She flinched as his voice flared, and tried more frantically to free her arm from him. When he spoke next, his voice was back to how she remembered it sounding whenever he talked in class. Calm and cool, though there was an underlying emotion she couldn't place her figure on. Anger? Desperation? Annoyance? or What?
"I'm the one who tried to help you, so, yeah, it does involve me."

And then, finally, he released her. Tenderly, she rubbed at her wrist were there was a slight pain from the grip he'd held. This boy was crazy with an extra dose of idiocy. "You chose to help me on your own. It has nothing to do with me..." Her voice came out weaker than before, and she could feel the mask start to break.

He went on speaking, "Look, I helped you, so just tell me. Why do you LET them bully you without ever TRYING to defend yourself?"

Her breath caught, and the glass mask shattered. "Maybe I WANT people to hate me! Did you ever think of that? For me, being hated is better than being loved!" Realized she'd just yelled that at him, her eyes widened and she looked turned her back to him. In a softer, defeated voice, she said, "Your really a bother."

She went past him successfully this time, and walked out of the auditorium, trying hard to keep back her emotions.
