Izzie's frown intensified as Eli refused to look at her, staring right down at the table when she spoke to him. Then again...isn't that exactly what I did? she mused. Right after that little...'moment' in which Izzie realised she really was talking to Ellie. She'd refused to meet his gaze--because maybe there might have been shame in her eyes, an apologetic quality she didn't need anyone to see. But when she spoke, she saw a small smile alight on his features. Which caused Izzie to do the same, in her own minuscule way. As long as he wasn't holding anything against her. "I prefer Eli, but....um, if you're uncomfortable with that, you can still call me Ellie."

"You kiddin'?" she retorted gruffly, shaking her head. "You want me to call you Eli, then that's what I'm gonna do." She paused as he glanced away to look at Roy, giving her a moment to choose her next words--and when he turned back, she simply picked out what came to mind first. "'cos I know that regardless of what I call you, you're still the same person inside. That's all I care about."

Huh...I guess that came out...well, okay, she thought to herself as she looked back to Eli. At least, I don't think I made an ass of myself with that. Confidence bolstered, she nodded back towards the group and said to Eli, "Now why don't you come over and sit with us? I mean..." the smile widened somewhat into a smirk. "You did come here for us, right?"
