Em had been sleeping, but fitfully. The sight of a grown man crying had really jarred her and she'd had trouble keeping tears from her own eyes. She was not having dreams like the 'old man.' Instead, she tossed and turned, passing from sleep to being half-awake. She had heard the woman coming up the hill. She had readied herself to fight a horde of the undead when she heard "Hello? Anyone in there?"
The woman's appearance surprised her so much that she'd had no time to react when the man screamed and tripped over the rock. She snickered as the man went to sleep and poked her head out of the cave. "I see you met my...friend." She looked the older woman up and down for a second. Then she just stared at her for a while before breaking her own silence with,"How's it hangin'?"
