Xavier stumbled back, one of the zombieās had sliced him across the cheek with itās blade. Letting out a small yelp and drops of blood fell from the wound, he called upon his flames on his right hand: he had an idea. As the pile of rotting flesh crawled towards him, it had about a good two inches on him, Xavier stood still, biding his time. With both of itās hands (I use the term loosely) gripped tightly on itās bladeās hilt, the creature slowly and steadily rose itās weapon, the student could feel the force it had behind itās swing as he prepared to drop it all down on him. Momentās before the zombie began to swing down, Xavier lunged forward and smacked his open palm into the torso of the reanimated corpse, causing all the flames once only on his hand, to extend to the entire rotting thing.
As the creature fell onto itās back, it writhed in pain, letting out a horrifying scream before itās entire body reduced to ash. Xavier grimaced--- regardless of what it had become now, that thing was once a human. He couldnāt help but feel some remorse for what it had become now, a tool forced to do some whom he doubt valued its help much. The senior sighed, what was he getting all sentimental about? It was trying to kill him now, and he had dealt with itā¦
āThereās still way too many to deal withā¦ā His eyes narrowed as they darted towards the middle off all the otherworldly monsters, in the middle of it all, there was one student, calmly chanting an incantation. It was Joel. A technique like thisā¦the rumors about him at school were true? āDammitā¦so you really are against us?ā Xavier clinched his fists, causing them to erupt with their respective elements.

Preston was trying his best to stay out of everyoneās way. He managed to find an old rusted broadsword among the remains of the enemyās undead servants, however, he hadnāt the foggiest on how to use it effectively, and besides, all he could do was heal; he wasnāt a fighter. I should just stay with Jayx and her friendsā¦I can be of more use thereā¦ The blonde haired boy thought, frantically. His eyes darted about, trying to find the girl and her strange allies, but he couldnāt catch her in the midst of all of the chaos on the battle field.
Graaaaawgh!
Preston screamed, behind him, a single mace-wielding zombie limped after him, eager to sink all of its three teeth into the freshman. It flailed the weapon about wildly, and it was so close to Preston that he could hear the sound of it cutting the wind. The boyās heart raced as he forced his legs to go so fast he thought that they were going to fly from his body.
āSh-shi-shit!ā Preston yelped. He tripped. Over a pebble. A stupid, insignificant pebble. As he impacted against the dirt, his scavenged blade fell from his hand a scuttled across the field. He was scared.
Grrrrrraaaaaugh!
He watched as the shadow of his pursuer cast over him, and flipped himself over to get a glimpse of his attackerābefore itās weapon pounded his skull in.
But then, to his surpriseā¦the creature stopped. It dropped itās weapon, and let out a ghastly wail, before it suddenly sunk deep into the grounds from which it came. Preston, still shaking from the ordeal, let out a relieved breath and let his body fall limp as he spread himself out across the warm dirt ground.
What do we have hear folks? Did the necromancer lose control over his undead horde? Heās collapsed! Unable to battle anymore!
The crowd gasped at the collapse of another one of the warriorās, he was still conscious, but he was no doubt done for the day.
Yet another one left unable to continue! It looks like our first group is just about finished here! The girl hasnāt made a move yet..and whatā¦canā¦.the loneā¦.

Xavier listened, confused as the announcer Icarusā speech became slowed, he watched as the members of the crowd slowed in their heckling and throwing of foodāthis sensation was all too familiar, though much less through. Time was moving at a crawl, rather than completely stopped like the night before in the Shopping District.
"Guys, get ready... The wolves were just the first round, they'll be sending more, quickly!"
One of the opposite group called out, Xavier didnāt notice the kid, but he must have been from Atari. Was this time-slow his doing? Only more evidence supporting their allying with the ābad-guyā. It didnāt seem like this one wanted a fightāsomething told Xavier to still be cautious though. Granted, a fight at this point, with two of their fighters incapacitated and the other not keen on fighting, was foolishācould this supposed truce be a ploy?
There wasnāt much to it though; those gates were opening, and whatever was behind them looked to be a lot more than just a few wolves.
āYoā¦ā Xavier closed in on him ((Valor)), āYouāre teams done for the dayā¦but weāre still not out of the woods, letās help each other out. We just got here, so we're still fresh; but you all look beat.ā He relieved his left hand from its grip around his right bicep, and held out his hand to Valor. āJust for now alright?ā Xavier nodded towards the pair of bloodthirsty looking red eyes inside the darkness of the monsterās gate. It didn't matter whether or not they were truly enemies at this point, if they wanted to live, they needed to team up.
((Can't believe I've been leaving Preston out the action! And thanks Logan! I appreciate it.))
