The Zero Series

About the Series:
The Zero Series is a list of One x One Play-By-Post roleplays that I (Zero) have created. This is nothing more than a list of roleplays that I have thought of and wish to play out but need people to fill. The series will most likely grow and shrink as the roleplays come to an end or as I find interest in another story I wish to play out. Keep in mind I am one person so I can only handle some much active roleplays. All of these roleplays will be play-by-post roleplays. Why Play-by-Post? First off is the activity of roleplayers within roleplays nowadays, it has become a norm now to completely abandon a roleplay or spam roleplays that just doesn't even seem half decent. I am not being offensive, it's just that I've watched over a hundred roleplays die because people simply abandon it or the roleplay is simply a last minute thrown together mess. I have read dozens of roleplays that had horrible grammatical errors, broken sentences, or simply three sentences that's suppose to describe everything. These tabbed roleplays have brought into the world of roleplaying two types of roleplays; the professional overachiever roleplays with great presentations and the half baked nonsense that was created just to get a spot in the "Newest Roleplays" section for all eyes to see for about ten minutes which only prevails at kicking actually good roleplays further down the list. The second reasoning is that I'm going back to the traditional 'Play by Post' roleplays that I was born into, these are the roleplays that I truly felt mattered and it made posting and getting notifications so much easier. Don't mistake me I understand why the tab system is around, it makes roleplays look professional and grant it additional features so I am not bashing it. The final reason why I'm focusing on play-by-posts is that it allows me to get closer to the person I'm roleplaying with. Roleplaying is more than story telling it fabricates friendships but most importantly opens minds to new creative worlds.

The series will hold a maximum of five roleplays in other words I will be active in a maximum of five one x one roleplays. Current Amount: 5

About Me:
Name's Zero. Of course this is not my real name but it's something you can call me by. Even though my account states that I've joined this year but in reality I've been around for far too long. I've been through many of theses transitions that RPG has gone through, which is why I know a thing or two about posting long before the tabbed roleplays. Why do I come back? That's a good question, to be honest I have no idea but I believe it has something to do with the fact that I established something truly golden here. I was blessed to be welcomed into a awesome but dying roleplay that I along with a group of wonderful people, that soon became friends that I shall cherish to the ends of the earth, helped bring it back to life. It was truly magnificent. But life is cruel and everything must come to an end and that's what happened. Maybe this is me trying to find another gem within this site or maybe it's just me trying to make amends for making something so great come to an end or maybe this is just a sick form of self-punishment. Regardless of the reasoning I am here.

My Taste:
I am seeking roleplayers that are capable of handling them self in a one x one because majority of these stories just might end up being just that. I want people that are literate (For grammatical mistakes irk me, but I am lenient), dependent, experienced, and truly here for the long haul. Oh also, patience is a bit important. Oh, sorry in advance because I'm the type of roleplayer that prefers a roleplay with a male x female main role I'm willing to play a female or do a female x female main roles I can even do a male x male but I will cringe away from any male x male romance (Nothing against gays just that I'm straight and been hit on by enough gay men). I have yet to tell you that I am quite the talker, so OOC talking (Within the OOC thread of course) will be quite common so for my entertainment could you possibly be a bit responsive or I just might get bored...

Tabs System:
I shall be using the tabs system to present this and organize my lists in the OOC section. Keep in mind this contains multiple roleplays and will only be used to keep things organized and easier for peers to navigate my roleplays. If you want to one x one roleplay one of my stories please go to the thread version of the story and bookmark both the OOC and IC (Will be created once the roleplay starts) of the story. After bookmarking abandon this and stick to the OOC and IC threads and only come back to this to view my other roleplays. Thank you.

The List:
Keep in mind I am open for anything and everything it all depends on my mood for the day (I can tend to be a bit bipolar). If its an idea for the story then go ahead and tell me, if its about another roleplay you want me to be part of then simply ask (I'm not always mean). But for now until suggestions come in this is what I have to offer.

