"Well, to be honest," Eli remarked. "I'm not all that into that game. It's just a bit fake."

"Just a bit ain't even the half of it," Izzie commented. More like, complete and utter bullshit.

"I think I would prefer to sit with you," he decided, turning back to her and brushing the bangs of his hair from his eyes. Eyebrow raised slightly, Izzie shrugged in what could've come off as a rather nonchalant manner. "Alright then." She pushed herself from the sleek wood surface of the booth chair and then moved to seat herself on its cushion, across from Eli. "Would you by any chance like something to eat, by the way? I'm kinda starving."

"Nah, I'm okay. Order what you like, though." Izzie instinctively reached down to check her wallet for how much money she had--just in case, perhaps, Eli didn't have enough money to pay himself? Something like that. A carry on from those years prior--it seemed she still couldn't shake the feeling that, as the eldest, she was supposed to be responsible for everyone. They were all older now, and they could take care of themselves just fine.

She looked back up towards Eli as, momentarily, silence stretched between them. She wasn't particularly sure what to say. The obvious question still awake in her mind was...well, concerning his decision to go from Ellie to Eli. But that was neither here nor there, none of Izzie's business.
