On a faraway island there is an abandoned mansion.

There is a story quite famous that claims the mansion is under a spell, cast by the goddess of black magic, the goddess who is half cat.
The story claims that long ago two fox halflings, (half fox/half human), found the mansion and decided to make it their home. Halflings are looked down on wherever they go, so they had nowhere else to go. When they decided to make the mansion their home they became bound to it. they can never leave and they can never age.

The mansion is a trap set by the envious goddess, who hates her true form. She hates all halflings and so, the mansion draws them in, where they will be forever bound, unless there's a way to break the spell.
