In the Japanese countryside not far from the coast is the village of Kakatsucho. It only has a population of about 900, but has many things many villages dont have: a train station, an elementary and a high school (in one building), an office building, a post office, a local radio station and more than one local deities. Everybody is friendly to one another but soon city folks show up. They want to build a resort in the beautiful forest just east of the village. Construction workers and their families have arrived and will temporarily live in the village. But not many villagers are very fond of the project nor the people who have come, many of these finding the life in this village dull. Many even show disrespect towards the traditions and local deities of the village. Some of the villagers are considering to drive away the visitors. What will happen?

Kakatsucho: Kakatsucho is a village of 900 in the countryside near the coast. It has a train station, an elementary and a high school (in one building), an office building, a post office, a local radio station, two cafes, a restaurant and a small public swimming pool. There is also a small grocery store and a small market called "Short Stop". By train, the next largest city is about an hour away, the same time as by car. There are three shrines: One in the village and two in the hills nearby. The next port is in the neighboring village one train stop away or eight minutes by car.
