The shiny man in his golden armour looked somewhat annoyed by her question, a hint of irritation tinging his voice.
“Only one of you? So you’re alone aboard that?”
She asked quizzically, pointing with the tip of her sword towards the large wreckage behind him which had begun to emit a strange wail that was now spreading all around as it echoed. While she could understand him, his meaning was a little odd to her given that Dwarves had very little use for metaphors and had a great deal of issue in understanding their subtle meaning. Kairos was making hissing noises, similar to the growls of the wolf by Vanessa’s side as he glared at the golden boy, his singular eye flaring a deep crimson as he seemed to have issues with the wailing noise. With one gauntleted hand she reached up to lightly reassure him, not once taking her eyes off this strange newcomer as she wondered what could be causing the noise that was distressing her friend so.
Her sword had been lowered somewhat, though still kept in a faint guard by her waist in case this Hume decided to attack her and given that he seemed a little disturbed by his turn of phrase she wasn’t taking any chances. Suddenly a new figure appeared from the smoke and laughing, a grin spread across her face she spoke quickly; her comments about finding ‘fun things’ which Vanessa wasn’t sure about what could be fun given the situation but that it may refer to this ‘Alistair’.
“You said you were alone, Alistair”
Her deep voice was darker as she narrowed her eyes, her hand reaching over her shoulder and withdrawing her bihänder, Moralltach. She grunted a little as pulled it out as while she could comfortably wield the blade one handed it was not an easy task by any means but given two opponents and the relatively open space around them she’d not have much issue swinging her swords. Vanessa brought both swords round in an arc before resting them in front of her body, crossed but not touching and easily demonstrating the sharp edge of the weapons in the faint whisper as they passed through the air; with Moralltach causing a longer wail due to the fact that it was longer than the newly appeared woman was tall.
“Why are you here? My father said no Hume could come here… It is forbidden. I am not afraid of a Hume.”
These Hume were clearly not what she’d expected of them, from the stories she’d heard she had been afraid to see great monsters from her darkest nightmares. Something almost as horrifying as the demons of ancient legends.
