Shaking his head slightly, he came to his feet.
"Why don't you both come with me?" he suggested quietly, glancing from Alice to Erik. "My dojo's just across the street. You can get cleaned up there, and we can talk without anyone else interrupting us."

He glanced between the two, searching for approval or dissent. For some reason, he felt a bit protective of the two of them. Their powers were so much stranger, harder to conceal, then his own... their situations so much less fortunate. He wanted to help them, give them someone they could talk to. That was what he had always wanted to do for the people around him. He wanted to protect, support, guide. He wanted to lead them.
