his friend.
Ezra was no stranger to the dating scene. Well, not so much the dating scene as much as it was the party scene. He'd never really dated anyone for too long a time period, having them never turn into anything more serious then what they where intended for. Fun. It was hard to truly date someone in this city when he had the tiniest bit of an issue because he wasnโt exactly human. When people used to tell him โOh, youโre an angel!โ When he was either kind or sweet, they didnโt know the half of it. He knew one day he would have to date another one of his kind, that or find a human that he cared for so deeply that he felt like he could share his heavenly secret to them, have them believe him, and be perfectly fine with their forbidden love.
Then again, there was always the option to stay a bachelor all his life. Be like those old dudes with a lot of cash and fancy cars, surrounded by girls the rest of their lives. Heโd just have that, minus the heaps of cash and nice cars. One girl at a time too, Ezra wasnโt about casually dating multiple girls at once. Strictly a serial monogamous was he.
Walking past Nathan and through the doors of probably the nicest restaurant heโs ever stepped into, He glanced around for a moment, taking it all in. โWow, I thought the only way I could eat in a place like this would be by becoming some woman's gigolo,โ he gaped, turning his curly head back to give a wide grin his friends way. He probably said that a wee bit too loud, but he honestly couldnโt care less. Moving over to where the slightly disgruntled host was, who clearly had heard him say what he did before considering the once over her gave the boy, he said โhi, weโre with the Ponzio reservation.โ The man simply nodded, muttering something under his breath that sounded a lot like โof course you are,โ as he grabbed two menuโs before leading them off into what appeared to be a more back roomed section of the upscale joint.
Spotting the pretty taller girl already seated at the couch, he gave her a lazy but oh-so-charming smile her way, before sliding into the couch opposite facing her. โHello, there darling.โ He grinned, after the host trudged back over to his presumed post.
โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Once she finally entered through the doors, she was greeted with a very big smile from the host who obviously recognized the frequent customer. โHello, Ms. Demetriou! So glad to see you. Is your elder brother not joining you this evening?โ Jace simply returned the smile, shaking her head. โPlease, call me Jace, formalities make me feel like my mom,โ she giggled lightly, while the statement was completely serious. It also reminded her of her role. When she visited her parents, which was now more frequent then ever, she swore everyone around her only ever called her Miss, Ms.Demetrio, or her least favourite, your highness. It made reality settle in all too much for her, and she didnโt want to think about her duty until it was right time to do so.
The host nodded apprehensively, saying, โAlrightโฆ Jace.โ Wow, he looked almost in pain to not use formalities. โWell, if youโve come to dine by yourself, Iโm sure I can find you a table I didnโt see that you had a reservation tonight?โ He questioned. โNo, I donโt, but my friend does, under Ponzio,โ she smiled, before his turned into a fake one of his own. โOh, yesโฆ Well sheโs here as well as her other guests, let me lead the way.โ Jace just nodded, before she was led into the back room.
Greeting the others with a smile, she began to slide into the seat next to Kelila, before the host asked, โMs.Deme- I mean Jace, would you like me to take your coat for you?โ Jace shook her head, offering up another smile. โNo, Iโm fine. But thank you.โ He simply nodded, before stating their waiter would be there very shorty, and left.
โYou making enemies again?โ She questioned her friend sitting beside her, as she slipped her leather jacket off and sat it beside her, along with her helmet before feeling her phone vibrate in her pocket. Checking it, she noticed around eight missed texts and three missed calls, all from big brother Dory. โJesusโฆโ she mumbled under her breath, before looking back up at all three, โI have to call someone, really sorry, Iโll be one second.โ Sliding out from the table, she quickly dialled her brothers number, moving over to the windowed wall, glancing out of the pretty spectacular view of the city. After five rings, it went to his voice mail, and Jace sighed. For someone who looked like he needed to get a hold of her desperately, he wasnโt all that easy to get a hold of either. Guess their both just going to have to deal with it.
Moving back to sit beside Kelila, she tucked her phone away once more, before glancing up at all three. โSo whatโs everyone having?โ She questioned.

