As he looked at the girl, she responded saying, "So are you inviting me in, if you are I'll gladly take you up on that offer. It'd be much easier" What a strange way of putting it, he supposed that meant she hadn't been originally invited after all. And it wasn't like his word carried much weight here. Oh well, not like he cared too much any way. She introduced herself as Freah and it sounded as though she was a capable tracker, someone who would come in use when hunting a killer. Cazik took a position against the wall by the door and glanced at the people in the room.
There was a ranger who seemed entirely too friendly, amicable, and a little absent-minded for someone as grizzled as he. Then there were the two others, the rare battle mage and a cleric. They seemed as opposite as any two people could be. The black-clad mage was a well-built man, and while there were few outward signs of him being a bad person, Cazik was unable to shake a sense of foreboding looking at him, he just seemed...cold somehow. On the other hand the cleric, a girl who looked younger than Cazik himself was dressed in white and green, and looked to be of an order that worshiped Zerval. She positively radiated happiness and friendliness. Her youth was a bit of a surprise, though Cazik was well aware that skill and age were not necessarily correlated. Still, something about her demeanor, was she too friendly? Cazik decided he would just need to watch his own back, at least until he got a better idea of who he was working with.
He was about to introduce himself when another woman stumbled out of breathe into the room. She said her name was Terrah and apparently she was a warrior. She seemed by turns embarrassed and sincere. But Cazik was not about to let his guard down in a room where everybody was for hire.
Before he could introduce himself, the cleric, Everen was her name, got into a discussion with the battle mage, revealing their differences were more than just skin deep. She then detailed the task they were given as well as the reward. When she finished, Cazik wondered first how he would go about apprehending a rogue mage. Then he wondered if the reward would actually be worth the considerable effort and danger involved.
Taking the initiative when Everen finished talking he said, "My name is Cazik Norven, and I will help you apprehend this killer. That said, do you have any other information that could be of use to us?"
