Ember, at the moment was looking at all the surronding people. Her eyes glancing from face to face. For the first time in her life, she wasn't scared of them. Not at the people who glared at them, nor the irratable staff team. When he whispered something, it startled her, making her jump slightly. "Oh.O-Ok." She replied back, holding his han tightly. What was wrong? Why was there that pain in his eyes? It wasn't right for him to feel that. No. he didn't deserve pain. When he loosened his grip, she tightened hers. "No. No it's fine. When he leaned closer, she smiled, feeling safe withen his grasp. her eyes sparkled under the florescent lights. When he asked her the question, she paused, trying to think of a safe place to go. Not her apartment, or even his. She wasn't ready for that just yet. Some scars still needed to heal. They were both out of money, so why not the beach. "The beach?" She said, but it sounded more like a question. Would he dissaprove? When he nodded, she smiled brightly again, lighting up her whole face.

She walked out the door, letting a sigh escape as the tropical hit her. It was much better than the cold air conditioned feeling of Burger King. Something in the corner of her eye stole her attention away from grasp. It was an alley where a shady character lie, smoking a joint. She tried to ignore him, but when he winked, she had to hold back tears. 'Stop it Ember. You're not back in New York. He doesn't know who you are, or what you used to do for a living, he just likes the way you look...Chase will protect you.' She reminded herself, trying to keep her heartrate down.

When Chase spoke, she jumped slightly. A visable blush arose to her cheeks as he finished his sentence with love. For a second, she couldn't find her voice. Did he really just call her love?
