He would not buy into that, he would not start arguing back and forth, pointlessly. Neither was likely to listen to the other too much...

His hand tightened on his Katana when the bandits sprung out, but had little time to do anything before the others acted. He cursed himself for being so slow, but he did his part in helping evicerate the bandits. Too lost in watching for something completely different, Genkaro had missed the bandit's entirely.