Stay Alive
Summary: The year is 2042 and the organization known as The Laughing Coffin has become the sole justice of New York City. The very police force that swore to keep its people safe have failed and have become nothing more than a mere image of what it used to be or should have been. This organization which soon took over the American Mafia has become New York's curse and salvation. On the outside its nothing more than the mafia undergoing new management but on the inside where the light fears to thread is a world of pain, horror, and wickedness. What the world doesn't know is that these three heads of the organization are a form of vampires, in the sense that they survive off the life force of others and only have turned their subordinates into lesser monsters of themselves. (If you wish we can edit this part out of the story)

The story will follow the tale of a girl that happen to be a victim of the cruel world. You see, ever since the Laughing Coffin has come into power the mafia has been forced to join them or keep the little dignity they have to form a small guerrilla-like group. But fueled with rage this has led them to do quite some horrible things including torturing, slaughtering, and so on. Unfortunately this girl has become a victim of witnessing her family and friends going through such horrors and to add insult onto injury they left her alive, broken but alive. Just as death seemed to be the only answer left for her a man happen to come across this girl, out of pity or whatever bizarre emotion that causes people to do such deeds he decides he would help her not only get back on her feet but place these people six feet under. And who exactly is this guy? Well, he is a member of the Laughing Coffin and they happen to be hiring...

Requirements: This is a rather mature roleplay so I need a partner that is able to handle gore, mature dialog, obscene actions, etc. Out of all my list of roleplays this is my favorite one so I will be placing a great deal of effort into it and looking forward to the story unfolding so I really want a partner that can deliver and keep me interested in their posts. I need someone to be the gal and I shall be the male. Posting is important but I'm a patient guy as long as you don't make me wait for a month with no heads up. If you chose to be a part of this roleplay keep in mind this story is centered around your character majority of the time so being able to drive a story with the amount of information you've been given is a plus.

Royal Flush
Summary: Virena a world that is comprised of a massive continent, a series of islands, and one massive ocean has reached the end of its Dragon Age. With the end of the dragon age two new species have been birth, Vixens and Dracons. Now the world that used to be populated by only humans and creatures must share it with half humans and half dragons. As the dragon king fell all other dragons fell as well and their energy were dispersed into the planet recycling into both humans and animals that are compatible making them both evolve into something truly fearsome. Animals born with dragon energy become black, enlarged, violent, and mutated. Humans born with dragon energy are either Dracons (Able to shift between human and dragon-like forms and take on the physical characteristics of a dragon) or Vixens (Keep human characteristics but able to use dragon-like magic). At first the knowledge of these half dragons were kept a secret in order for them to take advantage of their new abilities resulting in them bizarrely taking high positions in society but the day of the cleansing came. The slaughtering of millions of Dracons and Vixens, this was the Second Dragon Crusade the first being the one that put an end to the dragons. With time the people came to peace with the Namuh (Name for general population of half dragons) but peace does not come with equality. For it was law that Dracons and Vixens could not take on any ruling positions resulting in them becoming nothing more than forced labor.

With that aside the story focuses on a kingdom known as Ascavia, one of the five kingdoms that share the one continent. Being in the middle with the other kingdoms surrounding it on its North, South, East, and West it is the center of the world. With war always on the horizon the ruler of Ascavia must ensure peace through force and intimidation but with time things have gotten complicated. With the appearance of what seems to be a royal killer the ruler of Ascavia must not only keep peace within the kingdoms and keep peace within Ascavia as royalty are being slaughtered but also watch his/her own back for his/her head may be next. Just as things seem to be going to hell, the ruler comes across a wanderer that with time grows to trust and even placed his/her opinion over the royal council. Maybe with this person's help they can put an end to the slaughters and the talk of war. It's not too far fetch right?

Requirements: This story will hold a lot of crucial decision making and strategy so I need the wanderer to be able to make logical and strategical decisions for the ruler will come back to your character time and time again for help. The story is broken into three parts. The first part focusing on the political, the second part will be adventure, and finally the last part being action so I need someone that can work with all three atmospheres easily (Of course there is action throughout the story). I will be taking on the ruler role, I need someone to be the wanderer (Male or Female) depending on your choice I will choose the opposite unless you prefer same sex. It's crucial that you understand that the story has a magical, fictional atmosphere; humans can use weapon-like magic (Magic with their sword, bow, lance, etc.), Dracons use their dragon-like features, and Vixens use dragon-like magic. The wanderer is a human this can and will possibly change.

Blackened Hearts
Summary: Love is no walk in the park it is a dark alleyway filled with traps, broken glass, and wrong turns. This tells a story of the life of two broken individuals with troubled lives trying to make one another's life just a tad bit better. The one is burdened with a incurable disease that will get progressively worst until it claims her life and the must go through life without truly experiencing life and its joys for all this one experiences are the tragedies. Two totally different people, two people from entirely different parts of the world, two broken individuals together just might sum up to being whole.

