I give her my standard response. "Good question. Next question?" I paused a minute, then I smiled at Layla. "I was joking; I sincerely have no clue." I rubbed them together to try to get them to feel normal, then wrapped my hands around the bowl of French onion soup Freddy had just delivered.
"I love France." I murmur quietly. We'd been there for two summers; two of the best in my life. "Actually, I think J.J. would yell if I do whatever I do. After all, I jumped out the Stable loft." I said the last sentence as quietly as I could; I did not want to remind J.J. that I was injured, and I didn't want to appear to be a bad girl or insane.
I turned to look at J.J. and clapped a hand over my mouth carefully, until I felt like I wouldn't laugh. I tasted the soup. "I feel like I'm in France again..." I told Freddy, smiling a little.
