Rose smirked at Zehn's impatience. He would of lost his temper already if he wasn't so stubborn. She's leave alone for now, however. She continued down the hallway checking each room's number as she passed. The rooms also had their occupants' names on the side. She finally stopped at the end of the hall. Nira's name glistened in metal on a small sheet. Bingo.
She fiddled with the lock a bit before simply deciding on breaking the door down. The room was simple and neat. A bit too neat. The room was more than neat, it was basically empty. All of Nira's possesions were gone. Had her room already been emptied? No... If Swain wanted us to investigate, he would of left everything the way it was when she died. Or WAS this the way she left it before she died?
Rose took a careful look around. The medium-sized closet was empty except for a few bare hangers. A chester-drawer sat near her carefully made-up bed. Also empty. Everything was gone except for the blood-splattered suitcases on the floor holding all her possessions. She bent down and licked a drop of the now-dried blood. "Hmmmm...." she hummed in thought. She followed the blood trail and it let to the door, and by the smears in the carpet, it appeared she'd been dragged from her room after someone had injured her.
"She was still alive when she was taken to the front of the building by the struggle here. However, something's not making sense... why were things packed up? Was she running away?"
Rose found the answer to her question on Nira's desk. A letter dressed in the crimson of Nira's blood was laying there. She picked the paper up and began to read; narrowing her eyes more and more as she reached its conclusion.
"Well, I'll be damned. Nira was a spy too." She figured Zehn wouldn't believe her, so she handed him the letter to read for himself. The letter said,
Dear Nira,
It's been well over three years since you infiltrated Krux, and you haven't brought back anything substancial. You haven't even gotten close to Swain despite being his secretary. Furthermore, the information you gave us on project HARVEST, is extremely vague. You couldn't even get a hold of any profiles or documents. You've failed us for the last time. This last task, however, you will not fail. Our Deleter will make sure of that. Goodbye.
Rose wondered if her 'last task' was to be made a threat note. Plus this.... Deleter... must of been the one who disposed of her so skillfully.
"Well, I think we've gathered more than enough-" She cut off when she her eyes caught a hold of a card sticking out of a crack in the desk. She pulled it out and examined it. It was a business card. The card was black and written in dark blue was 'FALLEN CO.' There was also a black feather outlined in blue. Feathers again. What could it mean.... at least the Harvester's invisible enemy had a name now.
"So, are you going to mope now that you've found out your precious Nira was a dirty spy looking to kill you?" Rose stabbed.