Kelila's hangover still hadn't passed. The headache still remained prominent. She let out a groan as she placed her head between her hands and massaged her temples, only to find the action to be in vain. She should change her party habits, but it was how she was raised. Hell, after she was born - her crib was in the backroom of the club while her parents worked.
Partying was something she did to take her mind off things. While it was fun, it didn't last. Her life was really just being with Jace, or throwing (or attending) a party. There had been a few times that her Kelila thought she'd leave her party days behind. Like the time she woke up in some guys bed and he didn't want her to leave. While Kelila had no trouble fending for herself, it did leave her questioning her lifestyle. But what else did she have to do? She was a demon. Though she wasn't the demon her parents wanted, it was what she was, and demons didn't have much of a purpose than being something people feared. In hell they feared her enough.
The luxury of earth was that people didn't know her. She was a face among the crowd.
Kelila looked up from the menu when the two boys approached the table, the asshat of a host mumbling as he walked away. She only narrowed her eyes at him before looking to Mary Poppins and Nathan. She watched as Ezra gave her a lazy smile as he sat down across from her.
โHello, there darling.โ he greeted, only making her roll her eyes. Though she did crack a huff of a laugh.
"I don't know if the suave guy act works after I saw you dancing on a light pole" she commented before looking to Nathan. "I'm sure Jace will be here any second. Don't look too disappointed" she joked before looking at her menu once more, deciding on her drink. Though she was under age, fake ID's took a girl a long way. Would more liquor be a good idea? Probably not, but damn the consequences.
She saw Jace come through and waved at her before the girl sat down next to her. Kelila squinted her eyes at her.
"I don't make enemies. People just tend to not like people that calls them out on their bullshit" she stated before Jace got up to make a call. Of course she could guess who it was. Dorian, her over protective brother that seemed to hate her. When Jace came back she gave her a small smile before looking to the others.
"Well first off I want a Moscow mule. Secondly - you guys can order whatever you want. Thirdly, I really want that swordfish"

"I don't know if the cute girls will like you much now that you made one of them crash by pole dancing" he grinned at his friend, though knowing Ezra - he'd make some impression to make up for his stripping transgressions.
When they entered the restaurant his mouth was practically on the floor. The lavishness of the interior made him want to bolt straight out. Who were they dining with - a CEO's daughters? Ezra gave the host the party's last name, and the host didn't looked pleased in the slightest. Nevertheless he followed behind Ezra as they were taken to the back, and Kelila was there sitting looking at the menu.
Ezra was quick to make an introduction, and immediately he could tell the similarities between the two characters. Kelila seemed to be the sarcastic type. At Kelila's comment he felt his cheeks go red, and could already tell Ezra was going to say something. He hoped to God that wouldn't be the case.
"No, I'm not disappointed. Don't worry, it's good to see you too" he quickly said before sitting down next to Ezra. A moment later to his luck, Jace came down the small hallway - escorted by the same host, who seemed a bit more pleased that she was there.
Before he had the chance to speak Jace was already up once again. She had her phone pulled out, and it looked like she was trying to get a hold of someone urgently. He glanced over to Ezra before down at the menu. The food cost more than a lot of the things he owned. Even the water was expensive.
When Jace came back after seemingly having no luck on her phone, Kelila told them of the three points she had. Honestly, he didn't even know what a Moscow mule was. Whatever it was, it didn't sound pleasant. He couldn't believe the girl didn't care what they got. Their dinner bill would be his rent.
"Are you sure Kelila? This place is rather...exclusive" he spoke hesitantly. She waved him off.
"It's not a big deal. Get whatever" she repeated and he only nodded. Nathan glanced over the menu and decided what he would want. A simple steak. The menu made it sound much more complex.
"Did you find a safe spot for your bike?" he asked Jace to liven up the silence of the conversation.

"Really, anything with the word mule attached should be avoided in consumption," Jace slightly scolded her friend. Then again, Jace wasn't too much for the complicated drink, let alone any alcohol for that. She only ever drank when she was at a party, which in itself was rare. She was a bigger fan of whiskey then anything, preferring it straight as scotch. However, that could only last so long with out her getting drunk off the walls, so when she wanted to casually drink, her go to was always a mint julep. She was actually underage as well, but what did that stop anyone these days? She was legal in Canada at least.
