Kaie made many twists, turns, and jumps in this gigantic maze. No, it wasn't that big, but caverns had a tendency to be quite confusing, no matter the size. The faint flickering of a small camp-fire, drew the woman's attention, and alarmed her that something was most likely watching the place. Gentle steps led her directly to a shadowy corner of the gaping entrance to the room. A goblin lay resting on the ground.
The smell of burning meat indicated that it had been feeding not too long ago. “Yuck. Burnin' rat...” Kai softly muttered under her breath. The creature was growling quite loudly, and rustling through the gravelly, stone ground.

Nearly simultaneously, both the creature's arm, and its filthy body dropped on the ground. Near black blood squirting everywhere as it did so.
Kaie glared at the corpse, her neutral expression swapping with a sad one. “'Twas not entirely inevitable you'd die...” Mindless creature or not. Kaie could not bare killing anything, even if she accepted that something must die in order to protect something else. The young woman threw one of the rags that lay near the camp-fire, onto the goblin corpse. A way of saying, rest in peace. Of sorts.
