"Is everyone still on board the ship Johnson?" Vincent asks, wringing his hat out as he looks out over the wheel of his ship, the Risen Phoenix. "That was a nasty storm. I want all crew members acounted for, as well as a supply check, no telling how much we lost this time."

The horizon was still dark, but it was obvious that the sun was finally begining to rise. Vincent had seen many storms in his life time and the one which had occured the during the night was sure to have wrecked at least a few ships and taken at least a dozen lives. In the back of his mind he was calculating the odds of finding yet another crew member due to this storm. So far, of the twelve members of his crew five of them had been found shortly after a storm had broken and the light once again shone down on the sea.

"Aye, I'll get right on it captain." Johnson says, turning and walking nearly off the edge of the ship before Vincent catches him and turns him in the right direction. "Danmed compass. I might be able to find dry land but I'll be damned if I can find anything else now..." The man grumbles, touching the dull metal box hanging from his side which houses his cursed treasure. "Alright men, look about! Captain wants to know who's still here and who ain't! So sound off or I'll assume you're dead, got it!"

Vincent turned away as the calls began to ring off, then return as if in an echo. Making his way from his cabin to the phoenix carving which adorned the head of his ship took longer than it should have, but thanks to the thick, sturdy wood he left no footprints nor splintered any planks along the way. Ever since he had become a man of the sea he had been forced to worry about such things because of his own curse. Never could he be close the edge of anything, whatever he stood on or, god forbid, slept on, had to be very sturdy indeed. Everyday he was in constant danger of falling into sea and never returning.

Once he reaches the front of the ship he notices pieces of a shipwreck floating towards them on the water. "Callaway! Look about the waters before us! A ship is washing up!" Vincent calls up to the man in the crows nest, cursed to only be able to see through his telescope, and only then things of importance.
