Snippet #1489860

located in The Balazar household, a part of So Glad for the Madness, one of the many universes on RPG.

The Balazar household

An old orchard that has long since produced enough fruit to make a living. The house itself is very large, old and needing many repairs. The basement is Cyrus's torture dungeon and always locked (Cyrus has the only key). There is alot of land to this orchard, so they get a good amount of privacy though there are a few neighbouring farms. The closest farm is 5km away.

Sydney smiled at her husband's affection. She couldn't even remember the last time Cyrus was this cheerful. Over nine long months, he had turned from a violent man into a comforting person. It was a side where Sydney hardly ever got to see, and it was flattering that such joy that poured out of him. In the beginning, it was hard getting used to how careful he was. She'd always known him as having a short temper; the caring side of him was indeed an eye-opener. She even remembered the very moment she told him she was pregnant; they had both been having terrible days. They were angry at each other, throwing things at each other, cursing one another. It was when he raised his hand to her in such angry way that she blurted it out. Ever since then, they hadn't fought. Well, not too bad anyway.

When Cyrus placed his hand upon her stomach, the child vigrously moved inside of her. When the food was brought out, the movement only made Sydney's hunger seem to grow. As soon as the plate hit the table, she instantly dug in. She ate everything, and her stomach's constant growling faded away. The restless child then calmed down a little, knowing that its mother was being fed. She was the first one finished with her food. Slowly, she struggled to stand from her chair, collecting her clean plate and placing it gently into the sink. She rinsed the plate from the food scraps, making sure the plate was properly washed. She knew how much of a headache Kerrie must have gotten from washing these dishes; it was only fair to make her job a little bit easier.

By that time, Sydney had completely forgotten about her mini-spat with Cheyenne. It was clear to her that Cheyenne's argument with Asher was giving her a bitter start. Perhaps I should have kept my mouth shut. I can understand her situation, and she is family...

Sydney's mind shortly went blank. It didn't really matter anymore. It was all said and done; nothing could be changed now. She walked back over to Cyrus's seat, placing her hands on the back of the chair. She bent forward, getting close to his ear. "This child could come any second," she whispered, hoping to not disturb the others while they ate. "I'm not feeling well, so I think I'm going to lay in bed for an hour or two."

As much as Sydney hated to be lazy, she really wasn't feeling all that well. Perhaps it was just her raging hormones? Whatever it was, it was beginning to take toll on her role in the family. Most of the time, Sydney would start her day with two to four phone calls, and they would always be wealthy people asking her for a job. She would spend most of the day going out murdering the people that was victimized, but in her own firey way of course. After a long day's work, she would return home and relax if only for a small amount of time. Sydney found herself clutching the chair for balance, hoping nothing too drastic would happen today.
