As the sun went down, Kai started to wake, the 'life' slowly returning to his pale features. He sat up, his mind still trying to hang onto the fuzziness of sleep. He rubbed at his eyes, a largely redundant, human gesture, but he had been blending with humans for over 170 years, it was tough to break the habits. He stretched and went to his closet, running a hand through his hair, a nervous habit, one he had retained from his own days as a human, yet another he still couldn't break...
Pulling out a black shirt and a pair of jeans, he put them on the bed, still neatly folded (he was a self-confessed neat freak), he went for a quick shower in the adjoining bathroom, loving the feeling of the hot water on his skin. Vampire skin was so cold, at least until he had fed, then it was only three or four degrees colder than a human's. After his shower, he dressed, almost forgetting that he didn't have a class now, so he didn't put as much effort in today. That annoyed him, he had loved his old job...

Shaking off the depressive thoughts, he left his apartment and headed out. Hunters or no, he was going to have to feed sometime...
