Mira felt Rathan rumble beneath her in reaction to Botaru's threatening behaviour and then she felt him raise up to his full height as he snarled at the other dragon. Still seated atop him she towered over the riding instructor who stood arms crossed. As much as she understood Rathan's resentment of how the other dragons treated him she did not want it to turn into a fight. She was already only just tolerated by the others and fighting with the instructor and his dragon would only make things worse. Clearly deciding to watch the lesson was not a good idea besides which it appeared that no one would learning that morning.

Rathan snarled low in his throat and his chest began to glow as his anger grew and he took a step forward with his head forward and teeth bared. Mira knew that words would not calm him and so she slapped him hard on his flank, it was not hard enough to hurt him but forceful enough that it distracted him for a moment. He swung his head round and snapped at Mira. It showed just how angry he was for he cared for no one else like he did Mira and she knew that when he calmed he would be guilty and apologetic. But first she had to get him away and calmed down before things got any further out of hand. She slapped him again and glared at him in warning making it clear she would not tolerate him harming her.

Enough Rathan! She said firmly. Calm yourself
I want to kill him! Rathan snarled and his voice was loud and painful in her mind. She winced but persevered repeating what she had said and slowly she felt him calming somewhat. He was still angry but she was confident that he would not harm anyone.

After a moment she looked at Vincent. "It appears this this was an error in judgement, it will not happen again. I apologise for the disturbance, I will leave you to your lesson and if I...see any of your absent students I will remind them where they should be."
Mira did not apologise easily and it was even more difficult knowing that the instructor would most likely scorn the apology but Mira was determined not to make her life any more difficult there than it already was. She nodded at him before urging Rathan once more up into the sky, he gained altitude quickly beating his large powerful wings strongly. Mira turned him towards the mountain giving him free rein to fly as wildly as he wished knowing he needed to work the aggression out of his system.
