Alexander nodded as Karu rested her head on his shoulder. "I agree, the pack needs to be careful. I wish none of this had happened. Losing anyone else would be horrible." Alexander smiled at Karu as she shifted and raced off. He transformed to a wolf and raced right after her. Together they jumped logs and dodged trees; it was amazing. There was not better feeling than the adrenaline of running full speed through the forest. Wow, you're quick! he said telepathically.

Eventually they arrived into camp and saw a deer laying on the grass. Some of it had been eaten, but there was some left. Together they dug in to the fresh meat. Wow, this is delicious! he thought contently. He could have sworn that there was a bit of shadow pack scent wafting from it, but he dismissed. The animal could have easily run over the borders several times. Alexander continued to eat, but couldn't help the thoughts racing in his head...
