There was a clattering from the back room of the dojo, the sound of things being knocked clumsily from shelves and weapons hitting the floor. A near silence followed as the crashes faded, though keen ears might have picked out the sound of something sliding and shuffling along the floor.

The door to the back room clicked, and it swung open just a few small inches. It was dark inside. Slowly a pair of wide, pure-white eyes peered out from the crack. A single black tendril crept around the door frame and nudged the door open slightly more.