Picking up the menu, thinking that the swordfish Kelila mentioned would be good, she started browsing as this restaurant too often changed their menus. As soon as she found a dish she liked, it would be off the menu and replaced with a much more complicated version, often with cilantro added on. God, how she hated cilantro.
Glancing up a little started by Nathan's questions, she gave him a smile. "Yep! Trick is, always park on the top of the garage level, it's the last place anyone goes." Really, it would only stop some people, but hey, it did give her more of peace of mind. Deciding to continue on the route of the conversation, she questioned, "I didn't see if you guys had a car or anything, if you walked you must live close to here, huh?" Who actually even knew is they lived in Chicago, they could be even simply visiting and staying at a nearby hotel. As soon as she asked any questions to them, a million new ones seemed to pop into her head by she didn't want to seem at all intrusive. Maybe they didn't even have cars! God, what if Jace was being insensitive? Now she was really overthinking everything, and she hoped they didn't see the nervous look in her eyes. Maybe she could cover it up with more talking. "Let me guess what you guys do for a living-" she started, looking over at Ezra's way, "please tell me you're involved in musical theatre some how, because if so that's would be priceles-"
"Jesus christ!" suddenly yelled an all too familiar voice, which caused Jace to immediately smack her head down on the table, all to curious what caused her to deserve Dorian's over protective nature this time around.
"I lost the signal on your bikes tracker, I didn't know what happened to you, why the hell weren't you answering your phone?" Dorian grumbled, as he stalked over to the table all but ignoring everyone else. What he said, however, caught Jace's interest. Bringing her head up, she shot a daggered look to her brother, almost questioning in a very un-amused tone, "I hope you don't mean you put a tracker on my bike, you son of a devil." He looked as if that was the least of her problems or worries, like it was no big deal. "Of course I did! You got into that accident only a few years ago, and what if someone took you?" Jace flashed her eyes to everyone at the table, before standing up and grabbing his forearm, giving a warning for him to stop speaking when she said, "Dory," in a warning tone. He continued anyways. "In case you forgot, you aren't the most expendable person in the world, princess," he snapped, all but forgetting he were in a public place. "Dory," Jace repeated a little louder, trying to tug him away from the table before he said something stupid. "Or do you prefer I call you Your Highness?" he said at the peak of his voice, before Jace had to raise her voice back, "Dorian, stop talking."
In that moment, it seemed to finally click in Dorian's head that not only Kelila was there, but a pair of seemingly human boys were as well.

Ezra perused the menu, desperately trying to find some sort of dish that resembled mac and cheese. He wondered what it would taste like with fancy cheese, and maybe even handmade fresh noodles. Oh, how exciting this all was. Oh god, and the thought of the tea they might carry had him almost drooling. Glancing up at Kelila, he asked utterly straight faced and probably in the most sincerely serious tone to date, "Do you know what brands of tea and types they carry here?" Ezra barley eben glanced back over at Jace as she slipped back in her position.
He absentmindedly payed attention to her idle chat about the garage, leaving any questions she may have asked to Nathan's way, but he couldn't ignore giggles musical theatre reference. Multiple retorts swirled around his head, like how she must be a professionally bad stunt woman or if she was a go-daddy website girl, but the sudden outburst of a young man shocked him, especially when he stormed up to the table. Ezra would have simply ignored the conversation if he could, knowing it was not his place to listen in to an obvious personal fight, but as it got increasingly loud, it grew too hard too. In all honesty, he was a little worried what might be going on, so he nudged Nathan, the one who was always better at speaking up, to say something.
He really was in disbelief someone would put a tracker on someone bike, which hers must have broke when the bike crashed down. Right now, the only thing Ezra had on his mind was trying to figure out the odd situation and what the two's exact relationship was. He really felt the urge to say something like, 'too bad Nathan, looks like she's already got a boy friend,' but really didn't want to get punched in the face by the slightly beefier then him freckled dude.
When the waiter came up to the table as it went suddenly silent, he really couldn't fight the urge to mutter, "check please," in order to try and lighten things up jokingly.

