"The Day The Hourglass Stopped"

It's roughly 9:50 AM here in Litan Port City. I'm writing this in the hopes that if this all ends badly, someone will know what happened. I will record as much as I can manage until I am forced out. Earlier today, at about 9:30, there was a rather large explosion in the very center of the city. Immediately, my friends and I thought that it was a terrorist attack, but we were rather quickly proven wrong. As if from some kind of fantasy book, there was a strange shadowy figure that rose from the smoke of the explosion. I was lucky enough, and unlucky enough, to be only two blocks away from where this figure was rising.

It was difficult to make out what it was due to the smoke and the dark clouds that were beginning to cover the sky. It seemed to be a man, though. If a man could have the wings of a crow protruding from his shoulder-blades. After a few minutes, he'd finally stopped rising and the entire city went quiet, all of us looking at the man. The smoke was then blown away as if the man had just blown it away without so much as moving. That was about the time I pinched myself to make sure I was awake. Unfortunately, I was.

The man then spoke. Even to this moment, I will never forget that voice. His voice was dark and raspy, but every time that the sound of his voice beat against my eardrums, it made me want to kill somebody.
"The time has come, humans" he began. "For all of you to choose your side. The world is crumbling, and I promise you that only those of you who embrace death and chaos will make it out alive." After he'd said that, there was a rather large flash in the air, far above the city. Out of the flash came a woman, at least I assume it was because of the flowing hair and grace to her movement. She flew straight at the man with three movements of her massive white wings and crashed directly against his figure, stopping his speech short.

As they fell into the city, that was about the time I began to run away. I didn't make it far, though. There were hundreds of people in the streets, though they weren't discussing the spectacle or running as I was; no... they were fighting one another. So many people began to claw and bite at each other. I continued to run, avoiding the people as much as I could, and simply shoving those that I couldn't to the side. With every passing second, however, there was a change in the people around me. Things that I'd read in stories, and seen in movies, began to unfold before my eyes. Monsters of all sorts; Demons, werewolves, vampires, gargoyles, you name it. Several of the humans were changing.

Black holes began to appear in the sky, not that I was able to pay too much attention to them; along with more white flashes. It was like dark angels and angels of light were colliding with one another, if I had to describe the brief time I got to look at it. My apartment was only half a block away and I needed to get there, fast. So I ran. I ran for a good twenty feet, before a man, or rather a humanoid with huge fangs and claws, jumped in front of me. He took no time for introductions and lunged himself at me. That was when I first discovered that the other people weren't the only ones changing. A small shield like wall of fire blasted the creature far away from me, and I continued to run, not wanting to think too much on the subject.

So now I have made it to my apartment and I can still hear the creatures outside fighting amongst one another. I hope that this message makes it to someone who can make use of it.

Based upon the note that was typed by Delat into his computer, players will enter into this world.
The story will begin just after many of the people began changing form.

For what you may not have picked up on from the reading, the basis, summarized, is this:
The world has reached it's end, and it has come down to a fight between good and evil.
Demons and Angels.
Call it what you will.
Every person on the planet will be forced to the side of darkness, or the side of light.
A person's true nature decides which side they are drawn to.



There are three types of people that the characters may choose from.

Those of the Light
People of this alignment have lived a decent life, and are generally out to help others as well as themselves. They would not go out of their way to harm others. These peoples are led by the Angel of Light, who guides them all to destroy evil so that the light may once again prevail in the world of the living.

Those of the Darkness
People of this alignment are not the people that you'd want standing next to you when several 20 dollar bills are dropped from the sky. Those who have lived a life of tyranny or selfishness tend to find others that they can associate with among these people. These people are led by the Angel of Darkness, who guides those of the dark to drown the world in what they believe to be true justice.

Those of Neutrality
There are very few people who have the alignment of Neutrality, and these are the people that stand outside of the boundaries of good or evil. Those of Neutrality, such as Delat Kren, are unaffected by the falling of the world, and stay as they are, allowing them to control the powers of either side of the battle, though not to the same extent as the alignment itself.
