"Anyone can cry, child," Mathew whispered hoarsely, "Some just don't show it as often as others." He turned to look at the girl questionably. "Why did you follow me? I had angered you already." He flopped onto his back, staring up at her intently. 'So beautiful, for one so young,' his mind whispered as he thought of reaching up to her. His head shook violently, expelling the thought from his mind. "Is this revenge for me angering you? Or are you showing concern for this old man of a vampire?" He chuckled lightly, signifying that it was a joke.