Requirements: This is a simple story but is one that has the ingredients for epicness. This story will be filled with the horrors that life can fan out for the the undeserving, but it can truly have memorable scenes that proves that the broken can heal. You get to choose which role you wish to take on, keep in mind this does not have to be a romantic story it can be just as effective with friendship.

Silencing the Hummingbirds
Summary: The Hummingbird Asylum is one of a kind, success rate is in the high nineties. The asylum has received outstanding reviews, been the source for multiple documentaries, and nearly a tourist site for psychiatrists and medical doctors interested in such matters. With outstanding marks and nearly no accidents then why would the brother of a patient of the asylum go to a private investigator to investigate this perfect asylum? A job being a job no matter how pointless it may seem the investigator followed through. At first it was normally, normal insane people and staff inhabited the asylum and the sister's actions were predictable for someone sentenced to an asylum but one day subtle changes began taking effect. First it was the sister began acting normal, it was as if she given up on the safety that she believed the investigator could grant her. Then it was the staff, their what the investigator thought it was genuine kindness seem to disappear. Matters simply get worse as the investigation continue, first simply actions like rudeness from the staff but soon escalated to what appear to be planned murder. How far will these investigator go to uproot the truth and how deep is the horrors of this asylum.

Requirements: This roleplay is a horror that focuses on investigation, so I need a partner that has an interest in such. You will be take on the role of the investigator and your actions will play a big part in this story so I need someone that actually think through their actions or at least don't make unrealistic actions. This is quite a sandbox story and I will adapt to your actions, in other words you can do as you please just don't do something stupid I do find pleasure out of killing characters.

Lost Humanity
Summary: As of 2012 the world has come to its last breath. This began with a rare virus that scientists named the Corpse Eater due to its characteristic of consuming the flesh of its victim even beyond death. The virus was rare and only affected a rare breed of moneys and with war on the horizon discovery and research was neglected. America and Russia was placed in a standstill once again at a Cold War situation unfortunately the outcome wasn't the same. Warheads both destructive and nuclear rained on both countries, unbeknownst to the world scientific facilities housing Corpse Eater was hit causing the virus to undergo a radioactive mutation that would place the world on its knees within a few months.

After the world stopped burning the screams of the dead walking and consuming the living filled the air. Within a month the nonthreatening, underestimate virus caused thousands of humans to die, another month it spread outward to neighboring nations bringing the death toll to millions, a third month brought the world to its knees as every nation became infected. By the fourth month the world became silent for every government was destroyed along with its nation. As for the people three quarter became nothing more than zombies, the other quarter became the very things we frowned down upon; murderers, raiders, thieves, cannibals, and even worse. The war had the world and its people riled and loud, but the virus made them silent, deathly silent.

The world was silent for the remainder of 2013 but just before everyone gave up and decided this was it for humanity a message was broadcast across the Americas, a message of hope to the west. The message spoke of hope and safety within a society that was established by the fragments of the American military and police force, a place that some form of government and justice remained. The plan is set, now the challenge is getting there.

Requirements: The setting of the story is the zombie apocalypse so I need a partner that has some knowledge about zombies and Armageddon type settings. If interested we need to chat on the role you want and the role you want me in, the default was two siblings heading west for some form of the home they lost. This story will be quite realistic so I need a fellow roleplayer that can make realistic, thought out actions and be able to understand the situation they're in because this story will have multiple outcomes and every action actually matters since it will shape the story sometimes further down the plot. I will take on multiple characters (You can do the same) but you will be the only one with a crucial story driving character and you will decided which characters of mine will become crucial based on your actions and how long you are able to keep that character alive. Don't worry this isn't a story of how many characters you can keep alive I want to keep my character alive as well, but you will play the leader role so your decision making will decide who lives and who dies. (For example: If we end up trapped in the building with hordes of zombies trying to get in and you decide to silently send someone out a back window in order to run to retrieve the car but did not pay attention to character abilities and chose a less slower character then they will end up getting hurt, trapped, or killed depending on the character traits. Sure the character might be able to make it but there might of been a better plan or character to choose). With that being said I need a awesome partner that can handle managing interactions with multiple characters for you will need to analyze, understand, and get to know your group in order to use each one properly but also help to know who to trust and who will betray or be a burden. Surviving has never been so... difficult.