"Really, anything with the word mule attached should be avoided in consumption," Jace scolded Kelila. She rolled her eyes at her, taking a long sip out of the mug and making a satisfied sound afterwards. People kept heckling her about her wonderful drink, including Ezra.
"Well you're the ass here" Kelila said to him with a smirk, finding the stupid joke rather clever before listening to her friend talk about the intelligent parking job.
To fuck with her, Kelila would sometimes put things on her motorcycle. Anything too drastic and she'd probably be burned to a crisp however. Jace loved her motorcycle far too much. She joked she loved it more than her.
She couldn't help but snicker when Jace began to try guessing the occupations of the two men they were dining with. The musical theory was a good guess, but she had better.
"Mary Poppins is either a male stripper, or male prostitute, judging on how well he does his hair. Your human landing pad has to be some kind of nurse, or maybe a part time stripper to pay for school" she spoke, grinning at the guys before taking another drink.
Kelila glanced over the menu as Ezra asked her about the selection of teas. She raised a brow before grabbing the drink menu from the middle of the table and sliding it over to him.
"How the hell would I know? It's dinner time, why would you drink tea at dinner when you can have a perfectly good summer shandy" she said, right after she did she heard an overly familiar voice, in an even more familiar tone.
When the bickering began she stood up as well, glancing daggers along with Jace at Dorian. Of course he'd be stupid and do something such as that. He'd always been overprotective, and wasn't all that fond of Kelila's company. That's what pissed her off. Her family worked with theirs, did their dirty work, she was the last person he had to think of allowing her to get hurt, let alone Jace was her best friend.
The slurs of her title made Kelila narrow her eyes. Finally they stopped talking.
"Ah Dorian. Wonderful for you to join us. You're always such a delight to be around, a true gentleman you are, calling your sister royalty. She's not 3 anymore though, I'm sure she'd appreciate being called your sister instead. Everyone finds your baby talk stupid" she spoke quickly, grabbing Jace's hand and sitting back down, yanking her down as well.
Ezra made an attempt to lighten the mood, and the server waited with wide eyes.
"Good seeing you as always. We're eating though, so ta-ta" she started, making a bye-bye motion with here hands, though she put up her middle finger at the end before looking to the waiter with a large smile, "can I get the halibut tacos, please and thank you" she ordered before swirling her drink and taking a sip, wanting to simply punch Dorian in the face.

Honestly, he didn't even know what a Moscow mule was. It looked cool, in a copper cup. It seemed that Jace thought otherwise based on her comments. Nathan wasn't much of a drinker. When he drank it was typically things like wine, or a bottle of beer. He wasn't one for the fancy fruity drinks. Or hard liquor. Never once had be been drunk. Nor did he want to find out how bad of a drunk he'd be.
Nathan found it interesting that the girl took so much care for her bike. He couldn't say he cared about material objects all that much. He wasn't a things kind of guy. Sure a fancy car would be nice, but it wouldn't make him that happy. He saw the appeal of motorcycles though. Fast, dangerous. Jace seemed like a girl who liked being a little on the edge, as far as he could tell so far.
His body was sore at every movement her made, such as taking a drink of water, as that was all he wanted to drink. Of course they put a cute lemon inside of it to make it fancier...and cost a dollar extra. The girls didn't look like they cared about money though. It made him curious to what they did.
"If Ezra were in theater, there would be many more deaf people around...and possibly blind" he teased his friend before the curly haired guy came to their table. Dory, Dorian, whatever his name was - wasn't happy. It was clear to see in the way he was raising his voice, and calling the girl names.
A small part of him was rather disappointed. He seemed like the girl's overprotective (possibly abusive) boyfriend. That thought was pushed aside when Jace's friend interjected with a mono toned remark, sounding not at all happy with the appearance of Dorian.
Times like these he was grateful for Ezra's humor. The small comment he made, Nathan could only laugh awkwardly at before nodding, listening to the order of Kelila before ordering himself.
"Can I get the Italian flatbread please?" he asked almost as a question, more than an order. He was never good at these things. The flatbread was the only thing on the menu he even knew. He gave Jace a small smile before handing his menu to the server. Slightly feeling bad by the interjection of her sibling.
