The roar that came from beneath the gasmask seemed as though it would tear Romeo's mind apart. But he had no time to think, as he was suddenly tinged with a red glow that seemed to block out everything, even his own thoughts, and a second later he found himself flying backwards. Whatever he hit first broke his spine and shattered, and then something heavy crushed the armor of his right arm, as well as the bone, several such injuries occured, until finally his armor shattered away completely, and he fell to the ground several hundred yards from where he had started. Unconcious, he was helpless to anything else that might happen, and it took a moment before his body began to slow process of regenerating damaged cells, tissues, and other things.

Hunter had started to inch forward as Romeo has seemed to undergo some monsterous transformation. It hurt his heart, somehow, to see such a thing, but then he was also assaulted by the huge wave of energy that came with the roar. Reaching down with his clawed left hand he dug in, keeping his ground and letting the area of psychic energy her had created fade away. Then, knowing that some of the others could never withstand such an attack, he reached out to their minds. First contact was made with Westlyn, then Alex, then, reluctantly, with Natasha. he wasn't able to hold them in place, however, he did manage to enclose them all in a sort of psychic bubble that would keep them from being crushed or impaled, though they would still be sent flying and be tossed around quite a bit.
