Introduction
It is year 2012. Modern times. Some of us carry gems within our souls that make us possess powers. It is called your heart's treasure. When some have awakened, it upsets Earth's atmosphere, calling forces to reach out and snatch these powers. These treasures, if found out by man, will cause upset in the world. No one knows of these powers. Atleast not yet.
It is up to the ones with their special talents to fight these forces for their lives are at risk. Can you fight and make peace on Earth?

Rosette walked on her way towards the cafe. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and although it was a bit chilly, Rosette could tolerate the sunny winter day. It was February 29th, 2012. The leap year day. Rosette adjusted her shirt as she walked, pulling her camisole's straps to her body. Standing at 5'4", Rose walked in her ballet flats and skinny jeans, weighing 140 lbs. She felt fine with herself, and thus continued to walk in a casual manner towards the cafe.
"Latte, please. Thanks" Rosette sat on the side, and stared into the open space. As she waited for her coffee, she noticed a peculiar looking young man who happened to be at the cafe as well. Something about him just caught her eye, she wasn't sure what it was but maybe she could feel something different about him. What could it be?
The waiter called out her latte, and Rosette shot a quick, "Thank you" as she grabbed the cup. She eyed Richard as she seated herself on a chair next to the windows. She sat in a two seater table, tan wood with silver chairs.
"Latte, please. Thanks" Rosette sat on the side, and stared into the open space. As she waited for her coffee, she noticed a peculiar looking young man who happened to be at the cafe as well. The waiter called out her latte, and Rosette shot a quick, "Thank you" as she grabbed the cup. She eyed Richard as she seated herself on a chair next to the windows. She sat in a two seater table, tan wood with silver chairs.
Across the cafe, Richard sat at a window seat staring out into the cold, sunny morning of the city. Richard heard the sound of the cafe door opening, but did not look away from the window until he heard a young woman say, "Thank you," to a cafe waitress. He turned around in his seat and thought, "Such a pretty voice."
His brown eyes targeted Rosette as she sat down in a seat on the other side of the cafe seat with a cup. His eyes scanned her figure focusing on the details as she stared back at him. "Her figure's not bad either" he muttered.
Some of the things he picked up on were her brown hair, black eyes, tanned skin, but most importantly her skinny jeans and shoulders. "She's out to hunt, but how does a guy like me catch her? I'm just a boring college student."
He looked down into his lap and clenched his fists tightly. He needed to approach her, no wanted to approach her, yet couldn't. There was something so avid floating about her already, however, to step in front of her and confess his feelings would be suicide. There was no way this could be true love already in the short amount of time that he had lived.
"Sorry," he spoke loud enough for her to hear as he raised his head and gazed at her face. "I-I can't help but stop staring you're not wearing a coat today." he lied. "It's cold outside you know."

"...Oh.." Rosette didn't even notice she wasn't wearing a coat! And it was cold outside, but she tolerated it. "Actually, I brought a small sweater like this with me, it's just tucked in my bag." She pointed at her rather large tote bag, and grabbed her sweater. "See?" The thing that actually crawled underneath her skin was the fact that Richard might have noticed Rosette's used to things being cold. It was like she naturally formed a warm temperament when she discovered her powers. Her power was to freeze things and ice, afterall.
She eyed Richard, his facial features and his tall lean figure. There was just something about him that seemed different. She couldn't quite put her finger on it. "Would you like to join me sitting in this here? My name is Rosette." She was hoping her introduction would work, and he would join her for a cup of coffee. "It's funny, I've never seen you before but I get this strange feeling when I'm around you. I don't know what it could be, but maybe it's something worth looking at."

Richard stood up in his seat and walked over to hers whereupon reaching a chair and pulling it out he plopped himself down and thought, "Oh boy, she really is probably looking to hook up with guy, how do I respond? I'll start with my name I think, maybe I'll just give her a taste of my personality though."
"I suppose I am the type of guy that draws people in, but I'm a rather awful person. I don't know if you'd want to stare at me too long or even talk to me. I have a way of being emotional or temperamental if I don't get my way." he stated as he folded his hands in front of him. He smiled and added, "Oh, I've not told you my name, so you can call me Richard."

