Anez looked up at Cain, her crying stopped, and she stopped to actually look at him. To try and see what his mother must have saw, she tried looking deep into his obsidian eyes, but still all she could see was the king of her peoples' enemy, though there was a spark of something way deep within him. She wasn't sure what this spark was, if it was kindness, or the "beast part of him" that he had mentioned he was trying to keep back.

She cleared her throat, "Your mother was very brave," she said quietly touching his cheek lightly though this was against her instincts, "But please, could you just ask me first? Pretend like I have a choice and just ask me." She said, her voice containing more comfort and concern than it had since she was first brought here. Though she knew she had no choice and even if she did say "no" she would be forced into this anyway, but deep down her own free will was one of the only things she felt like she had left, and when you have very little left you tend to cling onto what you do have. She just didn't want to let that go even if she was kidding herself that she still did have free will, pretending was better than the realization of the truth.
