Aiden saw her emotional moment end almost as soon as their eyes met. He watched her face slacken of emotions, and the look she was giving him could make hell freeze over. Then she looked past him, as if he didn't exist, and brushed by him in much the same manner. Before he knew what he was doing, he shot a hand out, latching it onto one of her arms.
"Hold up!" He felt his emotions become how they were before: confuse, annoyed, and aggravated. "Why do you keep doing that, huh? You were hurt. Why do you let them do that? Why do you always try to hide?" He shook his head, actually feeling a little desperate, "And then you run away when someone tries to help you. I don't get it."