If he doesn't get his way? Rosette sipped some of her latte, letting the puffs of smoke go into the atmosphere. "What exactly do you mean by that? Not getting your way?" It sounded childish to her, but she didn't want to say that aloud to rub him the wrong way. "I'm pretty sure you're not an awful person, with a charm like that you can't be an awful person." She wondered what it could be, but it sparkled. Whatever she was looking at, was sparkling.

I don't turn 23 until August though, and I'm a Virgo, if you'd like to know my horoscope." Richard watched Rosette sip her latte and asked, "How can you drink coffee? It tastes horrible." Richard hated coffee and clearly expressed this as he leaned forward on the table and rested his chin on it. The girl clearly asked a lot of questions, so he decided to respond with an equal amount of comments or complaints for her.
"She's slightly different than me, but perhaps there is a good chance we can be together, even though that's probably ridiculous." Richard thought to himself as he looked at her.

Coffee tasted horrible? Rosette spit out some of her coffee at the comment. "You don't like coffee? Now that's interesting," Rosette said. She continued to sip it down as it warmed her stomach. Ah, how nice, she thought.
In response to Richard's comment about his birthday and age, Rosette began to laugh. "Well I guess that means you're not 23 yet, are you?" She meant to poke fun at him. She wondered if Aquarious and Virgos got along. Rosette was going to automatically assume yes, that they did get along. "Oh, Leonardo University...That's a good college I've heard." Rosette sipped her latte again, and put it down. "Well, looks like I'm going to have to cut it short. I've got to get going. It was nice chatting with you, hope all is well." She wrote down her number on a nearby napkin, and gave it to him. "If you ever want to hang out or talk, you're welcome to call me anytime." She handed him the paper with a slight smile as she checked out his figure. What was it about him that seemed so different? Maybe if she closed her eyes when she was near him, she'd see something. Oh well.
Rosette made her way out of the cafe, and dusted her jeans. Holding her latte, she headed south towards a bus stop.

Richard took the napkin into his hand and watched her leave the cafe. His eyes followed her from the window until she reached the end of the street and disappeared into the crowd. He sighed and stood up and then walked out of the cafe in a slightly depressed mood. He put his hands in his pockets and kept his shoulders slouched as he headed in the same direction as her. If she saw him it would seem rather odd for him to be following her, but the truth was that he lived down in the area that she was headed towards. How could he have let such a pretty woman get away?
Then he remembered that she had clearly said what was on the napkin was her phone number. He pulled it out and unfolded the napkin. Written in black ink was definitely the numbers 583-642-7783. It was a definitely a phone number, but was it really hers? He wondered about that as he stood there reading it since some women in the world often gave the wrong numbers to men just to spite them, at least that is what he'd heard. He knew men did that kind of thing, but the frequency depended from person to person. Rosette had seemed nice enough though, so it was unlikely she had written anything to try and harm him in any way.

There were many people on the streets, but something was fishy. She took the short cut towards the bus stop, usually a few only walked this way, but usually nobody did. She could hear someone's footsteps, someone seemed to be following her. Rosette contemplated in seconds whether she should turn around to face this person, or walk faster.
She looked behind her, just before she could open her mouth she saw Richard walking the same way and was shocked but a bit relieved it wasn't some strange person. She sighed, gathering her composure together.
"So, looks like you're headed the same way." Rosette said politely as she faced Richard. "Are you catching the bus too?"
Just then, the dumpster of the alleyway began to rattle. It was as if something was erupting, something huge and monstrous. Rosette glared at the dumpster, to see what it could be that was making the dumpster tremble so much. She stepped back, the energy gave her a bad feeling.
She looked behind her, just before she could open her mouth she saw Richard walking the same way and was shocked but a bit relieved it wasn't some strange person. She sighed, gathering her composure together.

The rattling continued become more erratic and wild. Richard felt his knees beginning to shake. Just the sound of the dumpster moving was causing him to be a bit edgy and fearful. He didn't know why, but he assumed whatever was in there probably was not a cat or raccoon. He decided to walk towards it and did so slowly thinking he was going to his own death sentence.

A shadow like creature shot out of the dumpster, with thick claws and venomous teeth. It had a piece of paper on it's forehead written in Japanese writing, but apparently the spell did not work as the creature let out a monsterous cry. It's teeth were jagged, it's body jagged as well as it jumped towards Richard within seconds.
Rosette didn't churned bad feelings in her stomach as sweat covered her forehead. Should she try to use her power and freeze the enemy? She thought she should give it a try. Just seconds before the the creature could attack Richard, Rosette rushed forward and jumped, landing a hand near the creature. Her hand froze the thing, leaving nothing but a crystal there of the creature displayed for show. She sighed in relief, then soon got back to reality making sure Richard was okay.

