Tess had followed their car, if only from a distance. She had a strangling suspicion that Gordon was in the car with his "beloved". While at a stop light, she picked up her phone and texted him: "Have U heard nething yet?"
Impatiently, she threw it back down on the passenger seat and pressed her temples with her fingers. Then another thought struck her and she called her best friend. "Hi. Can't talk. Need stuff.... I don't care about your love life. Yes. In the secret room. Yes. No, no. Yeah, that one. I don't know, surprise me, but make it something subtle. Yeah... yes! Thank you so much, love you!" She slid her phone shut happily and the light turned green.
She was absolutely certain that Gordon would respond, so instead she sent a bulk text to all of her other connections to meet her at one of their many safe houses to discuss the latest sabotage.
