Raine watched as more guests came in. Some were minor figures in her eyes and others piqued her interest. If only in the least. Her chamberlain returned with all speed with wine glass in hand. She looked at it before passing it on to her father, the other chamberlain. "Taste it for me." The man nodded and he sniffed it before taking a small sip and confirming that it was safe. She took it back and nodded to Lionel. "Thank you." The man bowed and took his position behind her.

As she sipped her Dom. Romane Conti. An expensive wine that costs thousands if procured correctly. It was her favorite and she mainly preferred spiced wines rather than the fruity kinds. Her tongue went over her lips that moisture had sweetened, catching the flavors of her wine. "Magnificent." She murmured, half to herself and half to her servant. "I'm pleased to have met your qualifications, Sovereign." She shot him a small smile before greeting more of the guests.

"Lady Raine, if I may call you, what makes you come here? Generally your clan does not join these sorts of events? Is it the host?" She turned her fiery gaze to a woman who was of her own height and had purple eyes with slits along her neck that would be almost undetectable by the untrained eye. "Is it wrong of me to come? I do believe my clan to have some sort of political standing and it would be a good experience for them as they are yet young to me." She cut to the chase disliking the woman by the seconds that passed. "That is true. You and your kitsune are quite reserved. Your outfit however is simply extravagant! My I ask where you attained that silk?" Raine closed her eyes to half mast peering out at the woman from under her lashes. "It is a silk that only my people make and will continue making for ourselves for centuries later. I'm glad you find it to be a fine material." She added emphasis on a part of a sentence to make her meaning clear. I have no need of any negotiations between you and my clan. The lady caught on quick and she leaned forward to give a solemn bow before disappearing off into the crowd.

She felt a hand begin to reach for her but pause and return. She didn't turn to look. Offering comfort to a Sovereign only made them soft and it was a rule to remain isolated in a clan. Nothing to distract you from your duties. She gave a soft sigh and flicked one of her many tails to brush over Lionel's leg. "I'm fine. Return to your original status." Her word was a command.

Raine glanced over as a woman approached. She slightly remembered her coming in and she nodded a greeting. "Yes, Lady Willow. It is a pleasure to see you on this fine eve." She listened to the woman's request as she tried to keep her composure. Asking a kitsune that was like asking for the fox to rip your head off. Did this woman not know? Raine crossed her arms at the wrist covering them with the sleeves. "You may not. I do not wish for ill fate to come of you. It also remains a question of keeping my body...Clean. Do not misunderstand. I would believe you to be one of the cleaner residents in here but I must not bring harm to anyone here." Just to lighten the mood since she wanted good relations with the girl who was brave enough to ask, she gave a small chuckle. "I would not have you retching blood while dancing this afternoon, hm?"

She looked up as the announcement for a new dance began. She loved to dance but with who? She looked to Lady Willow wondering if she had a partner. Probably. Raine smiled and gave a slight bow. One to show her respect and then again that she was of equal power. "I think I will attend a dance. I wish you luck Lady Willow. Grace be with you." She shuffled off with her chamberlains in suit to join the dance in the middle of a crowd easily pairing with one of the males and switching to a female. It bothered her not who she danced with just that she could feel the music in her body and the rhythm in her mind. Every now and then she would give a giddy laugh or smile towards her partner to show her joy. And she would switch with a small bow to show her gratitude. Who would she dance with next and then after that? To her it would be never ending!