The fright of what occurred was so shocking that he fell to the ground on his boot and didn't move. He'd never seen anything like what she did before, unless... It was somehow like his own power.
"Hey," he asked curiously as he raised his hand at the frozen creature. "Is your power like mine?" His hand began to glow and from it he fired a stream of flames that incinerated the creature and completely destroyed it. The ice melted so quickly that it evaporated and only left behind a few ashes on the ground. He stood up and smirked now hoping that it was Rosette's turn to be shocked by his actions.
"Hey," he asked curiously as he raised his hand at the frozen creature. "Is your power like mine?" "Did you just..Did I just..." Rosette didn't finish her sentence, feeling a bit shocked by all the recent events that just occured. Everything happened within seconds. "Yeah, I have abilities too not known to the human eye." Rosette blinked. She was surprised his fire vanquished her ice, and the creature lie there in ashes.
Rosette put her finger in the ash and stared at it. "What's going on here? What was that thing?" Rosette stood up then looked both ways of the alley. "C'mon, let's get out of here.I It's urgent we talk somewhere, private."

"Fine, but it better not be too far away I have to go home and do my homework soon, otherwise I'll be scolded. It wouldn't be nice if that happened to me you know. I still live with my family and all and pay a basic house rent. They'd kill me for not keeping a promise." Richard stated as he walked over to her stepping on the ash as he followed her away from the scene they were at.
"Are we going to be talking in a back alley? You know if we are they'll probably be a lot of whatever that just was." Richard commented as he walked.

"Oh, you live nearby? Okay, well maybe it's best we do talk in the back alley way. Let's go," Rosette said as she held a hand out towards Richard. "You think more's going to come?" Rosette asked Richard as they walked towards the back alley way. "I wouldn't want to put anyone in danger, hence talking in a place like this." She sighed as she neared the back alleyway, then stopped making sure no body was there. "Good." Rosette said.

Thirdly, I have no idea what we just destroyed. You blasted it with ice so quickly and then I incinerated it so fast that I could not get a good look at what we destroyed really. I did see the paper stuck on its head, so maybe its some kind of zombie or magically summoned creature." Richard rolled his eyes at that thought and felt it was ridiculous before he put his hand to his chin and though more on the issue, "Maybe we were just imagining that thing and it's more logically based than I've just presumed. What do you think Rosette?"
He gazed at her and thought about one of her other comments, "What coincidence for us to meet like this. Maybe we're supposed to meet, you never know." This thought made him blush but he quickly went about trying to hide this by looking down at the muddy concrete at his feet. For a back alley it certainly was not clean. He lifted u his shoe and found he had definitely stepped in the mud below him somehow while they were walking.

I apologize for not wanting to join the multiverse I just find that posting there would only make me frustrated due to the fact that losing my posts could happen frequently.

I don't want to play in the multiverse. One, our posts will possibly get lost. Two, this is your own role play aka you control it. You'd have a little less control on the multiverse plot wise since they require lots of character interaction. I'm not sure if these would hamper you or not, but I'm not about to maybe have 5,000,000 posts slow my computer down some. That's apparently how many there are there I've read somewhere.

I've been thinking the past week how to develop my character profile, but I'm really kind of blank on ideas.
Does my character have to be a guy specifically or a girl specifically? I ask because this feels strongly like Sailor Moon possibly. I don't know why, but a picture for my character is all I could come up with.

Hm..So far I plan to not add a character sheet, since Roleplay Gateway already provides one. I expect players to know details such as occupation, age, gender, equipment, general appearance and history, etc. If not, maybe I will state this to be clear. And here I am stating it. Thank you for clarifying. :)

Your role play's picture reminds me of Chaos Emeralds from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I think your role play looks good in terms of having a simple plot, a few rules, but no set character sheet. I don't like character sheets, or well I've slowly begun to not believe in them as good things because I've been the kind of person who has made horrible ones. If I were you I'd be careful if you were to make a character sheet and only add what you absolutely need. I'm bringing this up because it might be the only thing your role play needs at the moment.
