The music and light began to die down within the event, as many Bionic Soldiers began to appear around the arena. Each held an object in their hands, but as it was dark, only those with night vision could actually see them. Weapons were not allowed within the Event, save for the GMs in charge, and the Developer who could not remove his even if he wanted to. Light fell onto one of soldiers, who held a large electric guitar, and began to strum it quickly. Two more guitarists began to play as the light fell onto them as well.

"Sir, your needed in game," Joshua Michaels' assistant prodded him with his own cane, "Your 'Grand Entrance' has begun, and you have less than two minutes until it is too late." His eyes popped open, then, and he looked up at the ceiling, wondering where he was. "Sir, you slammed into a wall on your way out, remember? You drank my cider, and fled from the room."

Ah yes, his mind said slowly, THAT I remember, and heard a slight chuckle escape his lips. "Alright, alright," he said getting to his feet, "I'm up, I'm up." Stretching his arms and back, he sprinted down the hallway towards his room. "Computer," he shouted, "Immediate log in of Desolate Warrior. Password: Sons of Odin." ~Access Granted~ Came the reply, as he settled into his chair and placed the visor over his eyes.

-----

High above the event, Desolate Warrior stared down at the milling crowd around the only source of light. He could hear the song floating up towards him, and immediately, his keyboard appeared in front of him. Striking the keys quickly, he began to form a flaming motorcycle in front of him. Mounting it, he awaited him cue to ride down, which came almost immediately after he sat down. Raising his axe high above him, he charged straight down, striking the ground hard, and creating a large plume of sand and dust. The motorcycle roared as he charged the arena, just as the soldiers, each, tilted their heads back, and fired off a large beam of energy from there heads. The lasers struck the disco ball, which was then reflected into the crystalline tornadoes, causing them to erupt into a rainbow of brilliant colors.

The motorcycle roared up one of the tornadoes, creating a line of fire that spiraled around it. As he reached the top, the motorcycle leaped high, landing hard within the center of the arena. As the song came to a close, he dismounted the motorcycled, and raised his left arm high, listening to the roar of the crowd around him. Just as the bionic soldiers gathered around him, he noticed that something was wrong, the world was darkening around his character. "What the..." He never got another word in, as the word DISCONNECTED appeared over his eyes, and was thrusted out of the game.

Gasping for air, as the visor was taken off, and a light was shoved into his eyes, "Sir," came a familiar voice, "Sir, can you hear me?" His vision swirled, and felt something climb his throat. Turning onto his side, he opened his mouth and saw his last meal fall onto the floor beneath him. "That was disgusting, sir." Turning onto his back, Joshua gasped for air, confusion was apparent on his face. "Wha- what happened?"

"Sir," the voice repeated, "You were disconnected from the V-Game, and forced back into reality." This caused him to shake, and he raised a hand to cover his eyes, "Sir, thats not all." He removed his hand from his eyes, and peered up at his assistant, "About half of the players within the Desolate Wasteland were also disconnected from the game." Her voice began to climb, "Reports are coming in now, and many of our players are in serious trouble. Sir, what are we to do?"

"The only thing we can do," came a breathy whisper, "Send out the call to every emergency building on the planet, and find the cause of the problem before it happens again." As he finished, exhaustion took over once more, knocking him out cold.
