As Mari was handed her tray she looked in awe at the food in front of her, as she sat down at a table (she really wasn't paying attention to where she sat); she noticed the guy across from her eating like he was at a fine restaurant. She knew that he was a first year cause he had been in a few of her classes, he always seemed to be cool and collected in every class.

She shrugged and looked back at her food, "Hmm, how to make this better", she thought to herself, the snails were fried in the shell, the soup was hot as the hinges of Hell, and the calamari well was calamari. Thats when she decided to make the best of it, contrary to popular belief around school Mari was civil she just didn't like guys groping her.

She took the end of the spoon and proceeded to dig the snail out of the shells, dropping them in the soup, after that she added the calamari and stirred in just a bit of water. "Here goes" she thought, she took her spoon and took a bite, it actually tasted pretty good all mixed together like that. Everything seemed to balance out when put together, she shrugged and continued eating her food.

She looked up again at the guy across from her, she decided to make dinner conversation; "Hi I'm Mari I think we have math and aggressive negotiations together", she said to Jack. And then put another spoon full in her mouth, thinking it could use just a little salt, swallowing, she looked back at jack "So, you like it here so far?", she asked him.
