"I don't like being called Calliope!" I exclaimed, slamming my hands down on the table. I really hated that. The name was a reminder about things I didn't like to be reminded of. Which there were a lot of.
"...Ow!" I added as an afterthought. "Why did I think that was such a good idea, again?" I really wasn't expecting an answer.
My hands were stinging slightly- I hadn't regulated how hard I had hit the table. "Most people call me Callie. And some call me Co." It originally used to be Callio, for the first two syllables of my name, then shortened into being just Co.
